Stencil Package JNL has its design roots in the brand name hand-lettered on the paper sleeves for the short-lived Stencil-It line of lettering guides produced in 1955 as a direct competitor to Stenso Lettering Guides. Formed by Bernie Aronson [a relative of the Libauers who owned the Stenso Lettering Company and who once worked for them] along with a financial partner (noted artist) Sidney Levyne, the company was soon put out of existence by a court action. It re-emerged in 1956 as the E-Z Letter Stencil Company and existed until the 1990s. Stencil Package JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

RyuGothic Family is a humanistic interpretation of the Hangul Gothic style. It delivers messages in a soft, calm tone that does not overpower. This version has been remastered in the latest font developing software and now the new version includes a lot of additional characters that are not available in the original. The original font has been used worldwide, used in Hollywood films and in products in popular clothing lines. The font works well in a variety of themes including tattoo, rebellious, street, western and vintage, to name some. The font was initially designed for use on Baseball jerseys in an effort to developed ways of creating new looks in the field of sports related graphic design.

The seventeenth century Dutch old faces have a distinct character of their own, and were the source for eighteenth century English type designs, such as Caslon. Christoffel van Dijck was one of the great Dutch typefounders, although this face, which bears his name, may not have been cut by him, it is nevertheless representative of the best designs from that period. The Van Dijck italic, for which original punches survive, is almost certainly the work of van Dijck. Drawn at Monotype under the supervision of Jan van Krimpen. The Van Dijck font is a graceful typeface, best used for setting books, quality magazines and articles.

The main inspiration is from Art Nouveau which flourished in Europe at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. This design included furniture (Majorelle, Lalique) and architecture (Victor Horta, Henry Van de Velde, Gaudi, Alfons Mucha). But Hector Guimard remains the favorite for all aspects of its art and, of course, its typefaces used on the Parisian Metropolitan posters. In particular, the various kerning of the various letters he used to make the poster a whole design from singular designs, leading to numerous variations. As a designer, I first worked with the individual glyphs Hector Guimard designed and I discovered that they vary constantly from a poster to another, depending on the overall result he was looking for. Another difficulty in transferring his design to printing is that there was no lower case. I was excited to create the whole font from the original designs of Hector Guimard, incorporating its variations and "crazy kerning". After several attempts, it appeared to be impossible to include all variations and I slightly moved to my own new design as a complete font, upper and lower case, with kerning. I voluntarily limited the ascenders and descenders to the usual typography so that it can be used from 10 / 12 points. This version can be used to edit letters and books in the context of Art, specially Art Nouveau and Art Deco of course, posters of any kind.

The robust and contemporary sans-serif typeface Rethink, comes with strong characteristics. The typeface is made for work in text as well as in display. It features nine weights in two styles, including Small Caps, a set of contemporary OpenType functions, multiple figure sets and a rich language support. Rethinks main characteristics are the non-straight stroke endings and a slope that might come in an unexpected direction. It brings a bit of movement to the baseline and some attraction to the shapes in bigger sizes. These details are designed to ‘disappear’ in smaller sizes and to not disturb a reading process. Rethink was designed with the idea to help spreading bold ideas ond strong opinions, to support the work of activists in contemporary movements, to design statements with impact and meaningfulness.

Irrlicht is based on C. H. Kleukens’ 1923 typeface Judith Type . Whilst Dunkle Irrlicht is a fairly faithful rendition and extension of Kleukens’ typeface, the Licht style was initially added as a stand-alone stencil version; yet, the two styles work perfectly together – for different nuances, for emphasis or simply stacked/layered. Irrlicht is equipped with upper- and lowercase ligatures, contextual and stylistic alternates, fractions, superior and inferior figures, extended language support and a few extra goodies. Additional information – How Irrlicht came to life Christian Heinrich Kleukens cut his Judith Type in 1923, at the peak of German expressionism, exclusively for publications with the Ernst-Ludwig-Press, such as a limited series of biblical prints – the first being the Book of Judith , hence the original’s name. I stumbled upon this typeface a couple of years ago in a nice little 1930 booklet of the Gutenberg-Gesellschaft and was struck by its forceful darkness on paper and its seemingly simple, crude letterforms. The lack of a long-ſ in the final version of Judith Type – quite unusual for a German typeface of that time – adds to this feel of crudeness and spontaneity*. Judith Type seemed to me like a semi-blackletter cousin of Rudolf Koch’s typeface Neuland (cast in the same year). Besides its apparent affinity with expressionism, it reflects a lot of that deeply spiritual craftsmanship of the era – much like Neuland. A few months later, when I was working on a stencil project and looking for a typeface that could be cut into thin wooden plates easily, I remembered those dark, sharp letters that seemed to be lacking any curves at all. After enlarging a few letters and tracing them by hand, the whole set was redrawn digitally, using only straight lines. As for spacing, the goal was to keep the letters tight but to avoid touching characters – without ironing out all the original’s tension and rhythm. Deliberate kerning, subtle contextual alternates and ligatures help to deal with critical glyph combinations. Two additional versions were developed: a stencil version with open counters and, in reference to a popular style of the 1920s and inspired by dry, cracked wood, an inline version. These two additional styles were later merged into one font – Lichte** Irrlicht was born. — AARHAUS * Consequently, the original typeface’s German eszett is simply a ligature of the “round s” and standard z . In some of his publications, Kleukens dispenses with using eszett altogether and sets double s instead. Irrlicht , however, does feature a more common eszett (ß); the original, among other more faithful letter forms, can be accessed via the stylistic sets feature ** licht – literally bright – being the German term for inline typefaces – not to be confused with leicht ( light )

It's the Summer of Love all over again with this groovy psychedelic font. Designed in 2019, this typeface harks back to the carefree days of the late 1960s. Whimsical and offbeat with its swaying verticals, it nonetheless remains one of the more legible reimaginings of the genre, sporting all of the handlettered vibe of posters and album covers from the original hippie era, but with polished color and weight that evens out the legibility even at relatively small point sizes. Predominantly a unicase font, with a couple of alternate glyphs from upper to lowercase, Summer of Love works best as a large headline face, and benefits greatly from twisting and morphing the type blocks as was common during the original psych era. It's a real groove machine, baby.

The inspiration source for MFC Enschede Borders is a collection of floral border treatments from the 1904 “Ornamenten Hoofdlijsten en Sluitstukken” by Joh. Enschedé & Zonen, Haarlem. For the first time, this decorative border collection is available digitally. You can start with a new document or work on a new layer within an existing document. Select MFC Enschede Borders from the font menu. (Some users may have font previewing enabled in the font menu which will cause the font name to appear as border elements, disable this option in order to choose the name) Make certain that the point size of the font is the same as the leading being applied to the font so the borders will meet up properly. While we’ve adjusted this within the font, your program may override these settings. For instance a 12 point font should have 12 points of leading. The original sketch of Joker was drawn by Viktor Kharyk in 1978 as experiment on creation type by a method of subtraction. In 2000 the font was digitized, modified and Hebrew, Greek, Georgian, Armenian and Arabi? alphabets and outline style were added. As a display face, Joker allows the creation of decorative compositions, easily combining a vertical and horizontal arrangement of words. Its characters are easy for filling with images. In line the face creates ornamental effect very appropriate for logotype design. The font is good to set small expressive advertising texts also. Joker type family received the third prize at TypeArt 2001 Cyrillic type design competition in Moscow.

Delikaat is made up of thin & thick strokes - a version of Cubo Font's former Delicate. Most cursive fonts intend to create the look and feel of real handwriting: many letters have a specific drawing, following other letters that come before and after, or its position at the beginning or at the end of the word. “Delicate” resolved that problem thanks to the OpenType technology, and offers many discretionary ligatures (group of pre-drawn letters), adapted to numerous combinations.
