When designing a typeface, one has to be conscious of superfluous details. Although I am always tempted to add little personal touches, experience taught me that the phrase -less is more- is totally true. In Model, the letters (like models do) participated of a contest: An event in which models engage in competition against each other, often for a prize or similar incentive. The prize was staying in the font! yay! Tall, delicate, refined, the right amount of elegancy: These were some of the aspects to be chosen. Typographically speaking, these things were achieved thanks to a tall x-height (which leaded the font to be somehow condensed), a subtle contrast between thicks and thins, and just the right amount of decorative swirls. The result is a nice script that can be used in magazines, invitations, posters, book-covers and works very well when used over photographs. Get Model and let it be the star of the catwalk. STYLES Model Pro and Model Small Pro are the most complete styles of the font. Both have all the ligatures and decorative glyphs seen in posters above (OT programmed). Model Std One, Std Two and Std Three are reduced versions of Pro. This means they have less glyphs inside. TIP If you are planning to print the font in small sizes, it’s highly recommended to purchase Model Small Pro. Its thins are thicker so they will be better printed.

A storm has been brewing. It’s Hurricane. A complete redesign of a popular style. New flair and excitement abounds with this fast moving spirited brush script. This updated version of Hurricane was created with high end advertising in mind but can also be used for designs outside of commercial uses— greeting cards and social expression, or even scrap-booking projects. There are three regular styles and a PRO version of the script styles, plus a graphics font to add an extra breeze to your work. Hurricane Regular is straight forward with the more Roman capital forms. The Script version swaps the caps out for the more flourished uppercase. Argentinian type designer Dario Muhafara created this script FontFont between 2003 and 2009. The family contains 4 weights and is ideally suited for advertising and packaging, festive occasions, film and tv, poster and billboards as well as software and gaming. FF Jackie provides advanced typographical support with features such as swashes, ligatures, alternate characters, case-sensitive forms, and stylistic alternates. It comes with proportional lining figures.

Shiva font family is a very narrow family for text and titling. Even though shiva has very thin strokes, the letterforms give a strong, impactful and dignified image. a, e, f, g & y in Roman and g & y Italic have their alternate glyphs that can be used with OpenType salt feature.

Présence is a modern sans serif with a light stroke contrast. The capitals are a bit narrow for a titling use which makes them space-economical without lack of legibility. The lower cases have a normal width for a fluid reading. Its wide range of weights allows it many uses.

Naroid Initials JNL is one of the most ultra-compressed sets of initials available in digital type. These twenty-six initials are so narrow that a test print with all of the letters at 2-1/2 inches in height took up no more than about 5 inches in width!

Inspired by Typoart’s Minima, Tablica which comes in three styles - Regular, Italic, Bold - fills ideally narrow columns, charts and tables. Since all numerals are monospaced, you can sum up all numbers of a table. Though this is a condensed sans serif family, it offers a high legibility even in small degrees.
