A rubber stamp printing set from the 1930s (or possibly earlier) was the model for Winery JNL. Containing a pleasant serif font, it also provided a few little touches unusual for such toy sets of the time. The horizontal crossbar of the H has a diamond embellishment, as does the horizontal stroke of the number 3. Additionally, the lower right tail of the G curves away from the letter and the Q has a spiral tail. Re-drawn from scans of the original stamp impressions, this typeface is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Commercial Script is a sophisticated copperplate script design. Its capitals are elaborate initials, and the lowercase letters join together in the style of real handwriting. Commercial Script's elegant refinement makes it a classic and ever-popular typeface. The spark behind this typeface comes from centries-old English Spencerian copperplate calligraphy. In 1985, the American typefoundry Barnhart Brothers & Spindler released a typeface in this style. This was redesigned by ATF's Morris Fuller Benton in 1906, and ATF released Commercial Script" in 1908. In 1994, Letraset' released this digital version of the typeface."

The first cuts of Trade Gothic were designed by Jackson Burke in 1948. He continued to work on further weights and styles until 1960 while he was director of type development for Mergenthaler-Linotype in the USA. Trade Gothic does not display as much unifying family structure as other popular sans serif font families, but this dissonance adds a bit of earthy naturalism to its appeal. Trade Gothic is often seen in advertising and multimedia in combination with roman text fonts, and the condensed versions are popular in the newspaper industry for headlines.

Adverb Mono is an atypical monospaced, squared proportional, slab-serif and low contrast typeface inspired by the American Type Founders' "OCR-A" and the latest work of Adrian Frutiger "OCR-B" designed during the second half of the 20th century. Rohn Rounded is a rounded version of Rohn. This family is a modern squarish typefamily with a large x-height and soft feeling. Its letterforms are based on the shape of square with rounded corners. Karben 105 Mono is a monospaced variation of Karben 105. The clean and pure geometry of Karben 105 makes it highly suitable for adaptation to this monospaced variant. It has an even look and retains its legibility at very small sizes. Karben 105 Mono is available in a family of five weights and includes an extended character set to include accents for Central European languages. Karben 205 Mono is also available as a monospaced variant of Karben 205. There is also a stencil version of Karben 105 available.

Samuel Welo’s “Studio Handbook for Artists and Advertisers” contained dozens of hand-lettered alphabets used as inspiration for both the sign trade and for graphic designers. Intertitle Nouveau JNL – available in both regular and oblique versions – was originally an alphabet produced by a round lettering nib, and was first shown in the 1927 edition (later reprinted in the 1960 edition). It is reminiscent of the lettering used on intertitle cards of the silent film era. This font marks an amazing milestone - the 2000th release by Jeff Levine Fonts since its inception in January of 2006.

As a result of fascination for East European type design, MRF couldn’t resist to make a unique interpretation of a typeface named Pracht. Originally made by the Czech type designer Carl Pracht in 1941–43. Having a rather calligraphic style both in regular and italic, MRF preferred it to be more straightforward and modern-looking. The italic version was executed with traditional italic letters (a, f, g, k, v, w and y). The numerals were made in a classic manner as old-style figures. Can be treated as both a text and display font.

Contane Text is the text optimized version of the Contane family. More solid, more robust, it repesents the down-home addition to the more subtle Contane family. Stronger hairlines, solid serifs, and slightly more comfortable proportions make it appropriate for bold headlines, as well as for small text sizes. 20 styles offer fine graduation of the weights. All weights contain small caps, ligatures, superior characters, proportional lining figures, tabular lining figures, proportional old style figures, lining old style figures, matching currency symbols, fraction- and scientific numerals, matching arrows, and alternate characters.

The specimen book Alphabete: ein Schriftatlas von A bis Z identified the pattern for this typeface as Stymie Black Flair. Although neither the designer nor the original foundry is identified, it bears a strong resemblance to the work of Dave West for Photolettering in the 60s and 70s. Big, beautiful and bodacious, it’s a natural choice for attention-grabbing headlines. Many alternate characters available: see the full character map. The PC PostScript, TrueType and OpenType versions contain the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Every day we are faced with designing on small screens and new formats; This is where condensed fonts have great potential, as they make the most of tight spaces in big headlines. Manchester Condensed is a typeface family designed by Vástago to be applied in large headlines in different formats, such as web, editorial or packaging. Just to mention a few. Different Manchester weights enhance performance at large type sizes, providing hierarchy and imposing style with its elongated shapes. Its use in capital letters is remarkable and fits perfectly into very precise diagramming spaces.

Corso is a clean condensed sans serif font family. It comes in upright, slanted and italic, in six weights each. It includes useful typographic features such as fractions, ligatures and case sensitive forms. Also included are double- or single-storey versions of a and g, you can switch via stylistic OpenType sets. Other letters with alternative forms accessible the same way are ß and ampersand. Corso works especially great for larger size uses such as signage, headlines or posters. But that doesn’t mean that it isn’t also useable for short texts.

Ryo is a Japanese kana typeface design composed of hiragana, katakana and some punctuation marks. Available in four weights--extra light, light, regular and medium, Ryo Text has been specifically designed for use when producing text settings. Supplied in the cross-platform OpenType format, this special kana font can be used to supplement or replace the existing kana designs in existing Japanese fonts that contain full character sets. Creative professionals using the Japanese version of Adobe InDesign may use that program's Composite Font tool to easily combine Ryo Text with other typefaces.

Eurostile, created in 1962 by Aldo Novarese for the Nebbiolo type foundry, is one of the most popular sans serif fonts of all, and has been for about 50 years. Originally designed as a screen font it was very popular from the beginning, even though it is only a slightly modified version of the 10-year-older Microgramma, but completed with lower case characters. On public demand, URW++ has expanded its range of Eurostile with Eurostile Round with 19 additional styles. Quite like Futura Round by URW++, Eurostile Round works perfectly well as webfont.

TWO LAYERED FONT: Be sure to get both the FRONT and the BACK! Maintaining simultaneous shades of whimsy and versatility is no simple feat, but the meticulously constructed Stately Gothic accomplishes just that, elegantly. Stately Gothic is a redrawn version of Grit Gothic. The strong vertical character of this stacking/layered typeface make it an ideal solution for use where legibility matters most: posters, logos, book and album covers, and so on. It is part of Grit History Series B along with Heirloom Artcraft, Worn Gothic, Grit Sans, and Grit Gothic.

Baskerville Display PT is a type family intended for large and extra large point sizes. It was inspired by the faces of John Baskerville and designed for expressive display typography. Two weights of Baskerville Display with matching italics are much lighter than the existing text versions of Baskerville. Each of them is an ideal partner for ITC New Baskerville. A good addition to the family is Baskerville Poster which will look great in very large sizes. The font was designed by Arina Alaferdova under the supervision of Dmitry Kirsanov and released by ParaType in 2016.

Boondock is another Imre Reiner design resurrected from the ashes of hot metal type for digital use. This wild paint font is a revival of the fascinating Bazaar brush type from 1956. Boondock has some very unique characters that combine to form a statement of casual but loud strength, seriousness and raw primal emotion. Great for short sudden-impact spurts, like book cover titles, single sentence headers, movie posters and music sleeves. Alghera Pro is a casual script font family.  It was digitally engineered in 1996 by Pat Hickson of P+P Hickson and Steve Jackaman of International TypeFounders, Inc. (ITF).  Jackaman revamped the family in 2017 and added wider language support to include Western, Central, and Eastern European languages. Alghera Pro has a hand-written, antique feel, and was inspired by an old label on a bottle of Portuguese wine.  As with all the Red Rooster “Pro” versions, the family contains a 40% larger glyph set and improved designs.

A circa-1951 toy set called “Kusan Kavalcade of Letters” was comprised of molded plastic letters and numbers a child could play with, trace and arrange to learn their alphabet and numerals. Typographically, the design was all over the place – from sans serif characters to those with some spurred serifs and even some stenciled characters because of the nature of manufacture. As odd as this combination seems, it was novel enough to be turned into a digital typeface called Stencil Playthings JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Journal Sans Old School is a new, modernized digital version of the widely popular Journal Sans. The new typeface preserves the character of the geometric sans from the famous “Science and Life” magazine of the 1960s. The weight of the basic styles corresponds to the Journal Sans regular and bold from the Soviet linotype catalogs. Also, the original vertical proportions and character forms match the original. Cyrillic Alternates, Greek language support expand the range of font’s usage. Journal Sans Old School was designed by Natalia Vasilyeva and released by Paratype in 2019.

The hand-lettered title, cast and crew credits for 1943's "Presenting Lily Mars" (starring Judy Garland and Van Heflin) inspired Pocatello JNL, but the name of this typeface has another Judy Garland connection. In the 1954 remake of "A Star is Born", Judy sings of being born in a trunk in a theater located in Pocatello, Idaho. The name of this Midwest town had such a great sound to it, so it was the perfect choice for the font's name. Available in regular, oblique, bold and bold oblique versions.

Elfen-Fraktur is monolinear blackletter typeface, that was originally designed by M. Beck and published in 1919. This revival comes in two extended versions with a complete Latin 1 character set: Elfen-Fraktur A uses the original blackletter skeletons and is suitable for setting texts with traditional German typesetting and orthography rules. Elfen-Fraktur B includes modernized letter designs for a broader and more legible use in various languages. A free bonus is the set of 22 border elements called Elfen-Schmuck. Smiling Cat is a cute little font. It is an adaptation of and older font of mine: Harimau Dua. I have had many requests for a bold version of Harimau, so I started working on it, changed a few glyphs, redid the kerning and cleaned it up. Rather than adding it as an extra bold style to my existing font, I thought it’d be better to launch it as a new one. Smiling Cat is handmade, cute and quirky, it would be ideal for Children’s Book Covers. Comes with a litter of diacritics.
