Quirky and irregular FS Split is no ordinary typeface. Its irregular proportions make it unique, with round letters appearing wide, and straight letters narrow. Other quirks include its eclectic crossbars – the uppercase ‘A’ has an unusually low bar, while the bar on ‘G’ is particularly long. The uppercase has many interesting features in fact, including large counters, closed terminals on certain letters like ‘J’, and a cap-height that lines up with ascenders. I had a chat recently with a customer who is a big fan of lettering from the psychedelic poster era. The discussion got me thinking about poster lettering we hadn't yet made into fonts, and a particular sample from a Jimi Hendrix poster I had played around with but never finished making into a font. So I went back to the drawing board and the result is the new Hendrix font. Unlike many of our other Psychedelic fonts which are stripped down to their basic character forms, this font includes the outlines characteristic of a lot of poster lettering from that period. It also includes variant versions of a number of the characters

Adamant Sans on Behance. Adamant Sans: Specimen Manual PDF. Adamant Sans is a contemporary and very functional typeface. Alta California became designer steve mehallo's "vector-based artist's response" to the early Apple Macintosh bitmapped font San Francisco. Alta California was developed using "sampled" wood type and letters from numerous historical sources. The name comes from the Alta California newspaper, the first daily published in California, one of a dubious Barbary Coast nature, a sheet that shaped the bias of San Franciscans and attracted its own grade of reporters, including a printing specialist who went under the nom de plume Mark Twain. Alta California's edges were meticulously redrafted by hand, with letterpress-inspired fallout and 19th century pointing hands. The final collection of rough hewn letters jump, dive, fall, zag and zig. Alta California looks great on greeting cards, food packaging, as retail signage for boutiques, vintage stores or at D.I.Y. sales, on band posters or club cards, in and around historical quarters, or for use on any ransom note that needs to evoke a wild west look and feel.

Another very squarish and futuristic font from Brian Kent. This time I've kept the very thin style of the diacritics, but I have redesigned the A and H (and a couple of other letters and glyphs ;) - mostly to give them a little more "meat". The Charta family of fonts draws its inspiration from the letter styles used in early manuscripts and printed books. Charta is also remarkably versatile: it’s equally at home in a traditional or modern context and can be used for a wide range of applications from an automobile badge to a newspaper masthead and from a fashion label to a candy bar wrapper.

Edison, is it Victorian or is it Art Nouveau? While this typeface may be found in Petzendorfer’s Treasury of Art Nouveau Alphabets, I believe the decorative spirals are more Victorian than “New Art.” To me, they looked tacked on, rather than organic -- with the industrial mechanics of a coiled spring, rather than the tendrils of a growing plant as the philosophical wellspring. Originally released by ATF in 1894 as Houghton, this typeface was re-released shortly thereafter by Bauer and Berthold in Germany as EDISON. Please do not make the mistake of thinking the font we offer here is no better than freeware fonts in cheap rip-off collections. This font has a set 218 characters and represents many hours manipulating the bezier curves to produce acceptable results. The 2nd installment of the Enchanted Land family takes us on another medieval adventure, opting to completely rebuild instead of refining the legacy script. More emphasis was put into the undulating nature of the Uppercase characters and how they keep your eyes flowing. For this reason, straight lines and right angles are rarely used in favor of flamboyant terminals and wispy swashes. Lowercase characters, by contrast, adhere to a consistent model defined by its straightened edges and sharp corners. This script flirts with several old world styles but seeks only to borrow elements rather than completely emulate them. German Blackletter, Old English, Uncial, Victorian, it’s in there! The Mramor family first appeared in the Stormtype catalogue in 1994. The first sketch arose in 1988 through the narrowing of Roman capitals. It has uniform width proportions and, above all, original lower-case letters, unprecedented with Roman Capitals. The text designs are discontinued since they were replaced by the related Amor Serif family (along with its -sans version). Now, Mramor has “only” 10 designs that each include true small caps, Cyrillics and a rich variety of figures, ligatures and alternates. Mramor excels in corporate identity or bottle-label design, also whenever there is a need for a “classic” looking face.

I had journeyed to Egypt to study the mating habits of homosexual hippos. I had no idea it was the journey that would teach me the true nature of love.

The chapbook Pen & Brush Lettering and Practical Alphabets, published by Blandford Press, Ltd., London, in 1929 averred that these letterforms suggested a lightface version of Neuland. And so they do, with the added bonus that this typeface, unlike its inspiration, includes lowercase characters.

This sticky blackletter font owes its street credibility to the texture of torn adhesive tape. Designed to support rehabilitation of the historically tainted Fraktur, its pragmatically shaped majuscules guarantee legibility to a 21st-century readership. They even forgive all-caps usage - a thing you better not try with most blackletter types around. It contains a range of diacritics and ligatures, as well as open type features that substitute alternate glyphs for often repeating characters. Madrigalle was seven months in the making and may be described as a contemporary copperplate. When designers look for a font that is both elaborate and strong, they generally have to go back to styles of a previous period, possibly produced recently but not contemporary in their look and feel. In Madrigalle, I believe that I've produced a font that is contemporary but has the boldness and delicacy that mark the fonts of previous generations. I feel that most fonts that derive their style from the complexity of their characters place too much emphasis on upper case characters, and that lower case characters are very conservatively treated. I have tried, with Madrigalle, to redress this imbalance and to introduce informality and vigor to the genre. Madrigalle comes in three options: Two simpler options, Madrigalle Nocturne - slightly less elaborate, and Madrigalle Minuet - slightly more elaborate. Each of these options may be easily used in packages that don't support the Character Map OpenType feature. The Professional Option, Madrigalle Expert, combines all the features of Nocturne and Minuet and has a large number of additional opentype character alternatives. It takes full advantage of Opentype features to provide the designer with a wide range of options, enabling him to give an individual stamp to his work. I recommend that packages such as InDesign and Illustrator, which support Character maps, be used with Madrigalle Expert in order to make full use of this font’s OpenType features. (Just select GLYPHS from the TYPE palette, and set your creativity free!) All Madrigalle styles contain the accented characters used in the major European languages. Punkaholic started out as a loopy, all caps display font with a semi condensed feel. Before completion some of the letters such as A and W were given a more traditional look and were penciled in for alternates. In the end, however, they were added as uppercase characters instead. For this reason most words in lowercase vary in appearance from their uppercase counterparts. This dichotomy between straight lined capitals and rounded ones makes for some interesting contrasts. Big, thick and chunky, Bastinado is imposing, but the bat-like, scalloped edges give it a sinister presence. Bastinado is an ancient Asian method of torture in which the bottoms of the victim's feet are beaten until he can no longer walk. This font looks like it wants to catch other fonts in a dark alley.

Applbitz is a set of three pixel style fonts which include a matching set of food related pix fonts. The regular style is a text font, which is optimal at 14 points when used in flash. Applbitz Pix Base and Pix Top are corresponding food related glyphs, with the top providing a bit of detail. These "friendly" pix characters can also be used in flash using some TLC (and snap to pixel grid). They are fun to add your own color combinations, and are great for a variety of food icons. According to the dictionary, the way a letter is formed or shaped within a writing system is an allograph... and Allograph JNL from Jeff Levine takes on unusual shapes. Using characters from Jeff's Printing Set JNL font, they were printed out white-on-black, and the paper was torn into abstract pieces and then scanned in order to create this edgy looking font.

The inspiration source for Monarchy Initials is the 1934 Book of American Types by American Type Founders. In that specimen book, they had created a sophisticated two color initial design they called "Stationers Initials" which was only available in metal type at 24, 36, and 48 points. The hand lettered opening titles from the 1944 Laurel and Hardy comedy “The Big Noise” served as the inspiration for Movie Screen JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

HS Alhandasi is an Arabic display typeface. It is useful for book titles and graphic projects where a contemporary, streamlined look is desired. The font is based on the simple lines of modern and simplified Kufi calligraphy, that support Arabic, Persian and Urdu. This font was created in the beginning as regular weight in 2007 for use in technical and engineering company. The company tends to follow the geometrical shape with equal dimensions in both vertical and horizontal storks. There is also a tendency to make all characters to be similar to oval shape with the impression that they are all geometrical and clear. I followed that with two other weights in 2011, thin and bold.

Cat Fight is small decorative font family containing two "weights". They are not weights in actual meaning, as they differ by style but to secure safe OTF usage in all OS, they are named as Regular and Bold.
