Andes, designed by Daniel Hernández, is a display typeface that has neo-humanist characteristics. Its different terminals, among other elements, give it a look of mixed typography. The idea started with the 1934 sheet music of “Mazurka Amabile”. Its hand drawn title had most of the letters rendered in a rectangular shape [‘square’ in the sign trade] that featured rounded corners and terminals made by the shape of the lettering pen nib. A few letters were rounder in design than others, so those were scrapped in favor of a more consistent character shape throughout the font. Pen Nib Square JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Bulletin Script was a style offered by several American wood type manufacturers in the late 19th Century. It may actually be one of the most iconic styles of the late 1960 Psychedelic era when Victorian revival was in full swing. The style known as "Bulletin Script No. 2” varies from the more commonly seen Bulletin in that its bottom strokes have a concave swash to them rather than rounded bulbous bottom terminals. This new digitization features over 300 glyphs including Central European characters.

The 1930s-era French alphabet collection entitled “La Lettre Dans le Decor & La Publicite Modernes” (which somewhat translates to “The Letter in Modern Decor and Advertising”) has page after page of attractive and unusual type interpretations. One particular Art Deco design puts an entirely different spin on the classic “rounded terminals and geometric design”. Unusual character shapes add a fresh new/old take to the “Streamline Movement”. The aptly-named Deco Francois JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Vladimir Script is a brush-style font, similar to the kind of lettering found on old hand-painted department store signs during the 1950s. The letters have a steep slant, and the uppercase letters and the numbers are rather informal. Many of the letters' strokes end in looped terminals, some with dynamic amounts of contrast. The font is actually not a revival of ‘Avant Garde’—by Herb Lubalin—but it takes its spirit. This typeface was inspired in my dragon drawings, I like dragons and I thought in designing a special font with that inspiration. As the picture tells it, I gave a beveled shape to its terminals, looking like brush traces. Some characters are intentionally opened to give it a distinctive appearance. The number "3" has a different form, combining a wide angle and an opened circle, variating the way to make it. This font is special for some titles and it can even be used in comic dialogues.
