German designer Hans-Jürgen Ellenberger originally developed the concept behind Elementis in 1975. Wanting to create an alternative typewriter script that was more round and natural, Elementis' design was born. True to its typewriter roots, Linotype's Elementis exhibits more character than one expects from that genre. English Engravers Roman is inspired by the beauty and eccentric detailing of British stone carved lettering. After observing many beautiful inscriptions around London and southern England, Robbie Smith decided to create a font family in homage to this rich heritage. Pema – a contemporary Tibetan sans serif encoded in the Unicode standard. This is the first Tibetan typeface influenced by western sans serif fonts. It was designed especially to match multilingual purposes. The rather calligraphic Tibetan scripts did not match with the design aesthetics of western and Indian fonts and so I came up with the idea to design a “modern” Tibetan sans serif. Pema comes in two weights, Regular and Bold, each equipped with almost 1.300 glyphs.

AltraTwo is a complete redraw of a family based on a tracing of a clip art font from an old printed book. The AltraTwo family adds italic, black, and black italic. I liked the gentle calligraphic look. Consider it a sans serif with style. This is a typical NuevoDeco OpenType pro font with caps, lowercase, small caps, lining, oldstyle, and small cap figures, numerators, denominators, fractions, swashes, and so on. There aren't many unusal ligatures for this one, though. It does have the Latin 2 character set or what Adobe calls CE, Central European characters. Altra has been my preferred header face for sevral years. it also works very well for body copy. I usually use it for my contrasting tip and quote paragraphs with Bergsland Pro as my normal body copy.

Carousel is a fat faces display type designed by Gary Gillot in 1966. Fat faces were offshoots of the modern, or Didone, typefaces that were de rigueur during the early 1800s. These fat faces were among the first typefaces to be used solely for advertising purposes. Naturally, they were always used in larger point sizes, in display functions.
