‘Пивная’ (Pivnaya) means ‘bar’ or ‘brewhouse’ in Russian. Pivnaya Latin is a display font published by Roman Type. Initially designed for a poster, the family quickly turned multi-script. In 2019, the global design community is busy celebrating the centennial of Bauhaus, silently triggering the question as to if or how the phenomenon matters in the lives we lead today, or whether it could rather be reduced to mere historic purposes. At that point, I found myself falling into the Bauhaus trap myself, preparing a typeface design workshop for a group of Lithuanian and Russian students. But by a typing error, I accidently made Google translate ‘Brauhaus’ (brewhouse) instead of ‘Bauhaus’. That is why I called this family ‘Pivnaya’ in the end. To design this font, Crackle, I was inspired by an advertisement in the polish weekly "Tygodnik Powszechny" from 1938. From a few letters I have created an entire typeface - uppercase characters - in crackled and uncrackled versions.

The Brazzari Pro AOE is an unusual but fun geometric typestyle design. It is the historical revival and elaboration of the "Bizarre" typeface created by MacKellar, Smiths, & Jordan Co. in 1884. One of my guilty pleasures is in taking the time to recreate historical typefaces as digital fonts, and expand on their character sets to enable them to be used more widely than their limited originals. A lot of incredible historical typestyles created as wood or metal type with bare bones character sets have been lost or only exist as limited specimen proofs in old books. These typefaces may have more niché uses than modern typefaces, but I believe it is important nonetheless to preserve these typefaces for future generations. These typefaces, if nothing else, can often inspire new creations.

For more details download “The Dynascript Manual” from the Gallery Section. What is Dynascript? Dynascript is the slanted script cousin of Dynatype. It shares many of the characteristics of it’s sibling, but is drawn entirely from scratch and has it’s own unique character. To some it may be reminiscent of various mid-century neon signage, and of sign writing, Speedball alphabets and even baseball scripts. The design of Dynascript also takes some cues from a historical typographic curiosity that began in Germany in the ‘20s and which lasted into the ‘60s—when Photo-Lettering gave it the name "Zip-Top". Basically it was believed to be the wave of the future—that by weighting an alphabet heavier in its top half, one could increase legibility and reading speed. The jury’s still out on whether or not there’s any validity to this claim, but I think you’ll agree that in the context of this design, the heavier weighting at the top of the letters helps to create some uniquely pleasing forms, and a script unlike any other. Typesetters across the planet will also be able to set copy in their language of choice. This is the 100th font released by CheapProFonts, and I wanted to make something special - so I have chosen to upgrade one of the most popular free fonts ever: the one and only Scriptina by the infamous Fredrick “Apostrophe” Nader! After first cleaning up the outlines, spacing and kerning, Scriptina Pro has been expanded with a set of alternate letters without the loops and swashes, using the OpenType contextual alternates feature to switch them around automatically to avoid too many overlapping and repeating elements. You can also manually turn off the loops and swashes with the OpenType titling and swash features respectively. The originals alternate letters have been incorporated as stylistic alternates (and stylistic set 02) and the ligatures as discretionary ligatures if you should want them. The alternate non-script lowercase z is programmed as stylistic set 01. In addition Scriptina Pro has been given the usual CheapProFonts large multilingual character set, of course. I hope many will enjoy the improvements and additional language support. And, naturally: it is still free! Created for a skateboard shop logo Sugo is a headline font with a blocky shape, a freestyle finish and a street attitude. Its high readibility and contemporary feel make it the right typeface to mix personality and dynamism.

A pretty handwriting typeface. Smooth and feminine. You'll find an alternate "r" and "s" (Option 9 and Option 10 on the keyboard) which have a beginning stroke to achieve a finished look. Try it and see for yourself.

Wooden font block. Taken from the typesetting department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. All the letters were printed on paper, scanned and polished on the computer. It’s very detailed font, which are suitable for large prints.

A Hebrew sans font inspired by the Latin letters of font Tahoma. Teom serves as a more polished and harmonious substitute for Tahoma's default Hebrew, and also as an independent and elegant Hebrew font for titles and short texts.

Kiks is the Danish name for biscuit. Just like a biscuit this font throws its crums in every direction with curvy, bold letters. A display font made for headlines and everything else that needs to be visually loud. Enjoy!

The name is danish, and can’t really be translated into English, but its someone who entertains during breaks or just a common funny person! Made with a rough brush and random brushstrokes. Nobody really knows what a "pauseklovn" is up to! :)

ZarHand began as my "speedball" showcard lettering font, used when the boss brought in a pile of urgent work at the end of the day. We would get out our "4 o'clock brushes" hoping to finish at a reasonable hour.

Modularico was initially designed in 1991 for the logotype of a sound recording studio in Kremenchuk city. At the end of 2008 I decided to make a digital version of this font. Final design of font was finished in June 2009.

My family and I recently bought a fixer-upper farm from the 1930 and I have been renovating and building for the last three+ months. I have a lot on my mind (as you can imagine), so I write little notes to keep track of what I need to do. Of course, since I’m often in the middle of something that needs to be done NOW, these notes are kind of messy. I just finished the bathroom and toilet upstairs, so I could actually finish a new font! Scribble Note is an ode to all those messy notes I wrote. Comes with a cool Doodle pack as well!
