The Comic-Script by ingoFonts In the past cartoons used to be lettered by hand. Hardly anyone does this today. The reason is, because hardly anyone has nice handwriting these days, so there are practical advantages in having a special font. However the font should still look like it’s been written by hand. Well, most script fonts don’t meet this requirement. The LeDrôle Lettering is a computer font, but closely resembles genuine handwriting. The model for the LeDrôle Lettering is my personal handwriting, as can be seen on the example of the Biró Script, which is also an ingoFont. The habit of capitalization comes from the Romanic and Anglo-Saxon countries. Depending on the purpose they are designed in three significantly bolder weights. In order for the typeface to actually look handwritten, it needs to have clearly visible irregularities. These are not found only in the shapes of the individual letters. Even though LeDrôle Lettering is all in capital letters, the characters of uppercase and lowercase letters are clearly different. Additionally, many alternative shapes are used, which are automatically applied when the OpenType “Ligatures” feature is activated. Thus, there are no identical double letters or numerals, and many character combinations are defined as ligatures with alternative forms.

Ladoga — one of the most beautiful Russian designs from the soviet period. The type family was developed in Polygraphmash in 1968 by Anatoly Shchukin on the base of his own lettering for book covers and titles. It was one of the first attempts in Cyrillic typography to create text face in a style of renaissance antiqua. Stylization to broad pen calligraphy resembles early forms of Latin types that were based on handwritten humanistic minuscule. Unique in its character set digital version of Ladoga was designed by Viktor Kharik on the base of artworks of Shchukin for ParaType. The family consists of roman and italic styles in text and display versions. Character set includes characters of original shapes as well as more modern alternatives. Besides there are a set of additional characters, old style figures and small caps. The fonts cover all modern languages based on Latin and Cyrillic scripts, Greek alphabet (including polytonic extension), Hebrew and historical Cyrillic letters. Ladoga is gorgeous in display sizes and pretty readable in texts. It’s well suitable for fiction literature, historical books, art criticism, religious and philologist works. It will be extreme helpful for multilingual issues and for inclusions into body text historical passages in original orthography. The family was released in 2010.

Optimum readability in small bodies with scarce interlining, under poor printing conditions such as in newspapers, where velocity and bad quality’s irregular surface papers, truly distort strokes was the challenge taken. Pobla was designed with this in mind, hence Patau present a hybrid between the conventional strokes of a serif’s classical roman type and markedly “fractured” forms inside, providing a unique personality to this typographic family, where calligraphic’s humanistic axis is visibly broken with the straight axis of the fabricated letters. Subtle details in the serifs, give it a modern look to a classic skeleton. Very pronounced ink traps get the shapes rounded in the printed product to artificially increase the average medium-eye and promote reading in the small sizes it was designed for. An absolutely handwriting look for the italics, where the rupture of the stroke marks a white’s subtle change to only whisper in the printing surface a slight difference, but without fuss and so not to break the rhythm of reading. And as we are used to, a complete set of OpenType features, where you will find small caps, fractions, ligatures, old numerals and tabular, discretionary ligatures and support for 220 languages; and all available in twelve weights to meet the needs of any newspaper printing.

This all started with a love for Minister. This is a font designed by Carl Albert Fahrenwaldt in 1929. In the specimen booklet there’s a scan from Linotype’s page many years ago. They no longer carry the font. I’ve gone quite a ways from the original. It was dark and a bit heavy. But I loved the look and the readability. This came to a head when I started my first book on all-digital printing written from 1994-1995, and published early in 1996. I needed fonts to show the typography I was talking about. At that point oldstyle figures, true small caps, and discretionary ligatures were rare. More than that text fonts for book design had lining OR oldstyle figures, lowercase OR small caps—never both. So, I designed the Diaconia family using the Greek word for minister. It was fairly rough. I knew very little. I later redesigned and updated Diaconia into Bergsland Pro—released in 2004. It was still rough (though I impressed myself). Now, with 4-font Biblia Serif family 13 years later, I’ve cleaned up, made the fonts more consistent internally, added more functional OpenType features, and brought the fonts into the 21st century. I used the 2017 set of features: small caps, small cap figures, oldstyle figures, fractions, lining figures, ligatures and discretionary ligatures. These are fonts designed for book production and work well for text or heads. Finally, in 2021, I went over the fonts entirely and remade them in Glyphs.

Evergreen is Koziupa and Paul going all Zeitgeist after a few Malbec drinks. Two fonts praise nature from when the lights go out to the crack of dawn, and vice versa. That's 24/7/365 of wild leafy Kumbaya. Even butterflies and flowers were mystified so much they had to get in there. Evergreen is local, organic, and certified free trade. At some point we wrote down the name of the jungle where it originated, then lost the parchment in the hot springs a few hours later. But that's immaterial. Crank up your Deep Forest sound, prep your Earthtone and Foliage palettes, and get into the big herbal.

Mode is a typographic experiment exploring how same sans serif form adapts to different circumstances and what are the possibilities in variations of Thin / Black, Contrast / Negative contrast. Two main groups are Mode 0 (with rounded shapes) and Mode 1 (with angular shapes). Each of them varies from Thin to Black in six cuts, in the same manner it varies from contrast shapes to negative contrast. Mode comes in total of 72 cuts regular and italic, it speaks majority of Latin based languages and is equipped with smcp, c2sc, Old style and all caps numerals. Mode is made by DAGGERtypo during a period of 2019/2020

The other day, I was cooking a curry and I suddenly realised that we, as a family, eat a lot of meat. At home we do like meat, but given the state our world is in right now, we cannot continue eating meat like there is no tomorrow. As a result, I am hunting the internet right now for good vegetarian recipes (if you have one you’d like to share, then please contact me!). Tournedos is a beefy font family: a chunky all caps set of fonts - and a leaner set to counter and complement this rather heavy dish. And do eat your greens!

Bouwsma Script, based on Philip Bouwsma's own handwriting, was originally released in 1994 and settled for nothing less than being an instant classic. One of Bouwsma's widely used works in the 1990s, Bouwsma Script finds its home now at Canada Type, where it was updated with the Euro symbol and complete support for Turkish, Baltic, and Central and Eastern European languages. It now also comes in all popular font formats, including OpenType. Real, casual, friendly, and loaded with the designer's artistic touch, Bouwsma Script can be seen around the globe on plenty of store signs, book covers, product packaging, promotional posters and a variety of other paraphernalia.

The building of this electricity production foundry is half hidden under the water, but the visible above-water part astonishes your sense. It is a construction almost 1,5 km length dammed out the powerful river stream. Besides thousand of electricity conduction lines supports it bears also the highway and the railroad. From a faraway distance the train seems like a caterpillar that has climbed up the stout tree. There are also the navigable sluices, the flood channels and other erections. The idea of this typeface outlines arrived to the authors exactly on the viewing platform, under the impression of the waterfalls, which are escaping from the dam womb, falling from almost 50 meters altitude and becoming white-haired during this flight. We should explain the font name meaning. "Gorod" is "city of" in Russian and Volgograd is the old, big and famous Russian city. The Volga hydroelectric power station of a name of XXII congress of the CPSU caused the Volgograd sea formation. It expands of 14 km width and more than 600 km along the Volga river-bed. But HEPS isn't the sole Volgograd sight. There are many interesting places here. The most known tourist sight, the visit card of Volgograd is the Mamaev Hill. Being here You can see almost all 100 kilometers of city length. Due to its geographical position, Mamaev Hill has got a great importance during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). It became and still is the Main Height of Russia. Soviet people have built the huge stately memorial ensemble here. There are many other witnesses of the heroic past of Volgograd: the Alley of Heroes, the Perished Fighters Square, the Soldiers Field and others. The line of tank turrets is stretched out along all town not far from Volga bank. It marks the line, where fascist troops was stopped in 1943. It is very amazingly when You dive under the ground on a usual tram. Volgograders have built a few underground station for the high-speed tramway. The river tram need a quarter of an hour to get an island in the Volga. And You need the same time to walk across the river station. The Volga-Don navigable channel starts from Volgograd. There are planetarium, circus, some theatres, many museums in Volgograd. One of football matches of Euro-2004 qualifying round took a place in the "Rotor" stadium in Volgograd. Volgograd holds the longest - above 50 km - park in the world. Its avenues, squares, embankments are beautiful, Volgograd central districts are built in unique architecture style called the Stalin Empire. No, it's not the complete set but a great way to send out invitations for Mah Jongg Parties, Notices, Posters, Banners and Flyers. Here's a menu of what's contained and take a look at the Character Chart for some close-ups. It may seem complicated but not really. Shift, Alphabet keys will give you caps Mah Jongg characters, tiles beside a letter of the alphabet. The "lower case" alphabet is the same letter font used in the caps but without a tile. The regular keys "1 through 9" are the actual Crack tiles with the correct oriental glyph. Numerals to match the "lower case" are found using Shift and the Number keys. The $ sign is the Forward Slash and the "¢" sign is the Back Slash Dragons: Left & Right brackets Nice One Bam symbols: Shift, Left & Right brackets Hitting Option & the keys, "A,S,F & C" will reveal attractive flower designs. Punctuation, period, comma, quotes, etc. are in their usual locations. You may want to print this menu as a handy guide. The license agreement stipulates that you may disassemble and use elements from this font to create colorful art as in the illustration shown with the font listing.

Here's another old-timer that needed a lowercase, so we drew one. Originally issued as a caps-only type by The American Type Founders Company about 1898, this font found its way into Craftsman period design. It was the inspiration for Galadriel, a dry transfer sheet alphabet.

Bloktor Mosaik JNL from Jeff Levine was at first a straightforward brick design sent to Typodermic's Ray Larabie for preview. Ray decided to run it through a filter to see what would happen, resulting in a font that emulates the look of cut stone or tile.

Continuo is a fascinating, all-uppercase display typeface wherein the contour of each letterform is described with a single, continuous line. The challenges presented by that simple idea are similar to constructing letterforms with neon tubing. For example, when the strokes of a letterform need to be heavier than the width of the neon tube, two tubes are employed to create the outer contours, effectively leaving an unfilled void inside the stroke. Also, since neon tubes cannot be broken apart as they trace the contours, they must follow a path that, for reasons of economy and to avoid optical massing (or bright spots in neon), the tubes are not crossed. So too, the construction of Continuo follows. The newly updated Continuo now has alternate forms of letters A-Z available in the lowercase a-z and by extension those alternates are also present in the lowercase diacritics. The new Latin Plus glyph repertoire of Continuo contains almost 900 glyphs, supporting 224 languages, including Vietnamese and multiple African languages. A handy set of arrows and additional international currency symbols were added as well. The name is derived from the musical term “Basso Continuo” meaning an almost constant bass line, an integral part of most musical melodies. As an in-line display type, Continuo is ideal for headlines and most oversized applications and its unique appearance commands attention from viewers.

Le Havre is a geometric sans serif inspired by the golden era of the passenger ship, when getting to your destination was a delight in and of itself. In 1864, a new edition of ‘Labèrnia dictionary’ was published. The book is commonly known under this name as a homage to the author. The typeface used in this publication has been taken as the main reference for the design of a new type family. Labernia is a didone design that includes several variations in width, weight, and contrast. Labernia is a stylish typeface, which pushes its design features to the limit.
