K-haus 205 is inspired by the work of graphic designer and typographer, Herbert Bayer, during his time at the Bauhaus around 100 years ago — work that kick-started graphic design as we know it, to this day. It owes something to the simple geometry of Bayer’s hand-drawn, ‘universal typeface’, updated and expanded to deliver a clean, balanced, geometric sans for today. This time the font's name is meaningless. Maduki doesn't mean 'cool' in Swahili, nor does it mean 'cup cake' in Sranantongo. It is just a nice name. Maduki is a playful font, created with one of my 2 year old son's marker pens (the 'no stain, wash-out' variety), a couple of cups of coffee and a whole bunch of 'speculaas' cookies. Now you're wondering what speculaas is, right? I'll tell you later - in a couple of fonts... Anyway, there's not much meaningful to say about Maduki font. It is nice, it is cute and it comes with alternates!

I began my work on Emona while still struggling with Birka. I took the superellyptic form as the basic shape, and that gives the typeface some of its characteristics. It is strictly vertical. It is easy to classify it in the same section as Bodoni & Company. Emona is what Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, was called in the Roman days. Emona was released in 1992.

Veneribe -the Venerable face- is an experiment in what many today might call 'grunge', though we at Greater Albion would probably prefer to talk of rustic (or if we're feeling really old-fashioned rustick) charm. It's a derivative of our Clementhorpe family, and aims to combine a battered antique look with the charm of that decorative Roman family. Regular and oblique forms are offered.

This lettering style is unusual in that combines aspects of several lettering styles. It is essentially a Germanic Blackletter but with many romanized capital letters and also features an italic slant along with some italic lower case traits. Flavium is the reconstruction of the typographic character used in the engravings of the marble street name sign of Rome from about 1970 until the end of the eighties. Spur Wide JNL was modeled from an example of hand lettering from the antique French alphabet book L'Art du Tracé Rationnel de la Lettre. Hasan Hiba is an Arabic display typeface. It is useful for titles and graphic projects The font is based on the simple lines of Fatemic Kufi calligraphy. Hasan Hiba won the 5th place in Linotype’s first Arabic Type Design Competition. It supported Arabic, Persian and Urdu. Pacific Atoll JNL is a stylized slab serif type design based on the movie title lettering for the 1942 wartime film “Pacific Rendezvous”, and is available in both regular and oblique versions. According to Wikipedia, “…an atoll (sometimes known as a coral atoll), is a ring-shaped coral reef, including a coral rim that encircles a lagoon partially or completely. There may be coral islands or cays on the rim.”

The Vale Press was a contemporary of Willam Morris's Kelmscott Press. The types used by the Vale Press were designed by artist Charles Ricketts, who also supervised the design and printing of Vale Press books. The main type used, Vale, was based on the Jenson 15th century roman type style. The King's Fount was an experimental semi-uncial font based on the Vale type. The King's Fount was designed in 1903 for the Vale edition of the 15h century poem "The Kingis Quair". This semi-uncial font evokes old English and Anglo-Saxon lettering.
