TabloidDot M is a simple monospace font created for a small project. It had one task, to imitate the inscriptions on the electronic scoreboard in the form of dots arranged on a grid. As time went on I decided to make an extended version of the font with alternate letters and more styles, plus a variable font to control the size of the dots. The font has 6 stylistic sets, Proportional and Old-style figures, Ornaments, a set of Arrows, Currency Symbols, and supports Extended Cyrillic.

Randolph is a popular font family from Jukebox done in an old fashioned copperplate etching style that harkens back to the days of old leather-bound shop ledgers and hand painted window signs. Goudy Forum is a revival and dramatic expansion by Tom Rickner, type designer at Ascender Corporation, of Frederic W. Goudy’s 20th typeface design, "Forum Title". The Pro font began twenty years ago while Tom Rickner was a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Tom printed a type specimen using the Forum Title foundry hot metal types. Then in 1993 Tom began to digitize the font from that specimen while working as an independent type designer. Fifteen years passed before Tom dusted off the digital data and began working in earnest on font with a full Latin 1 character set. Steve Matteson, type director at Ascender, encouraged Tom to take this font further still, and soon the glyph repertoire and feature set blossomed to a robust Pro font with a myriad of advanced typographic OpenType features.

More Printing Helpers JNL gathers another assortment of vintage printing embellishments and ornaments from the late 1800s. Within the standard twenty-six alphabet keys are pointing hands, corner pieces, border elements and decorative center and end pieces. On the lower case, certain elements have been flipped or inverted for matching effects. Some additional positions are available on the 1 through 9 keys and on the colon and semicolon. A bonus to this font: three expandable panels. the first (with decorative end caps) is attained by typing the left parenthesis for the left side, the hyphen for the center lines and the right parenthesis for the right side. The second one features ribbon ends, and the combination of the less than-equal-greater than keys creates this panel. The third design can be made by typing the left brace/vertical bar/right brace keys.

This bold, bodacious blackletter typeface is based on an offering from the 1832 Boston Type Foundry catalog. Although it generally appears to be a sober Old English font, there are a few quirky turns here and there, which make it a lot of fun. On a cold winter's night, George Ryan, of Galápagos Design Group, began musing on the possibilities for a “truly original” sans serif typeface. What came out of his musing, and his always-present sketchpad, was ITC Adderville, a typeface whose visual impact is immediate and strong. Ryan explains how he did it: “The rounded ends of its strokes and their skewed baseline contact create an illusion of dancing feet. The tops of lowercase stems emit serif buds, suggesting transition into or out of the serifed form. The spear-like lowercase stroke terminators, along with other distinctive elements such as the stylized reticulation of the lowercase 'g' segments, the salute of that same character's spur, and the bold, non-self-conscious 'i' and 'j' dots, all contribute to the playful and unique nature of this design.” The result is a friendly, lively type family whose graduated weights -- book, medium, and heavy -- lend themselves especially well to use at small display sizes and in short blocks of text.
