Digital Sans Now combines and completes the many diverse requests and requirements by users of the past years. By now, 36 versions for over 70 Latin and Cyrillic languages have become available, including Small Caps. Digital Sans Now is also available as a webfont and reflects, with its simplified and geometric construction and its consciously maintained poster-like forms as well as with its ornamental character, the spirit of the decorative serif-less headline typefaces of the 1970s. The basic severity of other grotesque typefaces is here repressed by means of targeted rounds. Exactly these formal breaks allow the impression that it could be used in a variety of visual applications. Short texts, headlines and logos of all descriptions are its domain. It is because of this versatility that the typeface has become a desirable stylistic element, especially in such design provinces as technology, games and sports, and that, for many years now, it appears to be timeless. Kake’s upper case letters are inspired by a hand-painted sign outside a temple in Ubud, Bali. The rest of the font is made to fit the style. The hand-made aesthetic is increased by the implementation of contextual alternates, which automatically swap glyphs to alternate forms to avoid the monotony of repeating letters. The amount of variations for each glyph is dependent on letter frequency in English; there are more a’s and e’s than q’s and j’s. Even with only two variations of some glyphs, the programming makes sure that no two matching glyphs are ever next to eachother, and for the most part they will rarely be even two letters apart. This all makes for type that looks like it isn't type. The glyphs bounce and subtly change weight with willful abandon. Some of the letters on that original sign are somewhat quirky. If you're not a fan you can engage stylistic alternates or stylistic sets to change the C, G, S, Y, c, s and y glyphs to a less idiosyncratic form. These variations still have variations themselves, so with contextual alternates on, they will look as random as all the rest. Case sensitive forms and automatic fractions are included, as are 98 ornaments, ranging from the useful to the (let’s just say) esoteric. These can be accessed from the glyph palette. I know you've probably never realized you need an anchor, a fuel pump, skull and crossbones and chess symbols in the same font before, but that doesn't mean you don't! Kake is full on display typography. It’s legible for small blocks of copy but don't go setting essays in it. Unless you really want to... in which case, go for it.

Vary by Olli Meier is a geometric sans serif typeface inspired by Bulgarian Cyrillic. This handmade looking brush font is inspired by the titles of the 1959 movie, Imitation of Life, by prolific film titles artist, Wayne Fitzgerald. The 'pastiche' of the font's name derives from the 'imitation' of the film's title, and from the imitation of the brush. OpenType enabled software can make Pastiche Brush feel even more handmade. There are alternates for every letter and number, and most punctation marks and symbols. Every letter has at least one alternate glyph, and more commonly used (in English at least) letters have up to three, so when contextual alternates are enabled, the font automatically cycles through glyphs in a pseudo-random manner. This means no double letter combination will ever contain two identical glyphs. Not only this, but it's highly likely the same word will look different elsewhere in the sentence. The contextual alternates feature also takes care of start and end forms of letters, for an even more handmade feel. This is a great font for headlines in fashion glossies, food packaging where an organic look is desirable, posters, perfume bottles, wine bottles... the list goes on. To design Mr Black, we used old ('70-'80) dry transfer lettering sheets that were used by my grandfather who was a military cartographer. We had only two almost used-up sheets. The letters didn't transfer so well but we liked the way they were damaged. All of the characters have a very high resolution so they can be used in a large scale. Mr Black doesn't have lowercases but has up to three alternate uppercase for each letter. Checkout Mr Tiger if your looking for lowercase letters with the same distortion effect. We designed it for our book for children, “Who eats Whom”

Brewmaster was inspired by the Budweiser logo from the late 1800s and its updated revival in 2000, this style of script was very popular in the 1800s and could be found in use on old billeads and letterheads. Although Brewmaster looks accurate in detail to the Budweiser logo, this font has not been approved as official artwork for Budweiser. If you're looking for Budweiser’s official artwork it is recommended that you contact Anheuser Busch, Inc. and ask for their logo and usage guidelines. Companies are always changing their logo designs so it is always best to contact each companies advertising department for official artwork.

This typeface was originally designed in 1930 by W.A. Dwiggins as the cover for the book American Alphabets by Paul Hollister. Only the 26 letters of the alphabet were included on the cover, so the rest of the numbers, punctuation, symbols, and accented characters have been crafted in a matching style. This strongly geometric Art Deco lettering style has been lovingly revived and is now available as an OpenType font. Over 3,300 kerning pairs are included.

FangsALot is a bizarre typeface family that was designed to alternate two character sets. These sets are alternated automatically in applications that support the OpenType feature Contextual Alternatives (calt). The template used to design characters is a distorted triangle that resembles a curved tooth or a fang. This shape can be flipped horizontally, vertically, and both horizontally and vertically to give four orientations. Two of these orientations are used in the regular style and two in what is called the italic style. I thought the fang motif did not come through clearly in the regular and italic styles. Rather the impression they give is more like graffiti lettering. To emphasize the fang motif I added two more members to the family by filling fang outlines with unadorned sans-serif characters. Then to allow more color in lettering, I added two more styles with letters on black. I then had six styles based on triangles skewed left and right. Why not fill the family out with three more styles based on an isosceles triangle? The end result is a family of nine. All members of the family are monospaced and are hard to read. The three graffiti-like styles have some alternative letters that can be accessed with the OpenType feature Stylistic Sets. Also, for each style it is possible to use only one set of characters by adding a space after each letter and then adjusting the character spacing. The graffiti-like styles can be useful in situations where the hard-to-read property is not important but where a menacing and vicious touch is needed, such as topics of sharks, teeth, biting, and vampires.

Fazeta Sans is a perfect companion to serif typeface Fazeta. Two light weights were added, so the complete typeface consist of 14 fonts (7 weights + matching italics). The fine gradation lets you choose perfect weight for any type of project. Every font have 1140 glyphs – just like the serif version and contains the same features, so use and combining of whole typeface is very comfortable. Also fixed kerning allows better comfort for eyes by reading and shortens the length of the text. I tried to preserve sharp and cold impression from serif version, but some straight lines had to be curved due to the natural limitation of sans typefaces (for example the upper arch of “f” is shaped more smooth). However it keeps extremely open form. A little playfulness was left at the end of letters “k, K, and R”, but if you want, this can be eliminated by using a rigorous SS01 feature. Serifs were here transformed into a small yaw from main stroke and so enlive the monotony of sans kind of types. Also slight cutting the top of the letters helping to surprisingly vivid final impression. Fazeta Sans is therefore suitable for wide range of type sizes – from small marginalies to huge poster sizes. To see more please check the PDF specimen.

Cumhuriyet means “the form of government in which the nation holds the sovereignty and uses it through deputies elected for certain periods”. The reason why I gave this name to the font is that 2023 is the centennial anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, which was founded by Atatürk. This typeface, which is sans serif, consists of three families: ▪ Cumhuriyet: Font family with Latin letters ▪ Cumhuriyet Pro: Font family including Latin, Arabic and Hebrew alphabets ▪ Cumhuriyet World: Font family including Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic and Hebrew alphabets Cumhuriyet World is a family of multi-purpose typefaces designed in a geometric style. This font is suitable for use in printed products, media and digital media, as well as in every field that is the subject of writing.

This is definitely a font suitable for kids toys. The letters are legible, and at the same time totally wacky! Kinda like what a kids toy should be! Fidusmager started out as a handdrawn, slightly rugged looking fon. However I ended up manually tracing each letter in order to have those smooth lines. By the way, Fidusmager is danish and actually means someone who’ll trick you - but as a kid I didn’t know that, and found that it most likely was something positive! :)

The free-form, Art Nouveau hand lettering on the cover of the sheet music for 1915's "She Was All That a Pal Ought to Be" inspired Neurotic Roman JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

Scenders was inked first then digitized for the masses to use. Strong ascenders and descenders embellish the font, so the lowercase characters are quite compelling. Scenders is versatile, but it works very well in all caps headlines.

An offering from the 1910 specimen book from Inland Type Foundry, originally called Drew, provided the pattern for this engaging little face. Both versions support the Latin 1252, Central European 1250, Turkish 1254 and Baltic 1257 codepages.

The font, Arnold Boecklin, appeared in 1904 with the font foundry Otto Weisert. Traces of the floral forms of the Jugendstil can still be seen in this typeface. Alphabets of this type were mainly meant for larger point sizes, as on posters. A decorative feel was much more important than legibility, and Arnold Boecklin was of particular importance to the book design of the Jugendstil movement. Today the font is often used to remind people of “the good old days”.

Many of its shares were acquired by D. Stempel in 1927. On the Luc Devroye site this foundry is listed on the Extinct Foundries of the 18th century page. This design is very similar to another Intellecta best seller: Hostetler Fette Ultfraktur Ornamental, both drawn from the classical type specimen book from Hostetler. The ornamental frame that completes the font is a fantastic baroque ornament that I found in another old book, unfortunately lost now. Luc Devroye, whose book is the source for all of my fonts, writes this about Rudolf Hostettler: He was a Swiss type designer, author of “The Printer’s Terms” designed by Jan Tschichold, of "Technical Terms of the Printing Industry" (5th edition was printed in 1995), and of "Type: eine Auswahl guter Drucktypen; 80 Alphabete klassischer und moderner Schriften" (Teufen, Ausser-Rhoden: Niggli, 1958). He also wrote "Type: A Selection of Types" (1949, fgm books, R. Hostettler, E. Kopley, H. Strehler Publ., St. Gallen and London) in which he highlights type made by European houses such as Haas, Enschedé, Deberny and Nebiolo. Jost Hochuli wrote his biography.
