Tinteretto is a very beautiful, decorative Art-d�co font which is ideal for ad design about fine arts events and the world of arts and crafts as well as in restaurants, bars and for food packaging. Tintoretto harmonizes well with serif and sans serif fonts created at the beginning of the last century. It contains character sets for West and Central European as well as for Romania and Turkey. When Unger started his work on Tintoretto, he had the splendid idea of adding a Fill version to the original 3D characters. Combining both fonts make it even stronger and more beautiful. How to combine both fonts in order to achieve a color fill effect: Type your word or phrase and do not make any changes to the spacing or kerning. Duplicate or copy the original and change it to the Fill version (font change). Apply a color to the copy and position it exactly behind the original. See and love the result.

I was in a bit of a gloomy mood just before I created this font. I had no inspiration whatsoever (which always affects me in a bad way). I was trying to create a font using broken satay skewers, as using those gives the letters a unique look. I broke about 25 skewers and they all broke ‘the wrong way’. Yes, it’s pathetic, I know, but that’s how it is. I decided to go to the gym and do a little workout, hoping my dark mood would pass. When I came back, I broke one more skewer and lo and behold, it broke exactly the right way! I made this font in one go, using that fantastic skewer and lots of Chinese ink. Darkness Rising comes with all the diacritics you’ll need, plus double letter ligatures and some cool underlined alternates.

I was playing around with an old brush I found in our kitchen: it had fallen under the stove and it had probably been hiding there for quite some time! I dusted it off, got my Chinese ink and set to work. The result is a scary-ish font. Mortal Coil comes with discretionary ligatures for double lower case letter combinations.

Inspired by an image of the chamfered block lettering of a semi-faded “ghost sign” for the Thomas Drug Co. in Thomas, Oklahoma, Local Druggist JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions. “Ghost Signs” are the visible remnants of hand-painted signs on buildings where the original business had long closed or moved, yet the lettering had survived the passing years.

Designed by Jim Ford, each Posterama family contains 7 weights from Thin to Ultra Black, in 9 distinct families. What makes Posterama so unique and versatile are the eight alternative display families. By making use of a collection of alternative glyphs, Posterama sets an evocative flavor to visualize an entire century of futuristic reference points from art, architecture, poster design and science fiction into one family. Posterama Text is the base family. It has the most robust character set including upper and lowercase glyphs and pan-European language support (including Greek and Cyrillic). Note: all the other Posterama variants described below do not have lowercase letters or Greek and Cyrillic support. Posterama 1901 recalls the decoratively geometric style of Art Nouveau from the turn of the 20th century. Letterforms such as the slender, snaking ‘S’, the high-waisted ‘E’ and the underlined ‘O’ revive the spirit of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the designers of the Viennese Secession. The straight-sided, roundheaded ‘A’ adds a flavor of 1919 – this style of ‘A’ can still be seen in the Braun logo, designed in 1934. Posterama 1927 captures the year of Metropolis, The Jazz Singer and Paul Renner’s pioneering, geometric Futura typeface from 1927, which had a profound influence on design in the US and Europe. Posterama 1933 – With its low-waisted, sinuous designs, the Posterama 1933 typeface family echoes lettering of the Art Deco period, which in turn had its roots in Art Nouveau, the key influence on Posterama 1901. The two fonts make a great team and can be used interchangeably. Posterama 1945 features a few Cyrillic characters to conjure up an era when Russian art and political posters made their mark in cold war propaganda, espionage and also giant aliens and monsters. Posterama 1984 takes its typographic influences from George Orwell’s classic novel, publicity for the dystopian action and sci-fi movies (Blade Runner, Videodrome and Terminator) and games like Space Invaders and Pac-Man that made an impact at that time. Posterama 2001 was inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s science fiction masterpiece, which made extensive use of the Futura typeface. Posterama 2001 finds its cosmic orbit with its nosecone-style ‘A’ from NASA’s much-missed ‘worm’ logotype. There’s an echo, too, in Bauhaus designs from as early as 1920, whose minimalist, geometric lettering also featured a crossbar-less ‘A’.

Zoran Kostik began designing the Just Square font family in 1999, based on a logo that his son, an art student, had designed. The design project grew until Kostic had designed eight weights, for both the Latin and the Cyrillic writing systems. Just Square is a very geometric and constricted face best used in experimental designs (i.e., logos, web sites, flyers, and expressive headlines).

1920s-era sheet music for "Tangos Pour Manon" from Brussels, Belgium had the title hand lettered in an unusual style. The alphabet was square, had serifs and the thick-and-thin stroke weights that were more popular in the upcoming Art Deco years of the 1930s and 1940s. This became the working model for Torrid Tango JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

They say the Nile has many secrets and she was the most sacred of them all. Isis. I met her in a small tavern outside of Edfu, hidden like a jewel between Luxor and Aswan. I had journeyed to Egypt to study the mating habits of homosexual hippos. I had no idea it was the journey that would teach me the true nature of love.

This display font has an oriental character reminiscent of brush stroke calligraphy and all things Japanese. My original working title for this font was ‘Spanner’, because the lower case ‘c’, with which the design began, looked rather like the head of a spanner. I originally had in mind something more mechanical, but as it evolved and developed the font itself obviously had other ideas!

I have actually never had a sherbet. When I made this font family, I wish I had one, as it was a whopping 38 degrees (Celsius, not Fahrenheit…) outside. Raspberry Sherbet is a cute little font family, consisting of a rounded fat kids font and an inline version. Comes with all the bells & whistles, plus a super duper cooling effect when you use it!

As as a computer programmer, it is my job to stare at screens of text all day. As soon as I learned the mechanics of font design, I boldly set out to design a typeface from my own handwriting that I could use to make my life easier. First, it had to have very distinctive numerals (trust me, it can be easy to mistake an 8 for a 3 in code), it had to have huge punctuation characters (even Perl code like '[lN*1lK[d2%Sa2/d0' looks good in Debug), and it had to be a bit friendlier than Courier (so that I don't give up hope when my code won't compile). I had so much fun designing it that I decided to give it strange lower-case 'i's and 'm's as a bonus. I also spent far too much time hinting it so that it would look as nice as possible at low resolutions.
