In late 1988 or early 1989 I noticed that the circular form of the sickle and the linear form of the hammer could be used to form all the letters of the alphabet. The result of that realization was RedLetter, a novelty or letterbat font. It is caps-only with the lower-case letters containing smaller versions of upper-case letters.

Boris is my son: he was born on January 7th and he is as cute as can be. Boris Brush font is a very loud, very useful brush typeface, which I created using some fine-haired brushes and black paint. Inspired by a handwritten Cyrillic placard seen in a book about the Soviet Union, Statue of Liberty's Underwear was envisioned as having been written with a very thick pen with a flat tip held horizontally. Additionally, the letterforms were sculpted to resemble lettering common in early 20th-century Russian constructivism pieces. A Cyrillic alphabet, or "azbuka", set was included in the font.

This is another grunge style hand drawn font I created with a poster marker. Including all Latin language extensions, Cyrillic and Japanese Hiragana and Katakana. It's an all caps font. I drew a couple versions of each letter then picked one of them for lower and one for uppercase so they can be combined for better flow and more even more natural look.

Yes, it is a clear reference to one of my all-time favourite movies: “The Wedding Singer”, but it is also a handmade, rough, organic looking ALL CAPS font. The letters are simple and legible, but vary in roughness and because of the Contextual Alternates, you get 5 different versions of each letter - leaving the text more lively and organic!

Joan Barjau used the pseudonym “Sniff” while working as a cartoonist for the Spanish satirical magazine “El Papus”, and Sniff is also the typeface based on the style of lettering he used for the balloons. A 1940s-era book from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers entitled "Topographic Drafting" features a page for "lettering construction and spacing" in the process of map making. The letters and numbers were formed on grids using that mechanical drafting process for uniformity in stroke width. This was the basis for Topographic Sans JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
