Cassandra has two kinds of letters, wide Capitals on the (shift) capitals and narrow ones on the (no shift) lowercase. You can match them as you like. In Hammered all the letters are made up of hammers and an occasional nail. It is caps only, but the characters on the lower-case keys differ from those on the upper-case keys. There are two versions of Killer Ants, regular and bold. Regular is a very cool cracked up looking font that will be great for all kinds of stuff. This Bodoni caps only font was an experiment from Dave Farey how tall such a Bodoni could be elongated in its design. It reminds to the look of a fence, but in large sizes it may fit on a narrow window.

The rasterized square (clear, therefore 4 as part of the font name) was the constructive basis. The intention was to put all characters within this grid and produce a highly structured, yet lively, resting in itself, display font. Relaxed but exciting, just. An absolutely noteworthy detail are the classical construction principles (based on a typography book from the 50's for poster designers), the so-called optical weighting, derived and slightly exaggerated character elements: The characters are not purely symmetrical and the curve shapes do not close justified with the surrounding square. Loops and tongues slightly hang over; the upper bows are slightly less protruding than lower ones, etc. The kerning is tuned to fit these design details: the white space between the characters match the same filling space.

Italian type design master Aldo Novarese was not famous for making calligraphic designs, nor had he any interest in them. He is much better known for his text faces, and quite innovative sans serif and decorative designs which became the definition of what we now know as techno and modern. But in 1968, Novarese surprised everyone with a fantastic flowing deco script entitled Elite. Novarese's formula of simple soft curves and toned-down swashes makes for one of the most unique alphabets ever seen, not to mention one of the best flowing and most legible scripts. This is now its digital incarnation, named Fontella. Fontella's applications are virtually limitless. This is the sort of script that can feel at home pretty much anywhere; a sign, a fridge magnet, a bumper sticker, a greeting card, a movie poster, a book cover, music artwork, magazine ads, newsletter headlines, etc. Digitized from original specimen and expanded with a few built-in alternates and ligatures by Rebecca Alaccari, the font was named after the famed jazz singer Fontella Bass. These letters are just so sweet they had to be called Fontella.

Opal Pro is a text family designed by Hannes von Döhren in 2008. It gives every text a noble character. The typeface has long ascenders that clearly rise above the capital letters and a low x-height. Opal’s letters sport inktraps at stroke junctions, which on one hand create a cutout feeling and on the other hand strengthens the image in larger point sizes. In total, the letterforms have clear emphasis on their verticals and horizontals; they do not fear the weight on their curves. In addition to the Italic and Bold, the Opal type family includes a Script face, whose letterforms include connections, similar to handwriting. On top of that, the typeface possesses swash letters for italic and script, small caps, many ligatures and borders & ornaments. With a little bit of care, designers will be able to create the finest of traditional, elegant work with this family.

Inspired by old school sign painting techniques, Grand is a display condensed sans serif that isn't shy to put its foot down. Its verticality and bulky curves combined with its sharp angular connections between the bowls and stems give Grand a distinctive look and feel. Shelflife is a display typeface with some extras under the lid. It features all the Standard Open-Type features you'd expect, like Class Kerning and Ligatures, plus some other useful additions and of course accented characters for most European languages and others. In essence it's an easy-to-read headline font with clean lines and a bit of character. There's an outline version that can be layered with the standard version to give the shadow effect seen in the accompanying graphics, simplicity itself to do. There's boxed headlines for SALE, SPECIAL, DISCOUNT (20 in total) all ready-made, plus some which can be tilted at an angle, and done automatically - just easily typed in; easy-to-do bullet numbers; a choice of square or rounded dots on j,ffi, and so on in Stylistic Alternatives; and shorter alternatives for U and N with accents. Details are included in the zip files. The zip file will contain both the OTF and TTF versions of the font. Install only one version, either the OTF or TTF, but not both - otherwise you will get all sorts of incompatibility issues and problems.

An isolated letters typeface design with a comic feel. All letters start with a prominent circular dot. All final shape letters end with a smaller dot, in addition. The Nuqat (Arabic for dots) font family has four members which include two weights, normal and bold, and comes in regular and left-slanted italic styles. This font family design follows the guidelines of Mutamathil Taqlidi type style with one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined in the latest Unicode Standards, and one additional final form glyph, for the freely-connecting letters in traditional Arabic cursive text. The Nuqat font family employs variable x-height values. Nuqat includes only Lam-Alif ligatures. Soft-vowel diacritic marks, harakat, are selectively positioned. Most of them appear by default on the same level, following a letter, to ensure that they would not interfere visually with letters. Tatweel is a zero-width glyph. Keying the tatweel key before Alif-Lam-Lam-Ha will display the Allah ligature. Nuqat includes both Arabic and Arabic-Indic numerals, in addition to standard punctuations.

A simple rough font. Kraft is a rough techno-style sans serif meant for setting text in all capitals. Instead of lowercase letters there are capitals of smaller height but with the same stroke width. They make tighter type. Characters are pressed really close together which creates the visual rhythm of very narrow and very wide openings. The wide strokes allow free use of graphics. This font is designed for putting on coarse surfaces, for breaking, crumbing, scratching, or making stencils on concrete.

Ziro expresses itself boldly and spontaneously. It consists of two different sets of capitals to help create natural handwriting effect. The letter "I" is treated like a lowercase "I" and the letter "O" has a dot in the center. The lowercase variation does not have a dot in the center for those less adventurous applications. Ziro is loose and raw in larger sizes and therefore has many useful applications that may include restaurant logos, menus, boutiques, packaging, etc.

Linotype Party Time is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. The typeface is the work of Bulgarian designer Christo Velikov and is composed exclusively of capital letters. Different components make up this cheeful, frolicking font: stripes, dots, triangles, arrows, a trumpet, a ribbon, and others. The characters of Linotype Party Time stand straight on the base line while those of Linotype Party Time Drunk take on the stance typical of this state. Linotype Party Time is perfect for anything which has to do with fun and should be used exclusively in larger point sizes to emphasize the details which make the figures so unique.

Over the years, I've used Impact a lot. But, not because I liked it—rather because it was the only font I could find with the bulk I needed for a given title or whatever. I finally decided to make my own. It was originally built off Librum Sans Bold, but I quickly made a mask of Impact for the widths, bumped the x-height way up, made the horizontals much heavier, and on and on. You know how it is when you start designing. The result is a black sans with the bulk of Impact and much more interesting character shapes. I suspect I'll use it a lot.
