ITC Zinzinnati is based on a font called Ohio, released in 1924 by Die Schriftguss A.G. Typical of the Plakatstil letterforms of the time, the original font had a rough outline, as if drawn with a brush. Nick Curtis has smoothed the rough edges, which enhances the design's playful curves and engaging charm. As for the name: it's the punchline to an old vaudeville routine that starts with the question, Name a city in Ohio that begins with a 'Z.'" Pie in the face, comin' atcha!"

This decorative font is based on Cyrillic Vyaz of XV-XVI centuries. This type of letters were used as display faces in sacred texts. In Vyaz, the letters are characteristically fitted to each other so the letter sequences look as one solid ornamental frieze. The font is rich in discretionary ligatures which help to accentuate the style of Vyaz. In addition to letters and standard characters there is a number of monograms and Christian symbols. Pixeloza 02 is a pixel-style, grid-based, display typeface. This is another version of Pixeloza type. Compared to Pixeloza 01, it is characterized by a more slender form, the letters are taller and narrower, which makes the font lighter. This curly, swirly antique offering is based on a Victorian-era typeface called "Fillet". Opening and closing flourishes can be found at the brace and bracket positions, and the ribbon effect can be carried between words by using the underscore character in place of a space. Due to the highly ornate nature of this font, it does not contain math operators, fractions or superior numbers. The lettering and 100 extras for this font set, the third in P22’s Frank Lloyd Wright series, are derived from letterforms and decorative embellishments found in Wright’s early work (1893–1910) and in his book, The House Beautiful (1896–97). While designing ITC Spirit, Patty King was influenced by classic typeface styles. The letter forms are clearly based on those of the Unziale, which, like ITC Spirit, is also composed of only capital letters. Hints of the Asian brush script style also show in this font. The irregular outer contours are best highlighted in larger point sizes and give the font the look of handwriting. Based on one of the many hand lettered typefaces found with in the 1960 edition of Sam Welo’s “Studio Handbook for Artists and Advertisers”, Poster Slabserif JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Desk Job JNL is an Art Deco-influenced typeface based on hand lettering found on the packaging of a vintage Hotchkiss No. 52 stapling pliers. The typeface is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Stencil Set JNL takes the 2011 release of Stencil Mark JNL (a spur-serif letter based on a vintage set of brass stencils) and transitions it to the design of a clean, bold sans typeface.

Almost every type designer feels the need, from time to time, to interrupt his or her serious work on complex text type systems for something more playful. In Luc(as)'s case this has often meant designing more typefaces. In the early 1990s, while working on Thesis, Luc(as) drew several display faces which were based on the shapes of TheSans but were either de(con)structive versions or experimental variations. Jesus Loves You All is a heretic thorny typeface vaguely based on the outlines of TheSans. Jesus Loves You was given a remarkable three-dimensional treatment in Abbott Miller's Dimensional Type project.

Citrine is a study in curves, based upon word-processing and in-game text. A tall lowercase makes for easy reading, curved joints give it friendliness, and broad spacing delivers distinctive all-caps treatments. Here’s a downloadable PDF specimen. Citrine’s basic idea began as “a Havelock for reading.” Essential geometry delivers a sense of harmony, and forms sit broadly next to each other to be easily read, even onscreen and very small. HS Almisk Serif is a display typeface. It can be used for titles and graphic projects, which support Arabic and. It has been created based on modern kufi style. It enjoys flexibility between sharp and curved lines in the structure of characters. This supports with a beautiful appearance and wonderful geometric structure. This typeface with its diversity of (5) weights is intended to be an attempt for a good addition to Arabic typography.

POLIGRA is an experimental typefamily and a homage to traditional printing of the pre-war era in Poland. Most of the typefaces based on traditional printing are either clean, geometric typefaces or completely distressed lettering. The POLIGRA project explored everything in between. The letters, cleaned up, redesigned where necessary, and defined in their entirety, have a friendly and warm character, as if taken out of the press. The selection of typefaces was based on theater and sports posters. All of them have blocky and geometric character, each of them is an all-caps typeface. The POLIGRA family includes 13 typefaces.

Xotor is a double styled typeface family destined for use in titling and headlines. The main style, the Triline weight, is a modular typeface composed of three strokes and is best used in large sizes. For smaller bodies of text, the second Regular style is based on the same letter construction but in a simple, solid stroke. Both weights can either be used individually or combined to add extra effect to any layout. With an extended Latin language support, Xotor covers most Latin based scripts and equally features a range of Opentype features, from ligatures, alternative letters or different styles of numerals.

Bookkeeper JNL is based on the lighter weight version of R. Hunter Middleton's 'Karnak', produced in 1936 for Ludlow. "Karnak" itself was based on the geometric slab-serif "Memphis", designed in 1929 by Dr. Rudolf Wolf and released originally by the Stempel Type Foundry of Germany. According to Wikipedia, "Karnak" "was named after the Karnak Temple Complex in Egypt, in reference to the fact that early slab serifs were often called "Egyptians" as an exoticism by nineteenth-century type founders." Available in both regular and oblique versions, Bookkeeper JNL serves well as both a headline and text type face.

Zirkle is a monoline font in which the upper-case letters were designed from circles or bits of circles, with interior straight lines. It was the first font I designed in Fontographer when Fontographer was still in version 2 and the most advanced Macintosh was the Macintosh II. I have heard from people who like it, but it was designed not to meet some need but to play with the geometry of circle-based letters. ZirkStressed is a “squared” version that was the result of playing with a font distortion program, which in this case produced a result that seemed interesting.
