Rifton is a heavy display typeface designed for use in large sizes. It is available as a regular and italic font or as one Variable Font with an italic axis. Installing the Variable Font offers users additional benefits because, in addition to the pre-defined “upright” and “italic” instances, the interpolations between them can be used. That allows you to have slanted text – but just a little less slanted than in the italic. Rifton is an all-caps design, but the letters mapped to the lowercase keyboard do not always have the same forms as the uppercase. That is most visible when it comes to the “s”, which takes a Star-Wars-style form (think of the Star Wars logo). The Rifton fonts also include OpenType features like ligatures – including some exciting discretionary ligatures – and super-wide alternate glyphs for several letters, including “B”, “E”, “F”, “H”, “L”, “N”, “P”, “R”, “T” and “Z”. Langston is an original design by Alex Kaczun. It’s part of a series of lettering experiments, manipulating body proportions, characteristic elements and spacing to achieve some dramatic visual effects. It is hard to characterize if Langston is an outline or inline font. The outline has the same thickness and proportions as the stems. And the inter-letter spacing is also visually similar. This creates a dynamic and interesting visual harmony throughout. Furthermore, certain design elements like the accents and punctuation symbols, break with the outline treatment, and morph into an interesting play between inline and outline. Earlier this year I visited a bakery in Newport Beach, CA and fell in love with the organic design and typography of the place. Hand-drawn menus, table cards, chalkboards, and wall quotes surrounded the charming spot. It inspired me to create a new font family based on the combination of hand drawn fonts. Included in this package are 5 font families, with 2 graphic ornament fonts. Each font family contains at least a light, medium and bold. Here is a breakdown of what's cookin' at Catalina's Bakery: Catalina Anacapa: Tall and skinny, this font comes in 3 weights for both sans and slab serif styles. It includes contextual alternatives (giving 3 versions of each letter), stylistic alternatives for select letters (A, K, P, Q, R, Y) and also includes Small Caps. Catalina Avalon: Based off Anacapa, this sub family has a high contrasting line weight. It comes in light, regular and bold as well as an inline alternative for both sans and slab serif styles. The design of Beau Sans was inspired by Bernhard Gothic which is considered one of the first contemporary American sans serifs and was designed by Lucian Bernhard in the late 1920s. Panos Vassiliou came across this font while attempting to reduce the design elements of a text typeface, by introducing Bauhaus-like minimal forms to the characters. The first version was completed back in 2002 and introduced one year later in Parachute’s 3rd catalog, under the name PF Traffic. Some time later it was decided to make a few improvements but the project was so carried away that the new typeface which emerged needed urgently a new name. Beau Sans Pro is a modern sans-serif family of 16 fonts which includes true-italics. Just like all other Parachute fonts, it covers a broad range of languages by incorporating 3 major scripts i.e. Latin, Greek and Cyrillic in one font. An Art Deco “thick and thin” novelty type design based on the hexagon shape was found within the pages of “La Lettre Dans le Decor & La Publicite Modernes” - a 1930s-era French alphabet collection. The title somewhat translates to “The Letter in Modern Decor and Advertising”). Named Oh Hex JNL, it is now available in both regular and oblique versions.

Vikings or Norses are Scandinavian pirate and merchant tribes. Actually, "Viking" or "Nors" is not a nation name; It is the name given to Dans, Norwegians, Swedes and other Scandinavians regardless of who they are. Anca typeface started as a comission work for Fest Anca, an international animation festival. They needed something to complement the corporate identity of the festival. Inspiration came from a sketch made by my friend long time ago, which had a tremendous potential. As letters were digitized and the basic alphabet was completed, a very practical and universal typeface resulted. The whole type family has a playful and simple look with rounded stroke endings as well as long ascenders. The construction skeleton uses the minimum number of strokes and as a consequence, some original letter shapes (Q, w, j, &, A, §) were produced. Despite the fact that most letter shapes are based on geometry, some strokes are intentionally irregular, which creates a very natural feeling. Anca is appropriate for setting short paragraphs, headings and big inscriptions.
