In 1939 the Stephenson Blake Company bought a very popular script called Undine Ronde and began marketing under the name Amanda Ronde. Although Undine/Amanda was quite popular and can be seen in many advertisements from the 1930s and 1940s, there seems to be no surviving record stating the original foundry or designer. We thought that six and half decades of dust layers over the once-popular typeface were enough, so here and now you have its complete and expanded digital incarnation, Adore. It is quite easy to see why this typeface was popular. A round script with graceful meaty curves is rarely found and can be used in plenty of applications. Wedding paraphernalia, chapter titles, posters, poetry, book covers, religious literature... you name it, Adore can fit it. Aside from its totality being unmatched by currently available designs, Adore also possesses some of the most unique and imaginative letter shapes. The narrow loops on the B, P and R, the minuscule-like Z, the looped b and d, the descending h... all these shapes contribute to a breathtaking and adorable calligraphic work unlike any other. Stagen is a cloth with a length ranging from 5-10 meters and a width of about 15 cm which is usually used by traditional Javanese women as part of the traditional kebaya dress. The stagen is wrapped around the stomach to help maintain posture and "lock" the jarik cloth on the kebaya. Stagen existed before World War II in Indonesia and became an elegance in the harsh world at that time. EraMax 123 is a multi-layered display geometric sans serif, meant to be set BIG, for large, colourful statements. It's the perfect face for packaging, posters & branding, where a strong, colourful voice is needed... Did I mention posters? The "Max" in EraMax comes from the ultra bold weight, but also, and mainly as a tip of the hat to Peter Max, the designer and artist, known for creating so many images which have come to be emblematic of the sixties and seventies. The bold gradient effects in some of his posters were the inspiration behind the dotted and striped layers. This font's vintage flavour truly stand out in a retro setting, but also has a modern flavour that lends it the flexibility to work well in a more contemporary context. This is the second of what is to be an extended family of typefaces based on the original hand painted signage found in the T. H. & B Railway station in Hamilton Ontario, a classic Art Moderne building, designed by the New York architectural firm of Fellheimer and Wagner for the Toronto Hamilton and Buffalo Railway line and completed in 1933.

Petale is my new elegant experimental typeface I'd love to present. At the beginning, I was intended to create a bold wide font, I started sketching options and came out with the letter 'M' design first. I thought it may be interesting and had continued developing the style with letters N, O, etc., spending hours on some letters to match the design and my vision. I liked how it looked (especially digits) and added different weighs. And it came out pretty stylish. Guaruja Grotesk is the first Tipogra Fio family for headlines & body copy. The grotesque form factor is much inspired in the Modernism movement from the mid of 20th Century but the Italic weight is a great cursive contrast aside the Roman ones so you can make very brutalist layouts or craft humanist projects, without losing the communication between all the family. Do not be afraid to type words with uppercase I and lowercase L because this last one has its own personality so do others glyphs like Italic lowercase G, Y and K and the straight corners in the Roman uppercase A, K, V, W, X, Y and Z. The same curves and corners are transferred to the numbers, symbols and so on. If your text is in a latin alphabet even though has lots of diacritcs, Guaruja may get it done! If you’re making a mathematical equation, it also can make it. If there’s a signaling project with lots of destinations, trust the arrows to help with together with the whole family.

Check out Mr Gabe in motion! Mr Gabe is a typeface designed to dance. Not that it’s a flamboyant display face, but that it has a liveliness, especially in its heavier weights, that dances across the page. Bronto is a typeface that mutated many times: it went from being morphologically conventional, to have soft features, to finally have some inverted contrasts that made it more dynamical; but all this without losing sight of the meaning of a typefamily, and the aim pursued by this work: Bronto doesn’t behave as a piece of art, but as a tool. Be it a blessing or a curse, when a type designer sees a shape that could be interpreted as a letter, his/her mind is off and running. My parents loved to travel; Dad drove to Florida seven different years, winding on (barely) two-lane “highways” clinging to the hills of Kentucky and Tennessee.
