Cooper Black's second coming to American design in the mid-sixties, after almost four decades of slumber, can arguably be credited with (or, depending on design ideology, blamed for) the domino effect that triggered the whole art nouveau pop poster jam of the 1960s and 1970s. By the early 1970s, though Cooper Black still held its popular status (and, for better or for worse, still does), countless so-called hippie and funk faces were competing for packaging and paper space. The American evolution of the genre would trip deeper into psychedelia, drawing on a rich history of flared, flourished and rounded design until it all dwindled and came to a halt a few years into the 1980s. But the European (particularly German) response to that whole display type trend remained for the most part cool and reserved, drawing more on traditional art nouveau and art deco sources rather than the bottomless jug of new ideas being poured on the other side of the pond. One of the humorous responses to the "hamburgering" of typography was Friedrich Poppl's Poppl Heavy, done in 1972, when Cooper Black was celebrating its 50th anniversary. It is presented here in a fresh digitization under the name Gator (a tongue-in-cheek reference to Ray Kroc, the father of the fast food chain). To borrow the title of a classic rock album, Gator is meaty, beaty, big and bouncy. It is one of the finest examples of how expressively animated a thick brush can be, and one of the better substitutes to the much overused Cooper Black. «Abelina» is a typeface that can be used in display sizes for titles where part of the central premise is to emulate certain features of gestural handwriting.  Concepts like spontaneity, speed and fluidity, associated with the use of certain calligraphic tools – in this case the pointed brush – led to a typographic result based on the pattern-like structure coming from the chancery and italic calligraphic models. «Abelina» - initially designed by Yanina Arabena (Calligrapher, Graphic Designer and Typographer) - is reborn to make way for “Abelina Pro” through the solid work of Guillermo Vizzari working together with Ale Paul from Sudtipos. Throughout its use, “Abelina Pro” maintains the structure of a firm style, integrating a dynamic rhythm in the composition of short texts and offering personality to each of the words it builds. It has over a thousand glyphs, including several alternates, ligatures combination, initials and miscellaneous to reinforce the idea of the author of merging a calligraphic project in the typographic world; allowing new ways to capture this great universe of italic faces. «Abelina» project was initially born as a typographic project developed by Yanina Arabena – tutored by Ale Paul and Ana Sanfelippo – under completion of the Specialization in Typography Design at University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the years 2011 and 2012.

Bandung is home to numerous examples of Dutch colonial architecture, most notably the tropical Art Deco architectural style. This typeface was adapted from the finest Art Deco landmarks and signage in Bandung, Indonesia and strongly added native elements of traditional Art Deco typefaces style. The main character is an example of a harmonious mixture between West and East architectural styles, repackaged into the Art Deco type design. With two different styles, it comes as regular and Deco styles, the regular style is constructed with all caps setting, with some different characters between uppercase and lowercase. The Deco style uses more stripes in the right shapes, it was naturally inspired with the most common art deco typefaces. The additional Opentype Features loaded in this typeface; some stylistic alternates, accessible catchwords in the discretionary ligatures, and the art deco ornaments, This typeface is highly usable with large scaling size and will fit with posters, movie titles, and signage designs.

Amanet is original old fashion typeface that comes as Regular weight followed with stylistic compatibile Borders. It's pretty readable in small sizes which recommends it for use on packages, labels or specific corporate identities. "Amanet" is an archaic Serbian word for English word "legacy".

A handwritten ”font for technicians“ from ca. 1900. Very geometrical, rigid forms borrowed from the typical characteristics of Jugendstil / Art Nouveau. This script is found in an old magazine which was issued sometime in the years shortly before WWI. The original copy, produced by means of a galvanized plate, is just 7 centimeters wide. It served as the model for technical professions in which, at that time, the captions of drawings were still done by hand. ingoFonts has not only digitized this beautiful typeface, we have also extended it to a whole family. In »Maier’s Alte Nr. 8« special attention was given to ensure the ”uneven“ edges, typical of handwritten script, remained effectively noticeable even in the digitized form. As a result, this ”technical“ font retains a handmade touch, while »Maier’s Neue Nr. 8« is the clean version with exact contours. The Art Nouveau forms, which are characteristic for the period of origin around the turn of the century around 1900, look especially pretty. The high degree of abstraction also seems strange in Maier's No. 8, especially when the age of the original is known. It is generally assumed that it was not until the Bauhaus in the late 1920s that such "modern" typefaces were created. Maier's No. 8 is a generation older! So many of today's supposedly "ultramodern" typefaces look quite old in comparison. In addition to the original two weights, Light and Bold, the Maiers Neue Nr. 8 got a regular and a extra-bold weight. Furthermore, the Neue is also available in italics. Although this is only a slanted version, unlike common practice, it is inclined to the left. Maier’s Nr. 8 Pro is suitable for all European languages. It includes ”Latin Extended-A,“ for Central and Eastern Europe incl. Turkish, and even Cyrillic and Greek, too. The font includes several stylistic alternates as well as a number of ligatures.

Caflisch Script was designed by Robert Slimbach in 1993. The design is based on the handwriting of Max Caflisch, one of the foremost graphic designers of this century. Caflisch, a teacher of graphic arts for over three decades in Zurich, is author of several books on typography and designer of the 1952 Columna typeface. Grace was designed by Elisabeth Megnet and appeared with Linotype in 1992. The font is a part of the package Calligraphy for Print, which also contains Ruling Script and Wiesbaden Swing. The basic style of Grace is based on the Gothic miniscule of the 13th century. It represents a modern philosophy held by Andre Guertler, Professor of Typography in Basel with whom Megnet once studied. While designing a logotype for a client, she described herself as "loud and colorful." Thinking about some eras in typefaces that portrayed this idea, I instantly thought of the "Roaring 20s" and the Prohibition era where the cinema is starting to take off and the Italian mafia are running the bars. (Which is coincidental because my client has family connections to Al Capone.) One of the most iconic typefaces designed for these times was Broadway by Morris Fuller Benton in 1925. This typeface was the zeitgeist of Broadway, the big city, theater, and cinema, which can now be seen in use almost everywhere an old family run cinema is located. Using the heavy influences of the thick and thin contrast of this typeface, Maritote brings the charm of Broadway into the 21st century.

Sabana is my first step in font design. A font that is born from the organic, from a creative process that starts from improvisation as a result of my training as an artist. To design Sabana I asked myself the question, why not make a font that emulates my own writing? as I found it fun to see my handwriting on a computer. This font can be used in a wide range of projects such as editorial design, motion graphics, web, advertising and branding where emulating handwriting is a necessity. The font has coverage for more than 200 languages ??derived of the latin alphabet in addition to Cyrillic. Sabana is where I come from, where I am from, a constant on the horizon that is occasionally interrupted by vertical lines and that together make a perfect visual symphony.

Introducing Goga, a versatile sans serif family available in 10 weights from hairline to black. It is a typeface that combines the best of geometric sans serifs and neo-grotesques. It draws inspiration from typefaces like Avenir on the one hand and Helvetica on the other. Although Goga is a universal and neutral typeface, it is rather warmer and friendly in nature. If you want to add more juice to your project, you can do so by using unusual stylistic alternates of the lowercase g (hence the name Goga). Goga is a typeface suitable for both large sizes and smaller text, thanks to its large x-height. It contains Latin-extended character set, and thus supports most Latin languages. Sonopa is a classically unclassifiable face, with an array of standard and extended ligatures and alternates, tabular and lining oldstyle figures. In essence, it is a playful, hand-penned script, with elements of rigidity taken from more structured styles. Sonopa contains enough detail to fare well at poster sizes, with an evenness of color that is also suitable for text runs.
