REALLY fat faces seem to be popular these days, so here's my take on one. The strokes have been expanded to the brink of illegibility, but the letters remain distinguishable, especially in context. Also included are alternate versions of the letter A—suitable for use as first and last letters in a word— in the ASII circumflex and ASCII tilde positions. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Bulletin Script was a style offered by several American wood type manufacturers in the late 19th Century. It may actually be one of the most iconic styles of the late 1960 Psychedelic era when Victorian revival was in full swing. The style known as "Bulletin Script No. 2” varies from the more commonly seen Bulletin in that its bottom strokes have a concave swash to them rather than rounded bulbous bottom terminals. This new digitization features over 300 glyphs including Central European characters.

Binner Gothic is a very narrow sans serif thought to have been cut by the Bruce Typefoundry, in New York, around the turn of the century. The capitals are rather heavy with an elongated appearance, accentuated by the high-waisted treatment of characters such as B E F H M N P and R. The lowercase ascenders and descenders of the Binner Gothic font are cut at an angle. Binner Gothic is a display face particularly useful where space is at a premium.

ITC Cancione is the inspired work of California calligrapher and illustrator Brenda Walton. She gave a rough texture to her tall, thin all caps alphabet and its ornaments, making them look as though they were drawn with a brush on stone and then left to withstand years of weather and wear. The graceful letters are complemented by a variety of ornaments and flourishes as well as alternates and even stylized words making ITC Cancione perfect for greeting cards and stationery.

North Family is a small type family designed for books and pages of text in smaller or bigger sizes. It has been designed with special care for the Scandinavian languages, their letter combinations and special characters, but contains accented characters for all european languages. I have always liked Scandinavian folklore, although I have to admit that I didn’t know about the Fossegrim. Fossegrim is a fiddle or harp playing water sprite - usually friendly, but he has been known to lure children and women in deep water with his music. Fossegrim font is a little bit weird as well: I made it using a broken bamboo satay skewer and Chinese ink. Alf Becker was a talented sign writer and a prolific contributor of unique alphabets to Signs of the Times magazine. More than one hundred of his designs were showcased in monthly installments with each new issue of the publication. Occasionally a type design is started - then set aside for whatever reason - before eventually being completed. More often than not, the original source material is forgotten, so proper attribution cannot be made. Such is the case for a hand lettered Art Nouveau alphabet likely found within the pages of an early Speedball lettering book from around the 1920s. This playful and casual design is now digitally reproduced as Nouveau Signage JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Nicolus Kessler was a printer of Incunabula in Basel, Switzerland. He produced numerous ecclesiastical works, Bibles, and an edition of the Golden Legend. This particular font is derived from one of his many typefaces. It has the virtue of both being at once fancy and elegant yet retaining a surprisingly easy to read property to it. This font has over 900 glyphs for modern usage and also includes a few of the more common historical abbreviations that were then present in printing.

Tudor Perpendicular is Greater Albion's seasonal Black letter release (not that we rule out the possibility of non-seasonal ones...) for 2012. As the name suggests, it is a design which emphasises, and yes, exaggerates for effect, the perpendicular up and down nature of Black Letter typefaces. Pelle Piano is the stage name for Per Ellstrom, a musician in Stockholm with an interest in irregular and informal lettering. ITC Coolman was inspired by lettering styles of the 1950s. “I have a passion for old '50s type lettering,” says Piano, “as seen on posters from B-movies and pocketbooks and cartoons.” Although ITC Coolman is not a script face, its caps work best with the lowercase, rather than together. The funky, bouncy look of Coolman cries out for beach movies.

Ciribiribin is an Italian ballad composed by Alberto Pestalozza in 1898. Many versions with different sets of lyrics have been recorded over the years. The hand lettering on the sheet music for one such popular version of the song was comprised of bold characters with a "semi-serif" treatment; that is, characters with partial or no serifs on certain strokes of the letters. Ciribiribin JNL extends this unique design into a complete digital typeface. Available in both regular and oblique versions.

I bought something online, but when I received it, it wasn’t exactly what I had hoped it would be. So I read the return policy and sent it back. And… came up with this font and its name in the process! Return Policy is a hand drawn slab serif, inspired by a bunch of slab serifs from the early 20th century. Return Policy has been given a ‘grunge’ overhaul, making it ideal for sturdy products, websites with an industrial look and manly posters.
