Qualion Text™ is a modern geometric sans serif typeface with humanist and calligraphic inspirations. It is a text family designed for excellent legibility. Back in the nineties I had a deck of Tarot cards. It was part interest and part curiosity, but I also liked the look of them. My readings were just for fun; I thought it was all a joke, but when people started to return for more readings (because what I had predicted actually happened), I quit. That was way out of my comfort zone! Fortune Teller is a nice brush font. I made it with one of my late father in law’s Chinese brushes and ink. The famous lettering “Capital Trajana” (inscription at the bottom of the column that bears its name erected in the year114 A.D.) is usually identified as the classic example that defines Imperial Capital forms. However, much earlier, there were already countless examples of Greco-Roman epigraphy of excellent execution, as evidenced by the monumental inscriptions from year 2 b.C. sculpted in the Portico di Gaio e Lucio Cesari in front of the facade of the Basilica Emilia, in the Roman Forum, erected by Augustus, dedicated to his two grandchildren for propaganda and dynastic needs. It has been more than two thousand years and the forms of these letters are still part of our daily life, product of their qualities of readability and beauty. It is probably the added semantic value that have made them an icon full of symbolism that expresses majesty, monumentality, order and universal power. Numerous authors, calligraphers and designers have studied this legacy such as Giovanni Francesco Cresci, Edward Catich, L.C. Evetts, Armando Petrucci, Carol Twombly, John Stevens, Claude Mediavilla, just to name a few. Marcus Traianus font is a fitted version of the two models mentioned, which is accompanied by Small Caps, lowercase (carolingas) and a set of numbers (Indo-Arabics) in addition to the Romans figures and diacritics for Central European languages Marcus Traianus is presented in two weight: Regular, Italic, Bold and ExtraBold.

A set of slab serif framed capitals is displayed in the 1906 edition of the Keystone Type Foundry specimen book as “John Alden Initials”. Digitally redrawn as Keyden Drop Caps JNL, regular and reverse versions are available in one font file. Upper case keys contain the regular version, lower case keys have the reverse version. Blanks frames for each are on the parenthesis keys. The font’s name is a hybrid of both ‘Keystone’ and ‘Alden’. Teaspoon was originally designed by Haley Fiege as a project-specific font in 2007, then completed and produced by Canada Type for commercial viability in 2008. Morning News is the sister font of Evening News which I designed some years ago for use with my local newspaper Abendzeitung. Morning News is an adaption, a little bit rounder, which gives the font a much softer touch. The general design dates back to the pre-Hitler era, the time when Germany had already lost the first World War and was taking a short deadly breath to start the second big war. Titul is a display typeface with strong historical connotations. It is based on a series of stylish lettering for book covers, designed by Russian graphic artist Alexander Leo in the 1920s. The historical reference for him was book design of the 1st half of the 19th century. Type family consists of four ornamented and three basic styles: one solid, one inline and one striped. All seven faces have corresponding oblique styles. Also, there is a beautiful vignette font and a style for constructing ornamental borders. Titul suits best for vintage spirited typography, from the 19th to early 20th century. It is perfect for book covers, theater posters, packaging and greeting cards. Typeface was created by Isabella Chaeva and released by Paratype in 2020.

Metaverse Display Font Family The basic skeleton structure of this font family is based on block-shaped rectangles and arcs. Therefore, it contains the possibility of being simple, but free of transformation. Alternates are designed to give individual glyphs a special transforming effect, and can be used as a means to emphasize contextual characteristics. 94 Alternates are included, and it is designed to maximize the characteristics of glyphs through defiant and irregular free deformation, not just width deformation. Büro Destruct’s «BDR mono» typeface has a long tradition in the font library of typedifferent. Initially designed by Lopetz as a single weight, monospaced Mac PostScript Type 1 font way back in 1999, it got a first update as a little family with light, regular and bold weights, plus an extended glyphs set in Opentype format during 2006. With this 2021 update the typeface received a second rounded family and a complete glyphs set with all needed characters used in the north, east, south and west of Europe. Synthica is the advanced version of a geometrically constructed typeface – designed for a thesis project in summer 2010 in Pforzheim. In the context of electronic music and the profound analysis of its parameters, this typeface is primarly based on a strict modular grid. Additionally, the ascender, descender and the x height had slightly been increased in order to even out a visual difference in size between the glyphs. The name „Synthica“ dervives from a basic principle in electronic sound synthesis. Sinus, triangle and square are some of the basic waveforms in the synthesizers’ oscillator section and were thus used as geometric modules for the grid. The modularity and geometry also derive from different structures of electronic music. The strong emphasis on diagonal lines creates a rhythmic typeface that connotates electronic music patterns with highly recognisable glyphs. The contrast between digital and analog is another basic idea of this typeface: while Synthica Outline has a more synthetic and fragile character, the filled version Synthica Black serves as the analog counterpart.

A FEW THOUGHTS Indie is a trendy script, result of the wide range of possibilities that can be achieved using a pointed brush. (1) “You Only Live Once” say The Strokes, (to me, symbols of indie music) so, what would represent that sensation of volatility better than a brush? As you may already know, this time inspiration came from hipsters and indies around us: We may sometimes criticise them, we may sometimes want to be like them, but the truth is that the universo gráfico they generated these past years is gigantic, full of colour and variations. (2) Brush lettering and Sign painting are fields I've been fond of since I started as a designer. Nowadays, these styles are getting a lot of attention and maybe it’s due to the undeniable mark of life that is materialised when using a brush. This tool is so expressive that shows the passions and fears of the artist, and materialises that idea of “living the present”, so popular in this era. When you see Indie, you think of skaters, rollers, surfers, hiphop dancers, street artists, summer, and why not? California beaches. So if you feel life is only one, it’s high time you got Indie into your fonts' collection! STYLES Indie comes in 4 styles plus another one which consists only in capitals. Indie; Indie Shade; Indie Shade Solo; Indie Inline are all open-type programmed and have exactly the same glyphs and metrics, so you can combine them without probem. (I.E. Morris a hundred years ago, handcrafts are being revalued/reborn, and some of this may be happening thanks to these indie designers that, trying to be unique, gave new/fresh air to different areas of graphic design.

A disc jockey-only promotional sleeve for a 1964 [45 rpm] release of “Close to Me” and “Let Them Talk” by Dan Penn featured the song titles printed in a stencil typeface on the record sleeve. Closely resembling a stencil version of Franklin Gothic but with its own unique characteristics, this design has been reinterpreted as Turntable Stencil JNL and is available in both regular and oblique versions. For trivia buffs, Dan Penn is a singer-songwriter-record producer, often collaborating with Dewey Lindon “Spooner” Oldham; both closely associated with the late Rick Hall’s Fame recording studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. In 1964, Hall started the Fame record label, and for a time it was distributed by Vee-Jay Records of Chicago, the first major Black-owned record label in the United States. Penn’s release was only the second for the new label; Fame 6402.

Neufile Grotesk has its roots in some of the earliest commercially available sans-serif typefaces. This highly legible sans-serif design is well-suited for many display and text-based typographic uses. Users can apply the fonts effortlessly to a large number of messages and media, from advertising to book design. The typeface family ships in two different formats. Depending on your preference, you can install the typeface as a single Variable Font or use the family’s eight static OpenType font files instead. Those weights run from Extralight through Black. In 1972, VGC released two typefaces by designer friends Dick Jensen and Harry Villhardt. Jensen’s was called Serpentine, and Villhardt’s was called Venture. Even though both faces had the same elements and a somewhat similar construct, one of them became very popular and chased the other away from the spotlight. Serpentine went on to become the James Bond font, the Pepsi and every other soda pop font, the everything font, all the way through the glories of digital lala-land where it was hacked, imitated and overused by hundreds of designers. But the only advantage it really had over Venture was being a 4-style family, including the bold italic that made it all the rage, as opposed to Venture’s lone upright style. One must wonder how differently things would have played if a Venture Italic was around back then. Chopper is Canada Type’s revival of Venture, that underdog of 1972. This time around it comes with a roman, an italic, and corresponding biform styles to make it a much more attractive and refreshing alternative to Serpentine. Chopper comes in all popular formats, boasts extended language support, and contains a ton of alternate characters sprinkled throughout the character map.

The very appropriate caption is a text in handwriting. This is what inspired us to create attractive handwriting for social media and networking. We started to do a little research to see the trends of this type of font. Here are some of our notes; 1. Texts are usually in the form of relaxed, non-connected handwriting. 2. There are several connected glyphs, usually by the letters 'o', 'i' and 'y'. And double letters like ‘ll’ and ‘tt’. We anticipate this by making ligature for common texts written concatenated. 3. Hello! Inspiration for this beautiful script font I found in “A Source of Solace in Illness” (Trost Bronn der Kranchhen) book, published in the middle of 17th century. There was an entire on the back of the top cover: Joannes Auanger Parochus Sinchingae 1808”. That's why I named my font family Parochus. In the Catholic Church, a parish is a community of the faithful within a particular church, whose pastoral care has been entrusted to a parish priest (Latin: parochus). There are original and regular style fonts. Also, I’ve added some modern symbols. With this set, you can precisely imitate medieval style text. It was the idea of the fusion of these two design concepts that inspired Kobayashi to draw Akko. „My initial idea was to create a sanserif type with a ‚soft-focus‘ effect,“ says Kobayashi. „From here, the design evolved into two families, the robust and structured sanserif Akko and soft and friendly Akko Rounded.“ Akko has a wide range of weights, with options including complementary italics and a new Condensed range. The Akko typeface family is available as a suite of OpenType™ Pro fonts, allowing for the automatic insertion of small caps, ligatures and alternate characters. Pro fonts also offer an extended character set supporting most Central European and many Eastern European languages. And new Paneuropean versions introduce support for Cyrillic and Greek.

German type designer Alex Rütten created this serif and slab FontFont in 2010. Fantini is the revival and elaborate update of a typeface called Fantan, made in-house and released in 1970 by a minor Chicago film type supplier called Custom Headings International. In the most excellent tradition of seriously-planned American film faces back then, CHI released a full complement of swashes and alternates to the curly art nouveau letters. Fantan didn't fare much among the type scene's big players back then, but it did spread like electricity among the smaller ones, the mom-and-pop type shops. But by the late 1980s, when film type was giving up the ghost, most smaller players in the industry were gone, in some cases along with little original libraries that existed nowhere else and became instant rarities on their way to be forgotten and almost impossible to resurrect for future technologies. Fantini is the fun and curly art nouveau font bridging the softness and psychedelia of the 1960s with the flirtatious flare of the 1970s like no other face does. Elements of psychedelia and funk flare out and intermix crazily to create cool, swirly letters packed with a lot of joy and energy. This is the kind of American art nouveau font that made its comeback in the late 20th century and is now a standard visual in the branding drive of almost every consumer product, from coffee labels to book and music covers to your favorite sugar or thirst-crunching fix. It took me 12 years to bring this extensive font family to completion. A lot has been changed, transformed, peeled and developed in all those years. For many of my projects I used it as my quarry and so it might have become something like a synthesis of all my imaginations and experiences. To me »Schnebel Sans« represents the optimal design of a contemporary grotesque that perfectly unites dynamics with statics. For copy text the typefaces are very legible, neutrally and remain in the background, but despite this generate the necessary tension when set as headlines. »Schnebel Sans« is available in 48 different styles.
