Uranus is a futuristic font inspired by space and extraterrestrial civilizations. The proportions of the letters are wide, the elements of the letters have organic curves, reminiscent of the design of streamlined spaceships. What gives the font a special character is the excessive contrast between the upper element and the crossbar in letters such as A, B, E, F, K, P, R. In these letters, there is a barely noticeable intra-letter gap in the form of a line. Due to this contrast and rounded elements in these letters, a negative space of a triangular shape also turned out. Particular attention should be paid to the broad language support for the font. Some time ago, I started to think about the idea of combining my passionate hobby cooking with my profession as a graphic designer. While browsing through cooking books, cooking magazines and graphic publications I noticed that there were no symbols and drawings easily recognizable for interested cooks (hobby or professional). So I decided to create symbols for all the classical cooking paraphernalia still found in grand mother’s kitchen cabinet. This is Tchig Mono, a monospaced type family that doesn't take itself too seriously. Why make a monospaced font? For coding, sure, but display? It’s my humble opinion that it’s the aesthetic choices driven by the constraints of the monospaced environment that makes them attractive. It’s a challenge for the type designer to squash and expand glyphs into a rigid bounding box, and the more unorthodox shapes that spring from this have a feel about them which lends them to postmodernist layouts and hipsterish anti-design. And the payoff for the type designer - no kerning! Yay. So what’s different about Tchig? Like I said before, it doesn't take itself too seriously. Even the name Tchig is just a stupid, fun sound (although it does show off that nice g!). There are a selection of playful alternates that give text a slightly alien feel. Stylistic set 1 chops off ascenders and descenders of lowercase letters, giving it a kind of small caps meets unicase feel (it is also accessible using the small caps feature). The other sets (or stylistic alternates if you don't have access to stylistic sets) make certain letters more twirly, more square, more “experimental”. Automatic fractions use a half-width numerator and denominator so fractions like one half and five eighths have the same width as figures (and every other glyph). There you go then - a monospaced type family not initially intended for use in the usual ways monospaced families are intended to be used. Give it a try. You could even do some coding with it if you like.

Legend of Christmas This is an amazing font family that includes six fonts: serif, serif rough, decor, decor rough, script, script rough style. These fonts are perfectly combined with each other and are suitable for both modern and vintage design. Serf has only capital letters and includes a large selection of alternates, play with them and achieve an amazing design. These letters were developed to decorate the font Bowling and then were also used in the fonts Coffeemug and Teapot. For many years the InsideLetters family had only one family member, InsideLetters. An upgrade in early 2019 added two more family members, InsideLettersHalloween and InsideLettersXmas. The first puts the letters from InsideLetters on pumpkins and the second puts them on Christmas tree ornaments. In 2022 and oblique stye was added to the family. Inside letters is caps-only. It is a casual and playful handwritten sans-serif font.

Aqua Life is a pictogram font from the Monotype Design Studio. It contains 26 vibrantly drawn images of fish and other wildlife you might find at the seashore or in your aquarium. Terrified AOE was inspired by vintage horror movie poster titling from the 1960's. It is a Capitals and smallcaps typeface, that really feels like a mix of three typefaces in one. While the Capitals and Smallcaps typesetting works to the effect of the original inspirations, each case also works well amongst itself independently, and having very different vibes. I've always been a huge fan of horror movies, and some of the lettering from vintage horror movie posters are so cool and alive, I only wish there were more of them recreated as display fonts.

Ossuary is a font in which each letter is formed using a uniquely arranged pile of skulls. The font was originally designed to be caps only, but small caps were added for convenience. There is now a character for each typeable letter of the American English keyboard. The font was inspired by images from the Kostnice ossuary in Sedlec, Kutna Hora near Prague. (Google it.) Whether you are fascinated or repulsed, such images have a mystery about them. They demand your attention. That is the feel this font was intended to capture.

Elida JNL was modeled from an image of some wood type for sale online. Although the type design most likely has its roots in the classic Bodoni, there were a few characters in the original wood type that had a bit of a square or block shape to them. Those characters were modified in order to keep with the overall roundness of the other characters. The name Elida JNL comes from a small town in New Mexico. Available in six styles: Regular, Oblique, Extra Condensed, Extra Condensed Oblique, Ultra Condensed and Mega Condensed.

Based on ten characters found on the cover of a 1960s Blue Note jazz album. The source characters were originally designed for film-based typesetting by Wayne Stettler as part of a single typeface published by Visual Graphics Corporation (VGC) under the name Neil Bold. SL Che is a homage to Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, “El Che”, who lived between 1928 and 1967. El Che turned into an universal icon through a memorable photograph which was reproduced and multiplied to the infinite. It was that way he became a synonymous of resistance, revolution and change for lots of generations. That "Che" comes back today by the hand of the genial Jorge Alderete, who designed heroic, laughing and cool variations of that popular first icon. Created in 2009 by V.H. Fleisher, Monod Brun is a geometric sans-serif typeface. The font has OpenType features that can be accessed in programs like the Adobe Creative Suite. These features include tabular lining figures, titling caps which are heavier & more loosely spaced than the regular caps, alternative punctuation marks, and arbitrary nut fractions (for single digit numerators & denominators). Margon is a serif font family with a temperate design -- small serifs, moderate contrast, tiny roundings on the corners make it calm and serene. The Margon font family consists of 18 members divided into 4 groups of different proportions marked by indexes 360, 380, 400, 430. These values correspond to densities of sets -- 360 is the widest style, 430 is the most narrow one. The peculiarity of Margon family is a rather small difference in proportions of characters between neighbor groups, it’s less than 10%. Such tiny step gives possibility to select the font that gives the best result in combination of capacity and readability. Margon can be used in book, magazine and newspaper design.

Rusticana is a part of the 1990 program Type before Gutenberg, which included the work of twelve contemporary font designers and represented styles from across the ages. Linotype offers a package including all these fonts on its web page, www.fonts.de. Rusticana was designed by Adrian Frutiger and appeared with Linotype in 1993. Its historical roots go back to the Roman Capitalis, the all caps engraved writing of ancient Rome which reached its peak in the first century. From this style evolved other Roman forms, and one, Rustica, proved particularly good for text on bronze, as opposed to in stone. The Rusticana of Frutiger has open, seemingly irregular forms which lend a distinctive rhythm to text.

TG Minagi Sans is a neo-humanist sans serif that takes inspiration from some calligraphy and blackletter letterforms providing sharp details and a little stiffness in some parts of the typeface. By combining these things with the modern form of the sans serif letter, TG Minagi Sans has a forceful and distinct character. Super terrific when used at massive sizes for display purposes and headlines, but reliable enough for small text sizes. Footloose was a work in progress when its original designer, my friend and colleague Bob Alonso, passed away. Back then just 14 lowercase letters were designed so far. Several years have since gone by, but lately I took on the task of developing Bob’s design into a full-fledged font. The distinctive style of his supplied letterforms provided much inspiration. In blocks of short text there is a dynamic that communicates much verve and vigor, owing in part to gracefully curving lines and high contrast of stroke weight. I guess you could say that this project has been a sort of “passing on of the baton”; and I trust that Bob would have been pleased with the outcome.

Answer Songs have been around for [probably] just as long as there have been songs. 1917's "If I Catch the Guy Who Wrote Poor Butterfly" was the answer to the 1916 hit "Poor Butterfly" [by Raymond Hubbell and John Golden], which in turn was inspired by the Puccini opera "Madame Butterfly". "Poor Butterfly" was so popular that this "answer" tune had as part of its lyrics "That melody haunts me in my sleep; it seems to creep." Nonetheless, the sheet music for William Jerome and Arthur Green's comic lament had the title hand lettered with an oval nib lettering pen and is now availably as a digital type face called Dip Pen JNL.

Versteeg was originally designed as a font that would work at a singular pixel level. In the spirit of this reduction, Versteeg was designed with an x-height of 3 units with capitals at 4 units. This extreme simplification is what makes Versteeg unique. After designing the square version of the typeface, creating a series of circular versions was a natural evolution. These versions have a resemblance to braille, but don't actually have a relationship with any braille characters. The width of each face is carefully designed to make sure that the letters will align perfectly in multiple lines. Versteeg is, for the most part, a display typeface, and isn't recommended for large blocks of text.

Brush Up is the cool handpainted typeface you are looking for. Raven hair and ruby lips, it may have been a trick of the light but I'm sure sparks flew from her fingertips. I definitely heard echoed voices in the night, of a restless spirit on an endless flight. If I remember correctly she held me spellbound in the night, with dancing shadows and firelight. Yes, I think I did see a crystal ball on the table, showing the future, the past and I did drink the potion she offered me, when I really should have gotten out of there fast. And that's my story and I'm sticking to it, your honor. It was that girl with the white hair, I'm telling you. She has my wallet too.

The inspiration for this typeface family came from my childhood experiences at West Monkton, amidst an historic part of the South West of England. Studies of the original incised capitals of the Trajan column in Rome were analysed and polished for this modern version. The lower case letterforms and numerals were then created in sympathy, taking their proportions from the incised letters of local gravestones. Its name honours not only the area where the original alphabet was conceived and drawn, but also the people responsible for fostering my initial interest in letters. These stylized incised typefaces give a depth to the letterforms that can be exploited in your typography - evoking the carved monumental inscriptions of the Roman era.
