ORIGRAM PRO is the full version of ORIGRAM Free Font, a font with over 100k downloads, and counting! This font was already featured in dozens of websites and Design Blogs. I decided to remake this font, smoothing out a few rough edges - so to speak - and adding value to the end result, with several different interesting tweaks and updates. Inspired in the Origami and Tangram tradition, the basic shape is an octagon. Geometrical and regular, resulting in a neat and captivating display font. Not particularly conceived to be used in common text, this stylized font will add value to any large scale image within the realm of logos & branding, outdoors, packaging, titles, magazines, posters, signs, shirts, scrap-booking... Your imagination is the limit. This display font comes now with Uppercases, updated Lowercases, Numbers, and a slew of new Diacritic Marks and Punctuation Marks. A large number of special characters was included in the package, enriching the font’s versatility and usability.

Inspired in the world of the fast-food, my aim with Burger was to achieve a sexy slab serif font. Since it's not very common to see slabs with swashes I consider this project as an experiment with interesting results. In order to mantain an even weight on the written word, all the glyphs including the swashy ones had to look like compact blocks: This makes the font work much better used with almost no leading, as seen in posters above. Despite the formal look of its genre, this slab serif is also very playful and unique. (Maybe unhealthy food deserves better fonts already, right?) Taste Burger, come on, give it a try! On a more personal note: Why I made this font? Some months ago I started the gym and with it, an strict diet to see some results faster... Maybe my temptation is being, in Lacanian terms, "sublimated" by making delicious and unhealthy fonts.

Even though the name seems not to tell much, Indecise shows a clean and coherent design. The shapes of the characters reference the Latin typefaces that were promoted by great figures like Enric Crous-Vidal and José Mendoza y Almeida in the 50s. Indecise uses the body of incise typefaces and gets rid of the subtle terminals for the strokes. It is a high-contrast sans divided into 5 elegant subfamilies, which use different widths. From the condensed version to the extended one, the family includes 50 fonts counting upright and italic. This collection of widths make for many possible combinations of styles. Indecise is a humanist typeface, it puts geometry apart and embraces the calligraphic gesture. This helps to suggest the movement of the strokes while avoiding to create text with a static appearance. Thin and thick strokes come together and define a smooth rhythm for reading.

This set of typefaces was produced in conjunction with the Guggenheim Museum and the Josef Albers Foundation. Josef Albers was one of the most important artists and educators of the twentieth century. He was a member of the Bauhaus first as a student and then as a teacher from 1920 until its closing in 1933. He then moved to America, where he continued making art and teaching at numerous institutions until his death. Known principally as an abstract painter, he was also an accomplished designer, draftsman, typographer, and photographer. His works explore permutations of form, color, and perception using a restricted visual vocabulary. Created when he was at the Bauhaus, his Kombinationschrift alphabets exemplify the school's ethos. Using 10 basic shapes based on the circle and the rectangle, he created a system of lettering that was meant to be efficient, easy to learn, and inexpensive to produce. The deconstructive image is combined with a legibility structure like the appearance of the Neo-Classical style. Loaded with personality and functionality, Cresta is built to look good while surviving the worst conditions. It is at home on screen and in a magazine. Its six weights are intended to be used everywhere. Unlike most typefaces, Cresta was built without a reference. For this project, everything design choice was based on what worked best for a workhorse sans serif family. Cresta was originally created as the primary typeface for this website. This meant it needed to work in copy, headlines, and navigation across all devices, browsers and operating systems. This meant it needed to be sturdy and have enough character to make it stand out from other UI typefaces. With its large x-height, ample counters, and giant apertures, Cresta is meant for easy utility in rough conditions. Even with all of this, that doesnít mean that its dull; as the weights increase, the style of Cresta becomes more appearant. This style is defined most apparently by the terminals on the lowercase r and the angle of the joins between the curved and straight strokes (such as in the connection on the n).

Protrakt is inspired by city life and sport. It has been designed as a variable font and is best to use as a variable font to get the full enjoyment of using this typeface. However, if you do not have access to variable technology through your software, there are nine widths in the font family so this will give you just as much access to the creativity this font can provide. By using the variable sliders in your design software you have a range of weight and width options. Play around with individual letters to give your type a unique look. Included in this family are alternate characters to add even more styling options. *Unfortunately there is no option to test out the variable capabilities on MyFonts as yet. Please have a look at the poster images to get a great idea of how I have used this font. By using the variable version you only need to install one font file instead of the entire family, this saves space and time to manually select individual styles.

Wood Type Catalogs of the 19th century often offered tools and accessories alongside alphabets of wood type. Probably the most closely related was wood type borders and ornaments. Decorative Borders were often sold by the foot and accompanied by corner pieces that matched the designs. These borders could be assembled in almost any size dimensions as needed. The digital version uses the same principals of modular assembly to create the exact size border that is needed. Along with the borders, included in this font are a selection of "streamers". These banners would have been made to order with the font designs reversed out along a horizontal banner with decorative end caps. The digital version allows for a modular assembly by selecting choice of end caps and then typing the = as many times as needed to achieve the desired length. 10 styles of 9 piece borders can be created in any size variations as well as 8 styles of streamers in any desired length. Some of the designs can be mixed and matched for unusual contemporary design interpretations of these historic styles. It is recommended that the line height (leading) is set to the same size as the point size setting, this will visually lock all elements together.

Mi negra is a funny and hilarious typography designed especially for children, thought and created by Isabel de Gregorio. It could be described as an original combination between a semi-handwright and semi sans-serif font. Thanks to its structure and nice endings "Mi Negra" is recommended for composing short texts (logotypes, packing, posters, etc.). It may similarly be used for illustrations and comics, as well as in printing press works for children from 6 to 13 years old for instance. Mi Negra has been conceived to be a useful support in all kinds of illustrations works (please note that Isabel, the type designer, considers herself primarily an illustrator). The font designer of Mi Negra tells that every time she needed to provide some text data (i.e. in children infographies) and needed to make them more understandable and suitable for children, she used this typography. The former idea was than to create a font who could be a second option to comic sans, but as the project started to reveal its forms, it was clear that it was revealing another connotation and its own character. In this way, Mi Negra went on modifying its forms and the more it developed, the more it was showing its new characteristics and concepts. The family is composed of three weighs: Light, regular and black. It provides also interesting functional ligatures. It also includes a dingbat with nice doggies. It has 434 characters and can work with 208 languages.

1970’s Techno-typography finds its rebirth in Berkmire AOE. From its beefy weight to its narrow and sometimes unusual counter cuts, Berkmire AOE started as a digitization of a film typeface called Belden by LetterGraphics. This bulky techno typeface was taken from its limited character set and fleshed out to include an expanded language glyph set. The Capital letterforms seem to push the edge of readability, while the lowercase falls more in line. I would probably avoid using this as a body text because of the high contrast. I've also been loving combining the regular and italic and mixing up the weights, especially for beautiful logos.

Geogrotesque Sharp is a superfamily of seven widths and 99 styles, that puts together the work of a decade. Some design aspects has been simplified but without losing its soul, we have removed ink traps and rounded corners. This update lead Geogrotesque to another dimension, becoming more usable and less idiosyncratic. A Variable Font version is included with the family, or as a separate style. Despite being more web oriented, this new format has gained popularity in recent years, so we thought it was the right moment to launch a variable Geogrotesque.
