Satero was designed by Prof. Werner Schneider in 2007. Never before have we had so much written material to consume; this is the age of mass-communication. Unfortunately, the decision of which typeface to use is too often made lightly. The typeface is one of the most elementary means of language, and it can play a major role in a text's legibility and the amount of time the reader needs for it. The Satero Type System offers a high degree of legibility due to its dynamic and forms. The individual characters have been based on classical concepts. They are clearly made, and leave all unnecessary elements behind. The type works to create an environment of extreme legibility. Essential parts of the a, c, e, s, and r are to be found at the x-height line, which is the most important area of a line of text in determining legibility. The Satero Type System includes two members whose basic forms are the same. The Sans Serif members are more horizontally differentiated than common grotesques, which aides their legibility. The Serif design employs asymmetrical serifs, avoiding elephant feet" altogether. Their dynamic is progressive. The condensed nature of the seriffed counterparts is optimal for newspaper and magazine applications, where space is at a premium and paper must be saved. All fonts in the Satero Type System include a number of alternate glyphs, as well as ligatures and proportional lining figures; all weights except the Heavy and Heavy Italic fonts are also equipped with small caps, small cap figures, and oldstyle figures as OpenType features. A playful caricature of a midcentury grotesque, Guzzo is a fresh addition to the Monotype Library. Imperial Granum is designed primarily as a Roman Title and lettering face, combining formality and dignity with a delightful touch of 'Arts and Crafts' like hand drawn design. The regular form of Imperial Granum (which is inspired by a beautifully hand-lettered early 20th century food advertisement) offers two sizes of capitals, in order to provide true 'small-capitals' lettering. Similarly, the Ornamental form consists exclusively of capitals and is designed to be able to mix and match with the regular form. Designed for ParaType in 2007 by Isabella Chaeva. The type is based on Bukvarnaya (TextBook) photocomposing version designed in 1987 by Emma Zakharova. The initial Bukvarnaya for metal composition was created at Polygraphmash in 1958 by Elena Tsaregorodtseva. It was developed for primers and the first level school textbooks. An early sans serif ('Grotesque') with half-closed static letterforms. For use in book and magazine typography, advertising and headlines. Also may be useful as screen font.

Steve Jackaman and Ashley Muir. It was our initial intention to develop a suitable lowercase for Les Usherwood's 'Elston' typeface, based on a few characters from an old German typeface called Hermes Grotesque (Woellmer, Berlin). However, the new design quickly took on a life of its own, and we decided to call it ‘Creighton’. Originally released as a four font family, we have now added eight more weights and made the entire family into 'Pro' versions for good measure.

Bushman a font with capitals and decorative foliage letters. It works pretty simply - just type a word as usual with first capital letter, and it will automatically make the first two letters with growing leaves. The second big part of this set is a supporting font Bushman Sans. It's a modern grotesque font with 7 weight variations. A contemporary interpretation of grotesque (historic) typestyle, relying on geometric shapes applied to a grid. Idiosyncrasies within the typeface are based on how this grid is constructed and applied rather than those inherent in drawing type with a pen or cutting from a block of wood. Other grot types retain the quirks of original woodcut typefaces. Elephant has a different vocabulary of quirks that remove it from being too reverential or constrained to a historic context.

Jaroslav is a typeface that breaks down typical assumptions on the construction of a monolinear grotesque, but still maintains excellent readability and the recognizability of individual characters. The sensitively-balanced type family of five weights is accompanied by a distinctive italic, so it works well with both expressive titles as well as shorter texts. This is why all weights include small caps, nine types of figures, alternatives, a large number of ligatures, arrows and other ornaments.

Book Country first appeared on a poster for "New York is Book Country". It was inspired by the lettering of Ben Shahn protesting the 1927 execution of Italian radicals Nicolo Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. The letterforms effected an urgent and powerful message. The font includes a derived lower case and an OpenType contextual feature which maintains the rhythm of the uneven baseline when characters repeat to mitigate the stiff, mechanical feeling that occurs when casual lettering is typeset.

Cervo Neue is the new perfected and extended version of Cervo, containing 18 variants. It differs from the previous version with the higher accents over glyphs, enlarged punctuation, old-style numerals and the newly added varieties Semi Bold, Bold, Extra Bold and Black. Additionally, there is the variety of grotesque. Font Cervo is inspired by a “You And Me Monthly” published by National Magazines Publisher RSW „Prasa” that appeared from Mai 1960 till December 1973 in Poland.

Grafita is a typeface pair where one font is a strict geometric grotesque and the other is more playful and display. The first typeface is good for typing large amounts of text. The second is for headlines, logos, posters, covers, spectacular presentations, and more. The combination of these two fonts would be great for branding, websites and other tasks. In ancient Greece, the inhabitants of the Aegean islands and the northwest coast of Asia Minor were called "Eolia". Eolia is a family of sans serif fonts that combine grotesque style with certain geometric characteristics. This family composed of six weights harmonically controlled, has blunt strokes, perfectly defined with subtle modulations as a result of careful optical corrections. The control of the counterforms and accurate kerning gives it great readability, personality, aesthetic value and visual impact.

The cold, conservative strokes of a typical sans-serif/grotesque descend into a distinctive "bat-wing drip" in this subtly spooky font named after the band for which it was originally designed. 1955 Is a fresh grotesque interpretation. Any detail too historically referenced is replaced by strong geometry and idiosyncratic features. Round dots and punctuation, curved “l” foot, single storey “g” etc. all these details make 1955 a very contemporary typeface (unlike the name suggests!). With a range of weights going from Thin to Black including Italics, OpenType Features, extended character-set, tailored for print and digital, 1955 has everything to become your new go-to typeface for every project!

Figgins and Caslon may be names familiar to many as Type Founders. Indeed they are, but they are perhaps less well known for the emergence of Sans Serif type styles which have become part of our lives since 1889. The first hundred years of this style is celebrated with this design by Adrian Williams, completed in 1989. It echoes many features of the Gothic, Grotesque and Sans Serif models of the period, based particularly on the 1870 Figgins.

A linear geometric sans serif influenced by neo-grotesques and the early Swiss type foundries. Smooth, even letter shapes are carefully drafted from a grid to produce a uniformed, low contrast typeface with a high degree of readability. Details include 540 characters with alternative uppercase R, alternative lowercase a, e and g, 5 variations of numerals, manually edited kerning and opentype features. Ukrainian humanistic sans of universal purpose. Thanks to humanistic proportions and somewhat calligraphic sharpness, the typeface unobtrusively disturbs the eye, while remaining at the same time a “strong” modern grotesque. Asymmetric motive, distinctive letters and alternative glyphs give the font a Ukrainian flavor. The character set includes Slavic Cyrillic, European Latin and Monotonic Greek. Humus contains traditional and original ligatures, numeral variants, fractions, stylistic and historical alternatives in Cyrillic. The typeface was designed by Andrij Shevchenko in 2007-2022

Argot is inspired by condensed grotesque letterforms and would be a monolinear sans except for an unorthodox disparity between inner and outer shapes. Elegantly curved outlines contrast starkly with austere rectangular counters, suggesting a no-frills functionality, 20th century modernism, or an unsettling discordance. The squared off inner spaces also add clarity and crispness. Argot is available in three widths — Wide, Normal and Narrow. Poster Cut Neue is a hand-drawn, rough display family. With some retro grotesque sans serif inspiration, the characters give an informal and active look and feel. Waterman is a display font, its form is based on the figure of a fluid, creating a texture of undulating forms, rhythmic and free to make reading a stream wave experience. Waterman comes in Regular and Bold. The letter shape was developed from the design of the letter "a" and “l” lower case. The curve model is related on a stylized form of a fluid wave.

Tepuy is the name given to the ancient plateau-shaped mountains that abound in the Venezuelan Amazon. Tepuy is a display typeface inspired by the symbolic forms of the Venezuelan ethnic roots. It is constructed based on a very precise geometry of open forms that produce a double letter in form and counterform. Tepuy originates as an evolution curve of my Font Makiritare rectilinearly. Was devised for a book of photographs of the ancient mountains of the Venezuelan Amazon, its form and Makiritare are morphologically inspired crafts in the ethnic groups of the region. Tepuy is held in a very precise geometric construction based on rounded forms, each letter is a form envelope enclosing another in counterform, is a letter to display. Basic Commercial is a font based on historical designs from the hot metal typeface era. Many current poster artists like to reference the graphic type styles that were popular in the ’60s and ’70s. Zaftig is a contemporary font that takes the geometric and blocky inspiration from that era but then steps off in a modern direction. Since the beginning, “Histories” has been inspired by the shape of the letters displayed on the cover of fairy tale books or animated film covers. Likewise with the naming of the font "Histories" so that the message of the letters is conveyed. And this stylistic combination should also be reflected in the lowercase set which also allows to open up a spectrum of possible uses. Basic calligraphy represents a solid basis for the development of lowercase glyphs, ensuring proper interaction with uppercase letters. “Histories” features multiple ligatures that combine the playerful structure with a more attractive feel. Font designed from this who was used by an unknown printer in Lyon (France) to print the “Conte de Griseldis ” (Griseldis' tale), from Petrarque, inspired by Boccace, in 1495. The original font has a relatively small number of special characters and ligature, for the time. This font includes “long s”, naturally, as typicaly medieval but numerous letters - as accented ones - were added for this version. A render sheet, enclosed with the file, helps to identify them on keyboard. It is used variously in web-site titles, posters and fliers design, editing ancient texts or greeting cards as a very decorative and fine font... This font works at a small size like 9, remaining clear and easy to read on screen, but always better when printed.

Banister looks both contemporary and vintage. It contains a total of 12 styles including two main styles (Normal and Loaded), and for each style it comes with two widths (Semi-condensed and Semi-Expanded) and three weights (Light, Regular and Bold). The 40’s inspired style is subtle in banister, so it comes across more contemporary. Also, slightly curved strokes can be found on some letters, which gives a more organic feeling overall. Some time ago, I found myself in a clinic with my wife: at the time she was 20 weeks pregnant and had to do an ultrasound. To pass the time, I leafed through some (ladies') magazines which were lying around. Most of them tackled big issues like which shoes to wear and what type of foundation to plaster on, but one glossy featured a photo shoot. The photographer had found an old building with a beautiful art deco tile mural and had placed his skinny model in front of it. Fortunately for me, the mural featured a lot of text in a beautiful frilly style. I re-created the font I saw and it became "Jubileum" - which just means Jubilee in Dutch.
