Hardbop is a typographic system inspired by jazz, especially the style it's named after "Hardbop". It's also inspired by the prolific graphic work of Reid Miles for the covers of Blue Notes Records in the '50s, Japanese jazz album covers of the '70s and condensed and grotesque hand painted signs. Hardbop also references classic fonts such as Impact, Bebas, Din, Frontage and TT Trailers, the latter in the exaggeration of certain characteristics such as counterforms and endings. Hardbop design works for titles and wide spaces and was specially designed for covers and posters, where its intention is not to go unnoticed. Equines Display is a versatile font family designed specifically for display purposes. I decided to draw the Regular style of Trivia Humanist not too light and the Bold not too dark. Delicate anatomy and moderate contrasts of serifed humanist typefaces aren’t usually born by interpolating between extremes, but rather by meticulous care for each individual letter. A delicious blend of a trace of punchcutter’s tool and calligrapher’s hand with as few historical reminiscences as possible. It stays away from any strong aesthetic colorations as well, which is a common feature of the Trivia family system. I wanted a clear and majestic typeface for book jackets, LP cover designs, posters, exhibition catalogues and shorter texts. But at the end it turned out excellent for largest books as well.

Lithuanian type designer Mindaugas Strockis created this slab FontFont between 1998 and 2002. The family contains 4 weights: Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic and is ideally suited for advertising and packaging, festive occasions, small text as well as software and gaming. Slope Sans is an original design that combines a technological shape model borrowed from the early Macintosh system fonts with organic, open elements looking futuristic in a retrospective manner. Designed as part of a font family without different weights, Slope Sans Pro provides OpenType features for alternate letter forms in two stylistic sets. The basic version works similar to a stencil font, an alternative set has consistently closed shapes and a more rigid appearance, while the second stylistic set offers some alternative letter forms. Headlines and shorter texts set in Slope Sans provide a variable, modern appearance. Slope Slab Pro goes very well with Slope Sans Pro and can be used as style variant or display.

Grimoire on the other hand combines two seemingly contradicting principles — calligraphic and constructive ideas — and makes them work together. The font is based on a modular system but simulates a handwritten typeface. Felix Braden about this concept: "I was so fascinated by this idea, that I have since designed a couple of typefaces following this principle, e.g. the psychedelic Bikini released by Volcanotype. Even my recent work, the multi awarded FF Scuba is inspired by this concept, however with increasing age I have become less interested in experimental typography and more so in designing typefaces which are more versatile in use." The Eixample project is inspired by modernist signage of various examples found in the Eixample neighbourhood in Barcelona. The name of each subfamily is related to its location or to specific elements of the original sign. Villa is the abbreviation for Carrer Villarroel (Villarroel Street), where the Villarroel Pharmacy has been displaying this sign since the first quarter of the twentieth century. The Eixample Villa typeface system consists of sturdy letters free of ornaments with an industrial aspect. Only the treatment of the curves borrows modernist features. Like the rest of the families in the Eixample series, Villa shows its origin as a display font, but it has been engineered to give good results at small sizes as well.

Bommer Slab Rounded designed by Eduilson Coan is the softer sister of Bommer Slab released in April 2014. This family includes 14 weights: seven uprights and seven italics and opentype features such as: all caps, ligatures, ordinal, fractions, numerator, denominator, superscript and subscript.

The thought behind this font was not to join vertical, horizontal and diagonal stems. Each stem is designed separately and arranged in a good manner to create glyphs. Something different from tradition; liberal, but in the limit.

Designed for the printing of a magazine, the Fontana Sistema was based fundamentally on the Spanish language as its natural and cultural context. Due to the spanish colonization of America, the spanish language has been influenced by native american terms that enriched it and caused significant changes in both the sound and form of words. These sounds and forms had a strong influence on the identity of text, substantially modifying the nature and the characteristics of the composition. The Fontana Sistema we present is the fruit of our desire to design a font that, based on the spanish language, would endow the publication with identity and at the same time offer a framework for typographic research.

Troquel is a fat font, with feminine curves. Soft edges give this slightly overweight typeface a big and beautiful happy style. Combining fatty with his sister outline version helps to provide a nice contrast between each weights glyphs. Troquel has uppercase characters, numbers, and the basic punctuation.

strokeWeight is inspired by the aesthetics of computer vector graphics. strokeWeight is the name of a processing programming function to set the thickness of a stroke. The single bezier curve that describes a stem as a centerline with a particular stem thickness represents the basic idea of this typeface.
