Die Brücke was a group of German expressionists which formed in Dresden in 1905. Members of the group include Erich Heckel, Fritz Bleyl, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. Much of the group's work was influenced by primitivism and medieval woodblock printing. Die Bruecke font was based on a printed invitation for an art exhibition from 1906. Although the font is all caps, upper and lower case glyphs differ and can be interchanged. Of course Die Bruecke comes with extensive language support.

Karl Georg Hoefer’s Sho first appeared in 1992 with Linotype-Hell. The font is a part of the package Calligraphy for Print, which also contains Ruling Script and Wiesbaden Swing. The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum staff is honored to partner with New York-based graphic designer Louise Fili on her first font release project. The new font, “Mardell,” is named for Hamilton retiree and wood type cutter Mardell Doubek. This is the fourth font to be cut for the museum as part of the Wood Type Legacy Project. Although wood types were at their peak of use during the letterpress era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, there is a growing revival movement of "boutique" print shops who have embraced the look and texture of this form of printing. More modern in design that many of its counterparts, Pleasantwood JNL is still a nice addition to the wood type library re-drawn digitally by Jeff Levine Fonts.

ITC Riptide is a work of British designer Timothy Donaldson. Abrupt changes in stroke, pointed stroke ends and changing slant direction characterize this very experimental alphabet. The temperamental figures are irrepressible and aggressive, the forms seem to have been chosen randomly, and these traits lend the font its informality and spontaneity. Huxley Cyrillic is based on our Huxley Amore Bold, retaining all the Western and Central European characters of the latter, while adding upper and lower case Cyrillic characters. Huxley Cyrillic, like Huxley Amore, is visually simple and direct and yet sophisticated and unexpected. Those are the qualities that give it such freshness in so many applications. This font is intended for display use. It is highly condensed and is therefore difficult to read below 18 points. It works well at 36 points, but really works best at 48 points and larger. Huxley Cyrillic has 499 glyphs. I think we should have made at least one more!

In the year 1528 Pierre Attaignant led a revolution in music printing. His method of once-press moveable type, greatly simplifying the original 3 impression process developed by Petrucci, remained in use till near the end of the 17th century. The method could only realize one line of music per staff, and the introduction of barlines as a common means of aligning multiple staves brought this method to a close after nearly two centuries of use. This font is meant to allow the printing of music using that method with the notation of that era. It is largely based on an exemplar printed by Snodham of London.

The 1908 art exhibition in Vienna (Kunstschau 1908) featured works by Josef Hoffmann, Cark Otto Czeschka and Gustav Klimt, who showcased his famous painting 'The Kiss'. Kunstschau font was modeled on a stamp, designed by Austrian artist Bertold Löffler, for the 1908 exhibition. Kunstschau is a loose, handwritten font which comes with a distinct all caps upper and lower case, plus an extensive language support.

Framboisier means ‘Rasberry Bush’ in French. Even though it’s early spring, I already spotted raspberries at the greengrocers, so I figured a nice raspberry-related name would suit this font just fine. Framboisier is a hand painted script font.
