Whichit contains typefaces designed with a hexagonal motif. The opposite sides of the hexagon are parallel but two of them are longer than the other four. It does not have reflective symmetry so flipping it over a vertical line returns a different appearance. One of these appearances is the basis for WhichIt and the other for WhichItTwo. An image spotted online showed a rendering of a ladies’ fashions storefront that had appeared in the Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Company’s 1939 brochure. The signage consisted of the hand lettered word ‘Apparel’, and was done in a variant of the Art Deco stencil style of lettering that’s most recognizable in Futura Black. From these few sign letters came the inspiration for a digital font of the same name, Apparel JNL – which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Youngblood is a non-connected formal script with tall, sweeping ascenders and two alternates. These alternate forms can be mixed and matched for a custom look, and Youngblood is stronger in weight and is better suited for display work than most script fonts. Although Youngblood looks back to traditional copperplate scripts for inspiration, there is a new and exciting spirit to the design. Abrikos is apricot in danish. A lovely and sweet fruit, often underestimated and not very well known - but if you ask me, it is delicious! The letters were drawn using a small brush, and as you can see, I almost ran out of ink - leaving the letters somewhat rough. I made 4 different versions of each lowercase letter, and these cycle automatically as you type in order to make some randomness. I threw in an extensive set of international characters as well! HWT Bernice is an ornament font system designed by Marian Bantjes. The basic shapes were designed by Bantjes for the Hamilton Wood Type Museum's border stamping machine as a contemporary application for this 150 year old machine, which punches shapes into end grain wood to form continuous border patterns. The digital version expands a bit beyond the punch machine and allows designers to assemble a multitude of options using flipped and rotated variations of these 6 basic shape sets using simple keystrokes.

The Tecn@ Square family were designed to head, enumerate, point out or highlight a point in a writing or plan. In this sense and for this reason, the characters are available only in capital letters and some signs or symbols that could serve such purposes. Among other applications, these characters are used in the personalization of plans, highlighting or indicating parts of the design that facilitate the Descriptive Memory of the plan or the development of a Manual or Installation Instructions.

This seriously styling family of typefaces is based on Dolmen and Zierdolmen, designed by Max Salzmann for the J. G. Schelter & Giesecke foundry of Leipzig in 1922 and 1923. Unlike previous revivals, these fonts remain true to Salzmann’s original designs. The plain version also features all of the standard German ligatures, accessible through the hlig feature, included in the original release. Both versions feature the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, with localization for Lithuanian, Moldovan and Romanian.

Herald Banner is the newest (as at January 2017) of Greater Albion’s ‘Banner’ or ‘Masthead' typeface. It tales the form of letters on a long heraldic banner twined about a central mace. It is offered in two forms- a conventional monochrome typeface and a set of eight interrelated typefaces designated ‘Colour’ 1 through to ‘Colour 8’. These (and indeed the monochrome face) have identical metrics and can be overlaid to produce multi-coloured lettering with the bare minimum of effort.

In the 70's I went out with a girl whose father was a card-carrying member of 3 of the biggest unions in the printing arts. He gave me 2 things, a pre-war Linotype specimen book and an ancient 'how to' lettering book that contained 30 or 40 script specimens from lettering artists of the time. Tiamaria is the developed glyphs of one of these specimens. Tiamaria is the name of one of the islands in the Galapagos chain.

Lewis F. Day, in his Alphabets Old and New, presented these letters as examples of rustic Roman lettering of the first through third centuries, AD. An uppercase-only typeface, most of the lowercase positions are occupied by letterform variants. It should be noted that the name does not refer to a savory dish made from a nocturnal American marsupial; it’s Latin for “I can dance”. REALLY fat faces seem to be popular these days, so here's my take on one. The strokes have been expanded to the brink of illegibility, but the letters remain distinguishable, especially in context. Also included are alternate versions of the letter A—suitable for use as first and last letters in a word— in the ASII circumflex and ASCII tilde positions. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

You'll have to admit this is a rocking font, man. It's Fab AND Gear. Not only that, it's called BackBeat and it's GOT a backbeat -- you can't lose it (not if you back up all your data on a hard drive stored at a separate facility), any old way you choose it (Opentype, PostScript or TrueType). Yes, it's just gotta be Comic Book Fonts, if you want to dance with the folks who got all shook up about these kind of things. Yeah.

In hardware stores across the country are display racks with letters and numbers silk-screened onto self-adhesive aluminum "parallelograms". These handy and durable items have graced countless mailboxes, office doors, hallway signs and automobiles for years. My fellow font designing buddy [Harold Lohner] suggested that I make a font based on this form of lettering as a counterpart to my Mailbox Letters JNL (also based on self-adhesive signage product)... and now his suggestion takes shape as a digital font... Aquinas is distinguished by the contrast between its upright, generous capitals and its narrow, slanted lower case letters which look almost like italics. The combination of these so different alphabets creates an opportunity to give texts an unusual yet elegant look. Aquinas is suitable for both running text and headlines and should be used in point sizes of 10 or larger. COLÓN is a Slab Serif type family of three weights with matching italics. The typeface design was influenced by the nostalgia for the aesthetic of a typewriter. Colón extended family consists of two sub-families: Colón Mono with monospaced glyphs sets, and Colón (proportional glyphs sets) which is presented in these specimen pages. Colón is released in OpenType format with extended support for most Latin languages, and includes some opentype features – such as proportional/tabular figures, slashed zero, ligatures, fractions, etc.

Bluenote is a font based on Franklin Gothic condensed. In the 60s and 70s the record label Blue Note published all those classic jazz records of my youth. Someone at their arts department cut letters to ribbons and designed wonderful record covers with those fragmented glyphs. I recently had a look at my music collection and rediscovered these letters.
