Although initially inspired by the neon sign in front of Canter’s Delicatessen in Los Angeles, the design of Deliscript Upright and Deliscript Slant soon took on a life of its own–and its own distinctive look. Like its sibling Metroscript, Deliscript has many features that expand its usability such as the the variable length tails which can be accessed in 6 different styles, and the never before seen crossbars which can be extended outward in either direction from the lower case “t”. Throw in the special “WordLogos”, tons of ligatures and foreign accented characters, and you have a recipe for typesetting that approaches the look of hand-lettering. Now here's a font with an unusual backstory. You may recall that a while ago we discovered that Tim Burton was using an outdated version of one of our fonts for the interior titles in his The Corpse Bride. Well, our quest to get hold of him didn't bear any immediate fruit, but in a totally unrelated event we were contacted by the graphic arts company working with the overseas distributors for The Corpse Bride and it turned out that they needed a font based on the main title of the movie so they could keep the same style when they retitled it into other languages. The original title was either hand lettered or a heavily modified font, bearing some resemblance to our Ligeia and Tuscarora fonts, so we had to create a whole font more or less from scratch and extrapolate most of the letters from the very limited sample in the original title by identifying certain consistent characteristics and building new characters around them. It was a lot of work, but the good news is that they didn't want exclusivity, so we've got the font to add to our collection. We ended up calling it Beynkales which means 'Bone Bride' in Yiddish, which makes sense given the context of the movie. So here it is, in all its tattered glory, and bound to end up in our Halloween font selection later this year as well. Beynkales Alternate is a companion font that includes a full set of alternative upper and lower case characters which can be used on their own or in combination with the characters from Beynkales to create a more varied and handwritten look.

This all caps display font is defined by its close spacing and thick serifs for a distinct appearance. Inspiration came from old movies set in the Wild West. The characters are tall in stature so works well in spots with limited space. Use Durango Western for a wanted poster, social media, or team logo. Basic/Extended Latin, European accents, punctuation, diacritics, kerning, and Cyrillic characters are included. The eroded version features varying levels of distress between the uppercase/lowercase and contains a few alternates. Buinton Rough is roughed up version of Buinton. There are three versions with increasing distress level. Buinton Rough is a script typeface with noble and vintage looks. A contemporary slab-serif which revisits aspects of Robert Besley’s all-time classic Clarendon, designed around 1842 for Thorowgood and Co. and named after the Clarendon Press in Oxford. The original design was subsequently extended by Sheffield foundry Stephenson Blake in the 1950s into a widely-used, robust workhorse family. Albiona uses the inwardly curved stroke terminals of the same foundry’s Grotesque series, while rationalising or removing entirely Clarendon’s ball serifs, flicked tails and other eccentricities to make it more functional in contemporary settings. The family consists of five weights plus italics and a stencil, and includes oldstyle and tabular numerals. Its clean readable style suits both text and headline setting.

English Grotesque is based on the proportions of an early 20th century signwriter’s sans, emphasising the characteristic idiosyncrasies of type of the period. Sharing a similar Roman circle-and-square construction as Gill Sans or Johnston Railway, it has a wide T and W, a narrow S, and a long-tailed R. The Roman alphabet did not include a lower-case, and therefore early sans-serifs tended to base theirs on handwritten or cursive models, resulting in more even character widths. English Grotesque, by contrast, carries the more characterful proportions of the capitals through to the lower case. Graham Cracker is a fun, cartoony and child-like font that can't help but fill you with happiness!
