Back in 2011, Gelato Script was the best-selling brush script font on MyFonts, and has remained popular, appearing on everything from designer handbags to primetime TV shows; from food blogs to wedding invitations; from glossy magazines to (not so imaginatively!) ice cream shops. All these years on, and it struck me that there is much that could be improved on; there are certain glyphs that never quite felt right. So I decided to update Gelato Script, and this is the result, Gelato Luxe. What started as a simple update quickly spiralled into a total overhaul. The "Tichy" typeface is intended for use in titles, headlines and in short text blocks, like citates. However, the typeface is legible even in larger text blocks. It's strong appeal allows the typeface's usage mixed with other graphic elements of the layout without compromising it's readability and it's presence. The typeface's simple initial module (double braked at 135 degrees straight line), the strict rules of forming the letters lead to an unique typeface - masculine, strong and still legible. The Cyrillic glyphs are influenced by the work of the great Bulgarian typographers Boris Angelushev, Vassil Yonchev and Alexander Poplilov, who developed Cyrillic further in 60-s and 70-s of the XX century. Western, East European, Cyrillic, Baltic and Turkish codepages are supported. The font file contains all the basic ligatures, alternate glyphs and kern pairs. It can be used both on Windows and MacOS based computers. The history of "Tichy" typeface began many years ago with a project for logotype design for a small company. It was a kind of designer's game to try making some letters just using one single module. Development of the other glyphs of the latin alphabet was for many years a mandatory exercise for the young colleagues in our studio. Suddenly we realized that this project matured and creation of a new typeface started.

Fushar is a bold comic color font family which comes in 5 layer-styles easy to compose in a multicolor manner and 3 OpenType-SVG color styles to make the work faster and easier. Mr Robot is a typeface designed for our next book for children. We wanted to have a colorful, dimensional and edgy looking letters for headlines. There are three ways to use Mr Robot. You can align three text frames with same text but with different colors and font styles (Regular, Shadow 1 or Shadow 3 and Shadow 2) or with ALLinONE font style but select a different OpenType Stylistic Sets (set 1 is like Shadow 1, set 2 like Shadow 2 and set 3 like Shadow 3). This works great but we don’t like to have unnecessary text frames in our layouts so we added a very cool Contextual Alternates OpenType feature. You just need Mr Robot ALLinONE style and only one text frame. First make sure that Contextual Alternates is off. Type every character three times (RRROOOBBBOOOTTT), select colors for each letter (first letter of every three is a side shadow, second is bottom shadow and third is a front of the dimensional letter). When everything is set just turn Contextual Alternates back on. Styles and alignment will be set automatically. Check out the Users Manual for a visual explanation. For web fonts it is better (at least for now) to use the first method (with font styles) as the OpenType features are not supported in older browsers.

For several years I have been thinking about the design of a type family that explores, on the one hand, the modernist aesthetic that we know, from the Alphabet "a.r." designed by Władysław Strzemiński, and on the other, to the multiscript pre-war Warsaw. This is how the idea of creating the Polin Sans typeface was born. After researching on geometric variants of the Cyrillic alphabet, I was inspired by the text "Towards an open layout: A letter to Volodya Yefimov". I was intrigued by the fact that circular forms, which we are mostly familiar with in the Bulgarian Cyrillic, can be implemented in the classical version, without disrupting the reading process. At the same time, while working on typoteka.pl, I was fascinated by the Hebrew typeface jaffa, published by the Idźkowski & Sk-a foundry, which at some points looks like the Hebrew equivalent of the Alphabet "a.r.". Ben Nathan from Israel joined the project and was responsible for creating his native script. The idea of creating a multiscript family expanded to include Greek and Vietnamese. As a result, Polin Sans is a historical journey through the nooks and crannies of Polish modernism, which was created by people with diverse cultural backgrounds. The Polin Sans family was designed by Mateusz Machalski and Ben Nathan with the support of Michał Gorczyca and Małgorzata Bartosik.

The idea of Limes emerged at the seashore last year in late summer. Getting ready in advance for a dark winter, we've decided to design a special fontfamily which would bring a bit of vitamins and summer sun into the rough everyday routine and help us survive the cold winter. Limes is both a dream of the sun while it’s gone and a refreshing breeze for the time when it finally gets warm! Limes is a completely handwritten fontfamily and consists of 23 typefaces. To create Limes Sans and Limes Slab families, we've used regular watercolor brushes, and to create monolinear Limes Script, as well as for Catchwords and Dingbats, we've used a felt-tip pen with circular section. Limes Sans and Limes Slabs fonts work perfectly together with Limes Script due to the general handwritten idea, as well as due to the widths contrast – despite its width, Limes Script mixes well with narrower opponents and adds a bit of human spontaneity into the general handwritten concept. The Limes collection includes: Limes Sans (Thin, Light, Regular, Bold, Black & italics), Limes Slab (Thin, Light, Regular, Bold, Black & italics), Limes Script, Catchwords and Dingbats. This font began as an attempt of draw alternatives to the images of Microsoft’s Wingdings, but then grew beyond that. This new version from late 2010 has over 1400 characters, including almost all of the geometric shapes in unicode 2500 and 2B00 ranges, almost all of the arrows in the unicode 2100, 2700, 2900, and 2B00 ranges, almost all of the dingbats and symbols in the unicode 2600 and 2700 ranges, many of the pictures, symbols, and emoticons in the 1F300 to 1F600 ranges, and a few of the miscellaneous technical items in the 2300 range. There are also pictures on the standard open type letters, most of which can be accessed from the keyboard. However, most of the characters in this typeface have to be accessed using their unicode designation. In Windows this is done with the alt key and the unicode hex number. On the Macintosh the easiest way (and for the five digit unicode characters, perhaps the only way) is to use the “Special Characters” window under the Edit Menu in the Finder. A unicode index of the font is provided in a pdf file that was generated using FontLab. However, it only has four of the unicode digits for the five-digit elements. Almost all of the unicode numbers starting with F should have a 1 in front of the F.

A tessellation is a shape that can be used to completely fill the plane—simple examples are isosceles triangles, squares, and hexagons. Tessellation patterns are eye-catching and visually appealing, which is the reason that they have long been popular in a variety of decorative situations. These Tessie fonts have two family members, a solid style that must have different colors when used and an outline style. They can be used separately or they can be used in layers with the outline style on top of the solid style. For rows to align properly, leading must be the same as point size.
