Open Range is a new font design based on an old classics sans serif font from the 1800s. Some may say that this font looks like a western version of the more modern Benguiat but samples of lettering from the 1800s show a similar design to Benguiat and may have been the inspiration for that font.

Norma was my second sans serif. You can find a few details in common with Dialog, but the graphic impression of Norma is totally different.Every typeface has some characters that are the favourites. In Norma I simply love the lowercase roman a. Don't you, too, think that it is perfection itself? Norma was released in 1994.

Carinthia is derived from the style of Roman calligraphy known as Rustica, but with some features of Roman uncial added to form a complete upper and lower case character set, including variant upper case characters with decorative spurs. The result is a rather vertical, but quite stylish font which has an antique calligraphic look and good readability.

FreeDee is a re-draw of some experimental lettering first drawn during A-Level (just after high-school) art and design studies. It was originally purely self initiated, and one of the first things I used Illustrator to draw. This version takes the original handful of letters and extrapolates a full alphabet with basic latin accents.

One Ton is a really chunky stencil face that sticks to some strict rules, giving it a distinctively industrial, angular look. Abelia is a rough(ish), cursive, handwritten font. It was made with an almost dried up felt tip pen, so as to create some roughness in the edges. It comes with a generous amount of diacritics. For those who are just dying to know: Abelia is a honeysuckle-like flowering shrub, native to Eastern Asia and Mexico.

I was listening to some old Smashing Pumpkins albums when I created this font. The name comes from a song called *** You (An Ode To No One). Runaround Kid is a hand painted typeface. I used Chinese ink and a cheap Chinese brush to create the inky look. Comes with double-letter ligatures and a whole bunch of diacritics.

Creata is a sans serif typeface with a wide range of application. The font family contains 14 weights (7 straight with match italics). The overall design is neutral but some letters has pretty unusual appearance (for example @, &). Creata has its own personality, its own integrity and a unique voice. Helmut Matheis originally designed Slogan for the Ludwig and Mayer type foundry in Frankfurt, Germany. Slogan is an informal script of medium weight, with some variation in color. Its caps are flowing and the lowercase letters are close fitting. A lighter, more upright companion was designed by Helmut Matheis as well; its design is named Charme.

Bouclé.2 – an upgraded edition of Bouclé fonts (2009), with careful refinements to glyph shapes and extension of glyph amounts, which enabled support of more Latin languages. New edition consists of eight styles: Light, Regular, Bold weights for plain and round fonts respectably, plus Regular and Light italics. Typeface is released in OpenType format with some OpenType features.

Folsom JNL is one of the many stencil fonts Jeff Levine has recreated from original sources. This particular design was modeled from a kit made by the Meyercord Company of Chicago. In the original, some of the letters were solid rather than stencil forms, but Jeff gave all of the letters the traditional treatment for continuity.

This snappy little number was inspired by a PLINC typeface by Murray Fuchs called Erwin, which has been redrawn and improved for the digital age. Use Contextual Alternates to "bounce" the text, and Discretionary Ligatures to enable some interlocking letter combinations. Gaia is the first dingbat series made by Ricardo Esteves Gomes. Each glyph in this font was designed to be used as single forms or as graphic pattens. A set of rubber stamp letters, figures and punctuation used for marking electrical or communications equipment [and made in Japan] is the basis for this serif typeface. Varying widths and some letters in more of a block style than rounded are typical of Japanese packaging text from the 1950s and 1960s. Available in regular and oblique styles.

Because of the geometric basis of its forms, Memphis is often thought of as a font for technical fields, making a rational, purposeful impression. This emphasis on objectivity is well-suited to technical texts, but Memphis is appropriate for any text which should exhibit a clear, neutral character. Some weights are available as soft rounded versions.

Flip Spatters is a very detailed font. It looks like blotches/ink spatters or graffity. It has a lot of characters (~215) and the spatters are different and detailed. But unlike some other 'crazy' fonts, Flip Spatters even looks brilliant using a font size starting from 9pt. So you can use it for text and graphic utilization.

Prospect Park JNL was inspired by inline lettering found on some vintage sheet music from the Art Deco era entitled "By My Side". The font's namesake is located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, NY. Prospect Park is famous for its zoo as well as its tree lined paths, historic carousel and the expansive park area.

While working on a font based on Spencerian Script (a popular late 19th century handwriting style) we did some experimenting with original designs which created the general feel of Spencerian and brought to mind the spidery handwriting of old ladies and Dickensian clerks. The result was Arakne, a spidery script font with a really striking look.

Recently I have been watching some re-runs of Dexter. In season 1, Debra has a rough morning and complains she cannot make it through the day without eating a breakfast burrito. The name stuck, a font was born and the result is Breakfast Burrito font. It is a tall, all caps typeface with a little twist.

We created this family in an attempt to submit a Plantin's font pattern overview. So it is not a real historical font, but a "looking like". We have added the special East European diacritics (Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Croatian, Slovak, Slovenian, Sorbian ) and some other features. Our Italic style is resulting from a choice through the numerous possibilities.
