A DISTANT SOIL is a classic bold and beautiful science fiction/fantasy comic book series by creator, writer, artist AND letterer Colleen Doran! A DISTANT SOIL is being remastered and re-released by those awfully nice chaps at Image Comics and Colleen commissioned Comicraft to create the definitive bold and beautiful Colleen Doran font, based on her original pen lettering, so that she might re-letter the series without excessive eye strain or hand cramp.

This font was inspired by the old form of the so called "Kurrentschrift" German handwriting, based on late medieval cursive. It is also known as "Alte Deutsche schrift" ("Old German script"). It was taught in German schools until 1941, when Adolf Hitler decided to forbid it. As it is a little hard to read, we are proposing here two versions: the "pure" Kurrentschrift, and an adapted "Easy" one, with simplified difficult characters.

Rulinover is a serif font inspired by adrenaline-pumping gothic horror movies and games. With that comes Rulinover as a supporting tool to support typography based on genres of horror adventure, challenge and dare in a particular game or film. And also supported by many alternative ligature and letter concepts that are useful in making logotypes or monogram styles. For that, Rulinover is also equipped with various languages such as Latin 1 & 2.

Norwich Aldine Reverse is a font of "streamer type" (reversed out type used for banners or streamers) originally designed around 1872. Norwich Aldine is slightly lighter and more open than Aldine. It features medium stroke contrast, heavy serifs, and large rounded bracketing (where the stems meet the serifs). Our version is based on wood type of unknown origin. We created dozens of special ligatures to reduce problematic kerning encountered with a monospaced reversed type.

This font is a very new typeface from 2022. It is based on biro pen writings. The name Hanka is the nick of the designer’s daughter. The family has seven weights (straight and oblique), which are OpenType sets with PostScript curves. Features include ligatures (classical and discretionary), number formats (tabular/proportional, lining/old style), fractions, old-style formats, stylistic alternates, and kerning. May you be happy with this set when creating advertisements or artistic content.

MayPole is a contemporary, 21st century, sans serif font, that contains an eclectic mix of elements from the 20th century. It combines gentle curves with base and caps-line transgressions but is substantially more rounded than in most commercial-style sans serif faces. Terminal strokes are slightly rounded and occasional elements are strongly rounded. MayPole is readable and can be successfully used for presentations, magazines etc, and for display use in newspapers, advertising and promotions.

This rugged typeface is based on letterforms in the Cherokee Syllabary, reputedly devised by a gentleman named Sequoyah in the early nineteenth century. In addition, Native American petroglyphs—some authentic Cherokee designs, some from other tribes—are included in several positions. The name of the typeface, however, is authentic Cherokee, and can be loosely translated as “Yo! Wuzzup?” Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Here’s a revised and updated version of one of my oldies, based on the typeface Chic, designed by Morris Fuller Benton. The addition of small caps, improved kerning, and an expanded character set make this one an excellent choice for projects that demand grace, elegance and a bit of mischievous fun. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

This rugged rascal is based on at old ATF “original” design called “Hearst” (although Frederic Goudy claimed it was a pirated version of one of his designs). Its commanding, rough-hewn character makes it suitable for headlines, but its large x-height makes it practical for subheads as well. Available in roman and italic versions. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode 1252 Latin and Unicode 1250 Central European character sets.

Mercury Script is an action packed type family of three weights. Click on Swash, Contextual or Stylistic alternates in any Open type savvy application for plenty of extra grooviness and combine with Mercury Ornaments for superb results. Turn on Small Caps to activate a complete set of block capitals designed to go with the font. Mercury Script is based loosely on hand lettering found in a vintage lingerie advertisement, only containing the words “light control”.

DALEK PINPOINT is a clean and precise version of K-Type’s distressed DALEK typeface, a small caps face with overtones of Greek, Phoenician and Runic alphabets, based on Dalek comic book lettering from the 1960s. The package includes Regular and Bold weights, plus an Italic and Bold Italic which are optically corrected obliques. The fonts contain a full complement of Latin Extended-A characters, and now include Greek capitals and small caps.

Along Sans font family has evolved to reflect geometry-based glyph design and modern typography trends. The appropriate transformation of the lowercase letters a, d, and u alleviates the tension of the grotesque temperament. All of the glyphs have been refined to focus more on balance and rhythm, making it a smart tool for designers. The typeface was baptized as "Caldense" in order to honor the city of Caldas da Rainha, a small city in Portugal, the typography's birth place. It has three weights, Regular, Demi Bold and Bold and it is a sans serif and grotesque. Each character was based on a grid and was built in modules, having round edges and straight finishes. The font can be used in titles and normal text while being easy to read.

Slice is an experimental, circular, display typeface designed by Superfried. Slice, like its big brother Slash, also features key incisions to form the glyphs. Unlike Slash, Slice is much simpler in design based on basic geometric forms and features both upper and lowercase. Static looks almost like it was stamped on paper: the black color is not evenly distributed and the background comes through the letters and consciously irregular forms reinforce the effect. The characters do not all have the same height, nor do they stand straight and regularly on the base line. Static is a robust font with bold, rounded serifs and is best used for headlines and short texts in point sizes of 12 and larger.

Inspired by that iconic sign in the Hollywood Hills, this font is a must for film buffs, movie lovers and designers who want to bring a bit of big screen glamour to their projects. It’s a caps only face, but by using the upper and lower case keys type can be set above or below the base line, thus creating the signature stagger effect. Linotype Down Town is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. The cheerful character of this fun font from German designer Critzler is perfect for comics or posters. The figures dance across the base line, swinging between thick and thin, big and small. Linotype Down Town is intended exclusively for headlines and short texts in at least 18 point.

Octo is square bold/display font with italics. Letterform is bit quirky and square shaped, it can fill all kind of spaces. Extatica is an eclectic geometric display sans-serif typeface with narrow capitals. It comes in 8 weights with corresponding italics, enriched with several stylistic alternates and OpenType features. Eckhardt Signwriter JNL is based on a casual display lettering face popular with many sign painters and show card writers of yesteryear, best suited for large print projects. Jeff Levine has named this font (along with others in a series) after the late Albert Eckhardt, Jr. (1929-2005) who had owned Allied Signs in Miami, Florida from 1959 until his passing. Al was a talented lettering artist and a good friend to Jeff.

Festivo Font Family is a handmade layered font which includes several textures, shadows. Different font types can be created using various combinations of Festivo Fonts and colors. All fonts of Festivo letters are created as hand-drawn design based on F.L. NO:8 Font's Letters. The fonts No:16, No:17 and No:19 have the same metric and kerning structure than the other Festivo Fonts except No:18. So each one of these 3 fonts are a layer. But they can also be use as wide spaced fonts. No:18 is specific with its metric and kerning structure which was formed by No:17 but No:18 is its bold version. It was designed as a supplemental font. Retch - what's in a name? Retch is a unique typeface, heaving with character. It is scary and grotesque and is made to look like letters scratched onto a metal surface. Retch spits out most Latin based languages.

Pickfair JNL is based on the vintage wood type Vandenburgh Tuscan (circa 1867), and gets its name from the mansion owned by Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford—two of the founding partners of United Artists movie studios.
