Shàngó is CastleType’s beautifully-rendered interpretation of Professor F.H.E. Schneidler's elegant titling typeface released in 1936 with the name 'Schneidler-Mediaeval mit Initialen'. This latter design is usually referred to as Schneidler Initials. Although early on Medium and Bold weights were added to the somewhat delicate design of Shàngó, it seemed there were other possibilities that might be useful for display use. So, for the last couple of years I have been working on and off on a monoline version of Shàngó. This new design maintains the classic letterforms of the original, but its relatively even strokes gives it a more solid appearance, making it useful where a more modern, masculine look is needed. This new family is called Shango Gothic and is available in four weights: Regular, Medium, Bold, and Extra Bold. Shàngó Gothic is a member of the extended Shàngó family (Classic, Chiseled, Sans, Gothic).

Opal Pro is a text family designed by Hannes von Döhren in 2008. It gives every text a noble character. The typeface has long ascenders that clearly rise above the capital letters and a low x-height. Opal’s letters sport inktraps at stroke junctions, which on one hand create a cutout feeling and on the other hand strengthens the image in larger point sizes. CA Saygon was originally conceived for a large corporate design project, but as this was never implemented, the way was free to make a public font. Yana Klink is an illustrator at Art. Lebedev Studio, whose works are often accompanied by lines of fancy text written in her own recognizable manner with long strokes and “beauty spots.” Once we needed to apply that style to a number of pieces of text, we decided to design a decorative script called Klinkopis. It comes in one weight (regular). Text set in Klinkopis looks best when arranged in waves, like the original. It is recommended to use large sizes—from 24 pt and up—and have no more than just a couple of lines that become an essential part of the artwork. Klinkopis is designed to use OpenType Contextual Alternates. To beautify your project even further, some characters can be manually replaced with their more intricate or plainer variations depending on the neighboring letters. Klinkopis features long descenders and ascenders, which requires large leading to avoid congestion.

ITC Flora is the work of Dutch designer Gerard Unger, and is named for his daughter. He started by doing calligraphy experiments with felt-tip and ballpoint pens, and developed these drawings into a formalized script typeface. Swiss typographer Max Caflisch advised the Dr.-Ing Rudolf Hell GmbH technology firm to add a new round-nibbed script face to their Digiset type library, and in 1984, Flora was released by Hell. Tramuntana 1 Pro was inspired by the late Renaissance and Mannerist spirit and it was designed by Ricardo Santos during 2009 for his Master in Advanced Typography (Eina-Barcelona). This project was also inspired by Robert Granjon, Garamond and Sabon typefaces. The name tramuntana (Tramontane) is the Catalonian word for the cold wind that comes from the Pyrenees mountains and goes as far as the Balearic Islands. The font comes in two styles: Regular and Oblique. The Regular style is perfect for headlines and titles, while the Oblique style adds a touch of elegance. Near the end of his life, legendary type designer Eric Gill lived in Jerusalem, and became interested in the typesetting of the Hebrew alphabet and the challenges it entailed. He designed his own Hebrew font which has not (to my knowledge) been digitized before. It is sometimes held up as an example of how not to do a Hebrew font: Gill introduced strange serifs and shapes that were jarring to readers used to more traditional fonts. But it is quite readable, and does start to grow on you after a while; extended text in Gill Hebrew is possible. I've added a set of alternate digits that are based on the shapes of the letters (Gill's digits are pretty standard text figures). I've also made some of the Unicode Hebrew symbols that Gill didn't (e.g. New Sheqel Sign, Alef-Lamed ligature, etc.) and also included vowel-points.

The Metalista font was created as a sign of undying admiration for the persistence of heavy metal culture. The angled font of almost fixed width proportions combines capitals with small letters for more variety and better definition of individual letters. Stressing the horizontal strokes subdued the historical Gothic character and emphasized a more modern signature, which is far different from the majority of current attempts at a modern adaptation of Fraktur fonts. The Core Sans E family is part of the Core Sans series, such as Core Sans N, Core Sans M, Core Sans A, Core Sans G and Core Sans D. This is a modernized, grotesque font family with horizontal terminals, low-stroke contrast, enclosed apertures and little-line-width variation. Its tall x-height makes the text legible; and the spaces between individual letter forms are precisely adjusted to create the perfect typesetting. The Core Sans E family consists of 9 weights, from Thin to Black with italics. Fondue: an eclectic-flavoured contemporary typeface. Designed by Jorge Alberto Martínez and Latinotype Team. Fondue is a type family of eclectic shapes, inspired by Art Deco designs, in particular, the lettering used by the Mexican cartoonist Ernesto “El Chango” Cabral on almost the entire publication Revista de Revistas ("Magazine of Magazines"). Far from being a copy, Fondue expects to be an adaptation of the thinking of that time to be used in contemporary context. Fondue has a cursive ductus, wide horizontal proportion and large x-height. Its friendly consistent rhythm makes it ideal for medium-sized text, headlines, branding, and so on. The family comes in 6 weights, from Thin, which reminds of the cartoonist’s loose strokes, to Ultra Bold, the version with powerful and unique voice. Fondue has a set of 496 characters that support 207 different languages.. OpenType features include standard and discretionary ligatures as well as stylistic alternates.

This late 19th century design conjures up early 20th century Dutch DeStijl lettering with a mostly strict adherence to right angles and minimal stroke modulation. Geometric began its life as a metal typeface from the Central Type Foundry, circa 1884. Soon after, this design was officially licensed to Morgans & Wilcox and was shown in their 1890 catalog in Regular, Light and Condensed Light variations. After acquiring Morgans & Wilcox, Hamilton Manufacturing offered Geometric Light Face Condensed as their own No 3020 and the Geometric Light Face as No 3021. HWT Geometric has been expanded digitally to include a Regular Condensed version. A heavier wood type specimen was found from an unknown manufacturer and digitized as it was found, resulting in the HWT Geometric Shopworn and Shopworn Inked variations. These digital versions all include a full Western and Central European character set of over 380 glyphs.
