Greenwood is a monospaced, cursive typewriter script, based on a typewritten letter from a Mr J. G. Greenwood Esq. to a branch of the National Westminster bank in Oxfordshire, Great Britain, dated 6th June 1904. Trinculo is a cursive font which combines traditional letter forms with ridiculously ornate embellishments and flourishes. Layal is an Arabetic type design with a calligraphic flavor. It follows the guidelines of the Mutamathil Taqlidi type style with one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined in Unicode Standards version 5.1, and one additional, final-position, glyph for each Arabic letter that is normally connected with other letters from both sides in traditional cursive Arabic strings. Layal employs variable x-height values. It includes all required Lam-Alif ligatures and uses ligature substitutions and selected marks positioning but it does not use any other glyph substitutions or forming. Text strings composed using types of this family are non-cursive with stand-alone isolated glyphs. Tatweel (or Kashida) glyph is a zero width space. Keying it before any glyph will display that glyph isolated form. Keying Tatweel before Alif Lam Lam Ha will display the Allah ligature. Eclectotype undertook extensive research* in this and the results are in! To cut a long story short, friendliness in sans serif fonts can be summed up in two words – short and fat. Basically, think Danny DeVito in letter form. The shortness in Amica Pro is achieved (somewhat counterintuitively) by pushing up the x-height. Overskrift is headline in danish. My mind was set on making a font suitable for headlines, and that is exactly what this font is useful for - but, I found it suitable for many other things as well. I was thinking about packaging, posters, postcards and other things that needs a super legible handmade font! Muscle came from the original sketches for Sneakers. At the time my concentration with Sneakers was to create a curvier, chunkier display. I left Muscle behind, thinking it was too masculine. Rather than discard those original sketches, I decided to make it even heavier, reduced the total number of weights, create a function small cap system that when integrated with the lowercase makes a great biform component for short display settings.

My 7 year old son is reading a book called ‘Spees De Ruimtewees’ (Spees, the Galactic Orphan), so when I needed a name for this font family, I didn’t have to think a lot! Flying Saucer is a family of 2 fonts: a rough(ish) sans serif and a script font. Both fonts come with Italics. Use Flying Saucer for anything space related (or whatever you feel like using it for).

The “Kiez“ is an old school style font designed by Elena Albertoni in 2016. Inspired by shop and bar signage of the sixties and seventies, which can still be found today in the so called “Kiez“ in Hamburg St. Pauli or in one or another “Kiez“ in Berlin, which means neighborhood here. It also has a cinematic touch, again: think of the sixties and seventies or your favorite b-movie.

Grossesbuch is a modern sans serif typeface. The starting point of which was the sketchbook pages. Using a wide-nib nib, I turned the nib so that the stroke was always wide. The sketchbook pages looked like posters. Later, having become interested in fonts, I decided to transfer the drawn letters and make a typeface. I think that the range of use is various accidents: posters, headlines, postcards, captions.

Stephen Chick, of In Your Typeface Productions (IYTP) foundry, has created this rather prickly type design. Although for display, it is surprisingly legible at smaller point sizes. There is an Inline version, and also an Inline Extra version, which has only the inner contours of the Inline itself, which can be combined with the Regular to create cool two-color effects.
