Inspired by the 1977 anthology horror film called "Uncanny", Uncanny Cat PB captures all the awkward fun of the film's titling sequence. Feline revenge has never looked so good. This typeface was oodles of fun to flesh out, and is true to that purposefully awkward appeal that a lot of Pink Broccoli fonts are imbued with. Loaded with a collection of ligatures that combine and nest letters against each other, lending to the unique typesetting of this "uncanny" font.

"Hockeynight Sans Rough" is the Letterpress version of my font "Hockeynight Sans". It's a contemporary college-sports font with the little twist – that its a misprinted grunge font. With its detailed grunge textures it is designed to go big and bold. "Hockeynight Sans Rough" is an uppercase font and it offers alternate glyphs as lowercases. ITC Stylus is the work of American designer Dennis Pasternak, who based its forms on those of freehand architectural lettering from historical and contemporary sources. Pasternak points out that while the typeface emulates hand lettering, no pencil drawings or scanned art were used in its creation. A clean, symmetrical and modern typeface. The font (previously named "Heimat Grotesk") was developed by Florian Klauer for display and body copy application. What stands out about this font is it's large x-height and constant line-weight. Nearly all letters bend with a continuous unfaltering style, giving the impression all letters are cast from the same mold. Florin Sans comes with two weights plus matching italics with 268 glyphs each, and is available as TrueType and OpenType font.

A set-aside work file featuring a bold sans serif typeface that may or may not have had a vintage source history was given a new treatment. Initially, the solid design was converted to a stencil format and an experiment was undertaken to see what the alphabet would look like with a dual line treatment. Surprisingly, it turned out quite well and the end result is Dual Line Stencil JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

Redwood is the fresh and lively digitization of the popular ATF landmark, Raleigh Cursive. Drawn by Willard Sniffin in 1929, and introduced by ATF in 1930, this classic script is prominently featured in almost every published type history book, and proudly listed among every letterpress printer's type assets. Delegat is a comic book lettering font inspired by handwritting of Frank Ching. The family includes Regular, Italic and Bold version. Delegat contains two variations for each letter and ligatures to swap out any two identical letters that appear next to one another for a pair that is slightly different. A vintage piece of sheet music for "Waitin' at the Gate for Katy" (from the 1934 movie "Bottoms Up") provided the hand-lettered, Western-influenced lettering which is now available as Badlands JNL. A handlettered headline in the January 1953 issue of Park East magazine by wacko album artist Jim Flora provided the inspiration for this exercise in extreme lettering. Check out the [brackets] and the bullet point... like, endsville, daddy-o. Due to the complexity of this typeface, the font has no math operators. The Postscript and Truetype versions contain a complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252); in addition, the Opentype version supports Unicode 1250 (Central European) languages as well.

Happenstance came out of a play session with Bezier curves with a sense of fun built into its being. First came play, then came work. Thomas Edison once said,”Creativity is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.” Nikola Tesla thought the opposite. In this case, what started as inspiration took a lot of perspiration to corral into a usable font. So maybe the reality is a) different for different people or b) somewhere in the middle.
