Samman is a Kufic simple Arabic typeface. It can be used to decorate public signs in streets, airports, hospitals, schools, malls, hotels, mosques, and other public places. My family's surname is "Samman" which stands for the person who sells fat especially the one produced by cows ("Samn" in Arabic). Consequently, "Samman" Typeface was designed for eternizing the memory of my family. The main characteristic of "Samman" Typeface is the leaf-shaped style for some of its Arabic characters such as "Dad", "Sad", "Faa", "Meem" and others. The distinguishing artistic design of its "Haa" character adds a unique feature to this typeface especially when connected with other characters. The shape of the characters' "dot", "dots", and "point" is innovative; a triangle with a semi-circle shape. "Samman" Typeface is suitable for books' covers, advertisement light boards, and titles in magazines and newspapers. Its characters' modern Kufic styles give the typeface more distinction when it is used also in posters, greeting cards, covers, exhibitions' signboards and external or internal walls of malls or metro's exits and entrances. Zulia is located in the west of Venezuela and it is the state in where Joluvian grew up. It is a region of sunshine, high temperatures, oil and cheerful people, although we choose the name to honor his mother who is from there (zuliana) and who is proud of her land and everything that it represents the area. Zulia is also his first typographic project. It is based on two of his favourite calligraphic styles: italic and brush pen. He started with simple and contrasted strokes on paper with brush and marker. After that he developed the full alphabet and its various options for each letter, starting from a set of handmade forms that could be connected in different ways according to the user needs. What motivates him to involve this style was to create a differentiation with his daily work by generating a heavier type, contrasted and low rise. Zulia finally got life of its own with the participation of Alejandro Paul and a feedback of techniques and skills that were generated with the duo work. Zulia is not just a typeface, Zulia is his love of letters.

Axiforma was designed with the single idea of creating a font that starts with the letter A, because let's face it, this is the best letter. In the late 60’s, one of the best art publications in the country was Motive magazine, published (amazingly) by the United Methodist Church. Filled to the brim with poetry, essays, line drawing and woodcuts, it also featured some cutting-edge typography. Boxy/Code is based upon my memories of woodcut typography from that great magazine. Since Boxy/Code ’s lowercase consists of the uppercase’s negative spaces, it’s easy to combine the two with Layer Styles in Photoshop in order to achieve the effect I used in one poster above. It also works great if you use a well-known text as a background. This new version is totally redrawn and features all the Latin-accented letters. Uppercase consists of black capitals in boxes; lowercase features the negative spaces of those boxed capitals. Uppercase and lowercase line up exactly for 2-color effects.

FonteysPRO is the new and improve version of the Fonteys font family by Fernando Fuentes and the Eysner award nominated Albert Monteys. It is an informal font family designed to letter comics. Geogrotesque is a semi modular with a subtle rounded finish typeface. All the characters are based in the same formal principle with its corresponding optical adjustments in order to adapt the system to an alphabet for texts. Although the type family has a geometric or “technological” construction, the rounded finish provides it a warm appearance, making the typefaces nicer and nearby. Geogrotesque has been conceived to be used as a display typeface in publications or intermediate length texts, most of all the Thin and Ultralight weights which were meant to be used in big sizes. The type family consists of 14 styles, 7 weights (Thin, UltraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold and Bold) plus italics and it’s available in Open Type format. For more details see the PDF. The 1960’s and 1970’s are the inspiration for Sugarbang! Everything from music packages, beach party movies of the 60’s to cereal box art of the 1970’s are reflected in the kooky style that this font evokes. Sugarbang! is built on a random baseline so letterforms bounce up and down adding to the “zany” look of the design. Look to the second font, Koo Koo Puff, to be the next release in the Cerealboxx collection. Available now. It is a minimal font set which includes uppercase and lowercase letterforms. Suggested uses for the font would be above 42 points in size. Please note its normal tight spacing and that cap “T” and cap “L” have been specially kerned to account for the overhang of certain other letterforms. As a successor of Didots famous font, which marked the beginning of modern typography, the Monceau has inherited the spirit, elegance and sophistication of french style, although in a revamped design, typical for the first years of the 21st century. Liberated from its serifs and with soft and round small letters the Monceau approaches ornamental typography and thus perfectly lends itself to being enlarged: it’s a font that loves to be closely looked at. Its name, lent from the famous parc Monceau in Paris, evokes and reinvents in a modern graphical way all of the Parisian chic at the end of 18th and the beginning of the19th century (the time Didot was born), the French Revolution and Empire, the architecture of this business quarter and notably the arabesques of the monumental gates still present in our times.

Giulietta is a handwritten, fully connected script with ligatures and contextual alternates to help with flow and readability. Albiona Inked is a vintage distressed version of Albiona that evokes the urgency of teletext printers, typewriter ribbons and authentic hot-metal type on rougher paper. A contemporary slab-serif, it revisits aspects of Robert Besley’s classic Clarendon, designed around 1842 for Thorowgood and Co. and named after the Clarendon Press in Oxford. Subsequently extended by Stephenson Blake in the 1950s, Albiona adds the inwardly-curved stroke terminals of the same foundry ’s Grotesque series, and includes italics and old-style and tabular numerals. The original Clarendon’s ball serifs and calligraphic eccentricities have been rationalised and streamlined for functional contemporary uses. The family consists of five weights plus italics and a stencil, and its clean readable style is perfect for both extended text as well as headline setting. Benson Script is a script that is desperately trying to be anything but a script. With 3 contrast levels, and 2 styles, the six styles of Benson Script are an experiment in the diversity of a single stem width. Modernism’s desire to fit all elements within geometric constraints and adhere to strong verticals has spread throughout type design, but has had little to do with the frills and ornaments of script. Provincial Railway is the first product of argentine typographic archeology project called "Tipografía Histórica Ferroviaria" (Fabio Ares & Octavio Osores, since 2012). Is about the signboards of the stations of the P1 line of the Provincial Railway of Buenos Aires (1907-1977). The letter of this signboards can be described as display type, with a tall box and a constructivist style, with elementary geometric shapes and without line modulation. Although without a doubt, its differential feature is provided by the rectangular shapes that it has towards the ascending and descending lines, which in some cases coincide with the stems, showing a curious rhythm in the composition of the text line. The family is completed with complementary fonts of different styles. The proceeds from the sale of the fonts will be used to finance the project.
