Niccolo Niccoli (1364-1437) was a wealthy bibliophile and an acclaimed scribe, in Florence (Italy). He was one of the most important Italian calligrapher in this early time of rediscovering Roman script. Of rare accomplishment was his adaptation of the so called Italian humanistic minuscule script. We were inspired from his late work to create this present Font. We have added a lot of accented and other characters (U/V, I/J...) who was not existing in the original and replacing "long s" by a small "s" for a modern use. The OTF encoding was used for intelligent alternates, permitting to use different forms of the same lower case or capital in a single word, reproducing easily the charming variety of a real manual scripture.

Dense and strong, this family is inspired by the lettering on the poster of a short expressionist play by the astonishing and highly skilled Austrian painter, printmaker and writer Oskar Kokoschka in 1909. If the typeface itself is already deeply vigorous, the font programming makes it shine, making great use of OpenType features. Contextual Alternates will cycle alternate glyphs, providing a more realistic handlettered feel. Ligatures will not only trigger special glyphs, but also build new combinations through a smart kerning adjustment. And yet there are also some stylistic alternates to add that extra-twist. Introducing the first typeface by Azure studio, Space 101! Space 101 is a handcrafted chalkboard reminiscent typeface with irregular slender lines and a quirky personality. The inspiration for Space 101 was found in an old signwriting book. The character shapes were updated and improved while still retaining the same charm. SIAS opens a new chapter in Irish vernacular typography: the Andron-2-Irish font family. The genes of the insular typographic heritage have been blended with the timeless classical style of the versatile Andron series. Whereas most Irish-style fonts available more or less stick to ancient designs, Andron-2-EIR is different: it’s an entirely new design in which Irishness meets the beauty of a matured Venetian Roman text face. Envision a new horizon for setting Irish text in its own visual mode! Now you can utilize Italics, Semibold and Small capitals for Irish just as you have been doing in other languages for a long time. But the icing on the cake is the fifth font: Andron Irish Middlecase honours the rich medieval tradition of Ireland by a special uncial-style glyph set. It corresponds to the Andron MC series. Last but not least the Irish type connoisseur will relish this font package for it’s unique utilization of Opentype functionality. In Opentype-aware applications, by just ticking a box you can switch to the special insular forms of s and r. Kevlar was initially inspired by an obscure logo discovered in a 1960s radio-fan magazine. Of immediate interest was that the upper half of the typeface appeared to be a sans while the lower half appeared as a curious blend of a slab serif imbued with a script-like quality. First came Kevlar Bold in 2003, closely followed by its text weight companion Kevlar Regular. The original source of the inspiration as then revisited to develop the third in the set, Kevlar Slab, a truly individual mix of script-like fluency with the heavy weight base of a slab serif.

Radiant font was designed by Robert Hunter Middleton in 1938 and first appeared with the Ludlow Typograph Company. It displays the strong stroke contrast typical of transitional antiquas but has no serifs. It mixes characteristics of the antique style with that of the sans serif and is therefore referred to as a sans serif antiqua. The font Brittanic displays similar characteristics. The slender characters with their high x-heights give Radiant font an elegant, sophisticated look. The finer weights are a good choice for short and middle length texts and the bolder weights are good for headlines.

The Declaration of Independence was authored by Thomas Jefferson, but his is not the classic handwriting on the engrossed copies familiar to most Americans. That belonged to Timothy Matlack, an early patriot who fought in the Revolution, sat as prosecutor at Benedict Arnold’s court martial, and also penned copies of a number of documents for then-General George Washington. Matlack’s script was compact but legible, perfect for the first and most famous of American documents. Now you, too, can write that way. Please note: The font does not include any of the signatures from the Declaration of Independence.

The first development of Karsten typeface was inspired by signs on some old Dutch-buildings in Java. Then in the making, it blends with modern style.
