Broadgauge Ornate originated from MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan in 1869 and was only available as an all caps font with numbers. Today this old beautiful wood type rises again from the archives complete with original numbers and an all new lowercase. An all caps Greek character set has also been added plus accented characters for western, central and Eastern European countries. Included in each font file are two sets of left and right pointing hands located on the Less Than and Greater Than keys and also on the Bracket keys. Because this font works well with a Las Vegas theme I've decided to make the pointing hands gambling related with one set of hands rolling dice and the other holding cards. The condensed versions were created because in today's computer graphics applications people stretch and condense fonts to fit their project but don't notice the change in vertical stroke widths or line thickness. After compressing the letter shapes of each Broadgauge Ornate condensed font the vertical lines were corrected making sure they were the proper width or thickness. The results are balanced condensed versions that weren't simply compressed with out consideration for their appearance.

Night Train is a new font built from the ground up; while Night Train may resemble an old classic wood type there are a few lines that make this font a little more modern setting it apart from other wood type revivals. Quiroga Serif began in 2007 with the name Quadratta Serif. This typography was designed for continuous text, legible at medium and small sizes, with great saving of space, optimized for 6, 8, 10 and 12 points. The morphology is a mix between tradition and innovation; it has a vertical axis, thick serifs, tall x-height, light modulation and a lot of internal space between letters: key to improve legibility at small sizes. Formally, my idea was to make a serif type that had a unique color, this is visible due to the light modulation. This is also complemented with the incorporation of not common, alternative signs. Some parts of the letters that are usually curb or diagonal where made horizontal (for example: a, q, p, etc.), this makes the eye of each character to be wide and unique. The serifs (wedge type) suffered diverse variations during the process. At the begining they where thicker and ended vertically, but this caused a great deal of printing errors. And so we decided to modify them by giving them an angle to avoid visible errors in medium and small sizes. The ch, and ll ligatures where rescued because they are a part of our current spanish alphabet. The historic ligatures and stylistic alternates give different options to users who want different alternatives within a text. The accentuation signs were composed in a middle line above all signs to avoid visual shock. We also gave plenty of importance to small caps numbers, mathematical signs and currency signs so that the could interact well.

Axial Cut is a sans serif typeface (Latin Extended-A), a contemporary and rounded evolution of geometric fonts for screen, but this time the letters are built on an axial axis that results in trapezoidal counter-shapes, joints with reduced antlers and rounded corners that correct optical effects in small sizes to make the typography more legible, and at the same time, in large sizes it shows its original shapes. Throughout the Middle Ages both uncials and square capitals were used, often together, for headings and initial characters. By their nature the Roman capitals are the voice of Caesar and hold the place of authority, while the uncials speak for the Church in a balanced relationship. In ancient times church and state were not as separate as they are now, and the alphabets were not as different as typographic tradition has made them. In this calligraphic rendering it is clear that they are of the same substance and can be written in the same style, conveying even to the modern eye the eternal and classical quality of epic and scripture. Barnhart Bros. and Spindler called this Faust Text when they introduced it in 1898. A quarter of a century later, they brought back a number of obsolete faces and renamed them. This one became Missal Text in their 1923 catalog.

The name "Smart Casual" says it all. This is the font to use when you want to create that smart impression without being too formal. It is based on the font "Black Tie" but it is less formal than "Black Tie". It conveys an impression of relaxed elegance without being either sloppy or too intimate. Smart Casual is ideal for invitations to stylish but relaxed events, for advertisements that are intended to create that special ambience, for posters and for announcements. Smart Casual has a full character set and has been carefully letter-spaced and kerned. It comes in two styles: Baseline and Staggered. In "Baseline" all characters refer to the same baseline (the lower part of the characters are in line), while in "Staggered" the capitals are placed lower than the lower case characters, creating a slightly more dramatic, yet formal and retro look.

This font family is inspired by printed work made by the Elzevir family back in the XVIIth century at Leiden (NL). They worked with material from several type designers, but further investigations sends us to the tracks of one in particular: Robert Granjon. Granjon italics were way ahead of his time, making some really beautiful signs like swashy ampersands and minuscule v letters. This font also contains old style figures in the same fashion as they were printed, like the flipped number 8 and open forms in 6 and 9. This is as much a revival as an original design, because of their weights bold and heavy (both with italics) that were inspired on some titles. In this font you can also find a lot of ligatures, small caps, diacritics and even a fleuron for each weight and variation. Leidener came up from two books: Constantini Imperiatoris (1611) and Exercitationum Mathematicarum (1657), printed by Louis and John Elzevir on their Leiden Workshop, back in the day.

Fluted pillars… As for the name of "Cyceon", it is a "juice-drink" that they made in ancient Greece...! In this font the straight lines are not vertical but inclined like something from the Doric columns!!! There are two versions of letters. In the first version, it is of a normal character, while in the second version I have mixed some capitals with lower case letters. I have given them the acronym Msc "miscellaneous". I tried in this way to give another version of the small capitals and I think they show a different view from the purely small capitals… And in this family, the “Strap”/“Strap Msc”/“StrapIt”/ and “Strap MscIt” with “Solid”/“Solid Msc”/“SolidIt”/ and “Solid MscIt” engage in the same way like… “Layered font families” as the previous series. This series is composed and includes twenty-four fonts with 642-658 glyphs each, with true italics and supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic.

This font was created while looking at the various shapes my handwriting consistently took, especially in the ways that letters would have breaks in them. Over the course of a few months I continually tweaked the letter forms and shapes, and lo and behold, I developed Deco Sans. This family currently only includes a thin weight, as I'm only one person, and very busy with college. I'm continuing work on a regular, bold, and possibly a future italic weight, but these may not be released for many months to come. As this is a very thin font, it should be used at sizes no smaller than around 16 or 18pt as it tends to get lost in whitespace, and looks best at large sizes. As such, this weight should be considered more of a display font than a text font, however, I predict a regular weight to be very readable and much more useable for the everyday.

LOOK OUT! It's kinda creepy, we know, but we're convinced that this font does whatever a spider can -- in fact, we believe it can actually spin a web of pretty much any size, and even catch thieves as if they were bugs of some sort -- let's say flies. In fact we'd almost go so far as to say that, in the chill of night (perhaps at the scene of a crime) this font may just arrive like a streak of light in the nick of time. We're releasing this font now not for wealth or fame, we ignore those things, action is our reward. Here at Comicraft we think of life as a great big bang up, and whenever there's a hang up, you won't find us climbing -- or crawling -- the walls... well, not without STICKY FINGERS anyway. This is our first font, based on Peter's own personal way of writing uncials, The rounded letters of the fourth to eighth centuries. The characters in the caps position are more closely related to the classical Roman forms, and the lowercase position has letters that are the more rounded, medieval forms, at the same size, so they can be freely mixed, for a hand lettered appearance. This typeface is currently used for the titles in the TNT Television show "the Librarians". It was originally designed in 1998, and is now available in Open Type Format.

To tell you the truth, I don’t know what a juicy advice is - other than I guess it’s something positive and maybe even helpful. Well, what I do know is that this Juicy Advice is positive, helpful and playful. It’s a handmade comic font, with an outline version to compliment the Regular version. The outline version is also handmade, but not entirely sticking to the boundaries of the shapes of the Regular version. This leaves the outline somewhat off, but deliberately in order to keep the authentic feeling.

Rufina was as tall and thin as a reed. Elegant but with that distance that well-defined forms seem to impose. Her voice, however, was sweeter, closer, and when she spoke her name, like a slow whisper, one felt like what she had come to say could be read in her image. Rufina’s story can only be told through a detour because her origin does not coincide with her birth. Rufina was born on a Sunday afternoon while her father was drawing black letters on a white background, and her mother was trying to join those same letters to form words that could tell a story. But her origin goes much further back, and that is why she is pierced by a story that precedes her, even though it is not her own. Maybe her origin can be traced back to that autumn night in which that tall man with that distant demeanor ran into that woman with that sweet smile and elegant aspect. He looked at her in such a way that he was trapped by that gaze, even though they found no words to say to each other, and they stayed in silence. Somehow, some words leaked into that gaze because since that moment they were never apart again. Later, after they started talking, projects started coming up and then coexistence and arguments, routines and mismatches. But in that chaos of crossed words in their life together, something was stable through the silence of the gazes. In those gazes, the silent words sustained that indescribable love that they didn’t even try to understand. And in one of those silences, Rufina appeared, when that man told that woman that he needed a text to try out his new font, and she saw him look at her with that same fascination of the first time, and she started to write something with those forms that he was giving her as a gift. My beautiful mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2011. Our family's resolution was to love my mom through this time- to stay by her side and remind her each day that she is not alone and that she is loved as she walks this difficult road. This font was made in her honor.

A 'quick' font, originally made for the 25th anniversary of SSP Printing Co. in Amsterdam. First used for an intro spread in Wired Magazine (#3.05, May 1995): "The problem with computers is that they don't have enough Africa in them. Ignorance is a script typeface that mimics traditional handwriting found in America in the 19th century. Full of vitality and personality, this typeface includes a wide range of Opentype ligatures, alternates and swash characters that allow multiple choices for each setting. This design is principally aimed for use in display and titling setting that will reveal it's finer details.
