The Fredrick Ullmer Co. in London acted as agent for many typefoundries, and this was one of their offerings. Some of the letters were rather outlandish, so we fearlessly decided to improve them. The result is this dated but pleasant font. The original didn't have a lowercase, so we added it.

Designator is a display modular monospace font. The typeface has a distinct technical geometry using sharp angled corners. "Designator" name is derived from Latin "designare" and means to mark, point out or to indicate. Designator is great for team sports, display work, invitations, writing, architecture, fashion, posters, logos and headings.

Authentic copy of the original, with a couple of minor changes to the caps, making them fit better. Although made for the American market by an American typefounder, we found this font in a York, England printshop when we went on a second visit to the famous DeLittle Wood Type factory.

Grand Atlantic is a powerful display package by Fenotype. It’s a genuine Brush script packed with features and Swoosh extras and it’s a striking condensed flared serif in two weights, designed with the same sharp edges on the flares as the Brush. Together they make stunning logotypes, posters or headlines. On top of that there’s a “Printed” version of each. Printed versions are the same but with rugged outlines and a print texture. Grand Atlantic is great for creating powerful identities for artisanal coffee brands, craft beer, organic juice or a sports teams. There’s many “terminal swashes” that you can put in the end of a word and it will connect to the last letter, and swirl under the word from there.

Very close thematically and in style to the rest of our “whimbats” (the Absurdies, Bizarries, Illustries, Genteta and Whimsies series), the Ombres contain a number of peculiar silhouettes and illustrations of people that range from cute to scary, with everything in between. Ombres offers152 pictures in 3 files. These imaginary characters were produced with different techniques: quick pencil sketches, ink, watercolour, though once digitized and simplified to bring them into the font files there is little apparent difference. The silhouettes, rather than flat shadows are more dimensional in their look, because they have been digitized retaining the original brushwork or pencil strokes of their source drawings. Some of them remind of the venerable tradition of metal stock cuts from vintage type foundries. The digitized results are quite different, but the energetic nature of the subjects has been mantained. Their vectorial file format means you can use them at any size with no loss of quality. Every Ombres dingbat offers ready-made images for a variety of creative projects. They can be used as they come or easily customized in any graphics program. At small sizes they are ideal spot illustrations with a whimsical touch; at large sizes they can bring a whole page, a spread or even a big poster to live.

Bordonaro Spur - Bordonaro Script’s partner - is a typography strongly influenced by old beer labels and includes some serifs based on Frederic W. Goudy’s Copperplate, but with some softened spurs adding an elegant and soft texture to the text. The font was originally developed for use in branding in baseball teams. The font is an all capitals font and includes 128 characters.

Many blackletter and calligraphic typefaces are elegant and can be used for items like invitations and liturgical or religious texts. Rankensteen is probably not one of them. Dragonblood is quite an unusual font: it was made with Parker ink and a Chinese fur brush. When all the glyphs had been vectorized, and I saw them in a text for the first time, the only appropriate name I could think of was Dragonblood. Dragonblood comes with a realm of diacritics.

All 6 fonts use the characters A - K and a - k to show two planets/stars/moons moving across each other. Nice and simple. There's a different number of points on the stars, or they're different sizes, and some appear to pass left-to-right, and some appear to pass the other way. Just type in ABCDEFGHIJK or abcdefghijk and you'll see. Two fonts have all the characters on the same level, (All-Black and Black+White). The Offset font has the 'sun/moon' with one slightly above the other and in black and white, and Half has them all-black. Partial has them even further separated in 2-tone. NearMiss is a very close shave. Comma, hyphen, and full stop/period give just a single symbol; there's a Space, and that's it.

Gianluca is a typeface of glyphic serif, or “flare” inspired by Aldo Novarese’s fonts from the 70s, with a fresh and modern touch. It is a type family that can be elegant in its normal version, or very playful, to compose from extensive texts to flashy headlines in books, magazines, labels, posters, branding and more. It has many discretionary ligatures in capital letters (with its diacritics) to play with the text, 5 stylistic sets: among them medieval style or references to Herb Lubalin, and some special letters. Gianluca consists of 5-weight fonts, from Thin to Extra Bold. All of them with matching italics. Colette is an inky handwritten script font designed to be easy to read and easy to use. Colette includes alternates and OpenType ligatures such as double letters or alternates glyphs that you can use to improve your designs and make them look natural and friendly. ITC Ironwork is the work of Serge Pichii, who was inspired by a piece of decorative lettering done by Jan Tschichold in the early 1920s. Tschichold had interlocked a series of rough sans serif letters and embellished them with scattered decorative elements. The original was of only capital letters, touching and overlapping like an ironwork gate made of letters. Pichii completed the typeface with lowercase forms and smoothed the edges. The scrolls of the capitals were extended to the lowercase and Pichii based them on iron scrollwork he found in Vienna and Prague. A lot of attention was paid to the elements of the typeface in order to 'smooth out' and balance proportional relations between the elements," says Pichii. ITC Ironwork is great for signage and display but also works well in short texts."

Majorelle is a textured script font designed by Fanny Coulez and Julien Saurin in Paris. This finely balanced font was designed to be easy to read, and because it’s just as important, easy to use.
