Akira Kobayashi modified his Eurostile Next design into a fun unicase version. Ascenders and descenders have been traded in for alternates of letters that all share the same height. The effect is similar to using all caps, although this is quite a bit more quirky. For example, letters like the lowercase a and e are now the same height as their capital versions and the lowercase y has been raised to fit between the baseline and top height. Odd relationships such as these give Eurostile Unicase a fresh and funky feeling. Try using it for headlines and titles, then use Eurostile Next for the body text!

The Ancient North Arabian scripts Ancient North Arabian is the name given to a group of scripts belonging to the South Semitic script family, which also includes the Ancient South Arabian alphabets (musnad and zabūr) and the vocalized alphabets used in Ethiopia for Geʿez, Amharic, etc. The Ancient North Arabian scripts were used both in the oases (Dadanitic, Dumaitic, Taymanitic,) and by the nomads (Hismaic, Safaitic, Thamudic B, C, D, and possibly Southern Thamudic). There are tens of thousands of inscriptions and graffiti in these scripts which were used in the period roughly between the sixth century BC and the fourth century AD. Red Tape is three fonts that were designed by sticking letters together with red tape. It makes for a wonderful makeshift set of fonts. And I really enjoyed sticking those letters together. Of course I did it on screen using bits and pieces of scanned red tape. In the year 1528 Pierre Attaignant led a revolution in music printing. His method of once-press moveable type, greatly simplifying the original 3 impression process developed by Petrucci, remained in use till near the end of the 17th century. The method could only realize one line of music per staff, and the introduction of barlines as a common means of aligning multiple staves brought this method to a close after nearly two centuries of use. This font is meant to allow the printing of music using that method with the notation of that era. It is largely based on an exemplar printed by Snodham of London.

Set of ornaments based on the decorative motifs used by the first typographic workshop in Buenos Aires: “Imprenta de Niños Expósitos”, between 1780 and 1824. This set is the product of an extensive historical research that aims to identify the type that came from Europe to the City during colonial times, and during the first years of Argentina’s independence. This group has a lot of diversity, which fluctuates between organic baroque forms and geometric neoclassical. Its characters can be used in editorial design along with Roman typefaces, they work individually or grouped to form different figures, guards or frames. It was baptized in honor to the first printer who worked in the workshop: the Spanish Agustín Garrigós.

Stencil Round Ends, is just that, a stencil typeface with rounded terminations to each line rather than the squared terminations found in your typical stencil font. This design was developed while designing a typeface for engraving. The end mill tools used to engrave a font are round, thus the lines will all end with a rounded edge. While designing the engraving font I also designed this font to make sure that the single line version will have the desired aesthetic. Unlike many stencil fonts that have a limited range of glyphs I made this to contain the majority of letters, accents, ligatures, and mathematic symbols commonly used in most latin based languages.
