Linotype Schnitz is part of the Take Type Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. Designed by the Finnish artist Osmo Niemi, the characters seem to contain no round forms at all. Linotype Schnitz looks as though it were chiseled and has an angular, almost brittle feel. The restless and lively appearance makes Linotype Schnitz particular well-suited to headlines and shorter texts with point sizes of 12 and larger.

It is a modular, geometric typeface with subtle rounded angles that provides a soft, pleasant appearance. It has been conceived to be primarily a display typeface, but given its clarity it can also be used for composing short and intermediate length texts. Argonautica is based on a relict of the future that was left on earth by time-travelling extra-terrestrials. In 1947, an UFO crashed in the New Mexico desert. There were unknown glyphs found on the spaceship which couldn�t be deciphered to date. Based on one of the unknown glyphs, Gabriele Lindemann developed a complete alphabet readable for human beings. Argonautica is particularly suited for colored typography and can be read much better with growing distance.

Salacious is my soft/rough all-caps font, inspired by both comics and grafitti. The weight and width of the letters varies a bit. Not in a disturbing way, but more in a lively and organic way. I've added 5 (slightly) different versions of each letter (which automatically cycles as you type!) The letter shapes are a bit rough, due to the fact that they are handmade, and all corners are rounded, which gives a nice soft look!

The Face2Face (F2F) series was inspired by the techno sound of the mid-1990s, personal computers and new font creation software. For years, Sibylle Schlaich and her friends formed a unique type design collective, which churned out a substantial amount of fresh, new fonts, none of which complied with the traditional rules of typography. Many of these typefaces were used to create layouts for the leading German techno magazine of the 1990s, Frontpage. Schlaich and her fellows would even set in type at 6 points, in order to make it nearly unreadable. It was a pleasure for the kids to read and decrypt these messages! Once I had a young, very eager and interested designer in my employ. We got into talking about where our letterforms come from and the habits in perception we are used to. He did not quite believe me. So I said, let's try to design a typeface where everything is just the opposite of what we are used to. We really had a hard time, our habits crept up on us all the time. But after a couple of weeks we finally finished this typeface and wanted to call it crazytype, but my young apprentice ­ who did most of the manual labor ­ said Contype sounded crazier. The Azbuka™ typeface family has its roots in a fairly pedestrian source. “The idea came in part from an old sign in London that read ‘SPRINKLER STOP VALVE’,” says Dave Farey, designer of the typeface. Like all good sign spotters, Farey took a photograph of the sign and filed it away for possible use in a lettering or typeface design project. In Prague a number of years later, the street signs reminded Farey of the London signage - and his camera came out again. Comparing the two back in his studio, he realized that the signs from London and Prague were not as similar as he initially thought. However, they were enough alike to serve as the foundation for a no-frills, 21st century sans serif typeface family. “I wanted to draw a wide range of weights, italic and condensed designs all in one go,” recalls Farey, “rather than add on to the family later.” His goal was to create a family that could be used for text and display copy, with sufficient weights to provide a broad typographic palette. Indeed, the completed design, created in collaboration with fellow type designer Richard Dawson, consists of twenty typefaces in eight weights ranging from extra light to extra black. The five mid-range designs have complementary italics. Seven condensed designs round out the family. Azbuka’s lighter weights perform remarkably well in blocks of text composition. “They’re clean and legible - and perhaps a little boring,” says Farey, “but they are perfect for copy with a down-to-earth, yet contemporary flavor.” The heavier weights are equally well suited for a variety of display uses. The designs are authoritative but not overbearing and will readily make a strong statement without calling attention to themselves. The condensed weights of Azbuka are ideal for those instances where you have a lot to say - and not much room to say it. The name Azbuka? Introducing Rotten Banquet, our first victorian display font. This font inspired by 1800s typography design with some modern touch at it. We made this font without too much swashy efefct on the letterform. Just gave it two bold ripple floral effect at the tail is enough. So this font will more readable and not too complicated thus you could make any kind of projects with this font. In the preview we give you a sample ideas. We made it with one style design for the continuity but of course you could make your own style display for your own project purposes. This font contained with 370+ total glyphs. Each uppercase and lowercase have their own stylistic alternate at least one.

Cinematica was specially designed for film credits in communication pieces. Due to its space saving qualities, geometric elegance of its shapes, and eight wights; it allows a wide range of uses. Its geometry makes Cinematica able to harmonize and unify any text, incorporating the necessary signs for composition in English, Spanish, Italian, French, German and Portuguese. The Regular weight also incorporates statements that usually appear in film credits (such as "directed by", "produced by", etc.) that have been programmed as predetermined ligatures and can be accessed by typing a short sequence of signs to avoid typing the full phrase. Weaving is a family in which the letters fit together so that wavy lines separate them both horizontally and vertically. It creates this effect by alternating letters on upper-case keys with those on lower-case letters and this alternating is done automatically in applications that support the OpenType feature of contextual alternatives (calt). (The upper-case can be used alone but it unlikely that the lower-case characters could be used by themselves.) The family is a thinner and condensed version of the typeface Woven, but in condensing it, the tessellation properties that a were in Woven are lost. It is a decorative display face but because there are few typefaces similar to it, it is hard to predict what uses it may have. Be creative!

Cantiga is a monophonic song or melody, sometimes repetitive, often with unpretentious themes. In the same simplicity, this font family combines robustness with some very fine details, with 44 versions for various purposes. Choose thinner (or thicker) versions for titles, and intermediate versions (normal, medium, etc.) to small sizes. Explore the condensed versions when you need to save space. Use the light versions for special cases in huge sizes. Cantiga intended to be your new "Swiss army knife" sans typeface. The Cantiga family consists of 2 widths (normal and condensed) with 11 weights each, plus their respective italic versions. The fonts are available in OpenType PS format and have extended character set to support CE, Baltic, Turkish as well as Western European languages.

Introducing our new modern signature font "Agatha Bergman". We would say that "Agatha Bergman" is a result of our latest experiment since a few new things have been done: "Agatha Bergman" is a voguish sophisticated signature-style script with three different uppercase alternatives for each letter and a unique short swash for each lowercase letter. We usually used to make long and wavy swashes, however, that's not the case this time. Also, the stylistic alternates were coded as both ligatures and swashes so that turning on the “Standard ligatures” was enough to access them. The font includes 152 fancy standard ligatures and 6 discretionary ligatures, and while working on them we tried to consider those letter combinations that are often met in surnames, e.g. -ovsky.

Breaking the cycle of homelessness We are partnered with The House of St. Barnabas, a private members club in Soho Square, whose work as a not for profit charity aims to break the cycle of homelessness in London. Each purchase (of the family pack) comes with a one month membership to The House and 100% of the proceeds from sales of fonts go directly to the charity to help their essential work. This unique collection of 7 typefaces is based on the disappearing signs of Soho, at risk of being lost forever due to the ever changing landscape of the area. By re-imaging the signage as complete fonts, we have rescued this rich visual history from the streets and present the typefaces into a contemporary context for a bright optimistic future. FS Berwick Thanks to its humble tiled origins, this Egyptian serif type maintains a uniform character width, creating the irregular letter proportions found in the final alphabet. Broad-shouldered, the bracketed serifs firmly ground the font, whilst its extreme hairlines become a necessity due to the uniform width. Of note is the upside down ‘S’, to be found on the original sign on Berwick Street. Perhaps due to its ceramic origins, there is a surprising ‘slippiness’ to its final appearance. FS Cattle Cattle & Son is best described as a wide, but not overly extended, grotesque-style sans serif, showing a uniform width and carrying a robust strength to its form. Whilst lightly functional overall, the purposeful diagonal legs of the ‘K’, ‘R’ and the tail of the ‘Q’ add an urgency to its appearance. The reduced size of the ampersand gives away Cattle & Son’s hand-painted origins, and the oblique compacted ‘LTD’ found on the original sign is also included in the final set. This beautiful sign is tucked away under an arch in Portland Mews, sheltering from the weather. Perhaps this is why it has lasted so long. FS Century This somewhat elongated set of Roman capitals was originally rendered in paint circa 1940, but its roots trace back to the Trajan Column in Rome. Witness the slightly unbalanced ‘W’ and the painter’s hand is revealed. Century’s flared serif style is extremely short, sharp and bracketed. The ‘M’ is splayed and has no top serifs. Century has a uniform appearance of width, probably due to its sign-written origins. Yet is elegant, classic and exudes sophistication. FS Charity A true Tuscan letterform, the original is located on The House of St. Barnabas in ceramic tiles and was revealed in all its broken glory in 2014. FS Charity retains the option of using these incorrect characters (try typing lowercase in the test drive above and compare with the more uniform uppercase characters). FS Charity features fishtailed terminals on its strokes, a curious branched ‘T’ and the ‘S’ displays tear-drop ends to its serifs. Almost uniform in width, the ‘A’, ‘M’ and ‘W’ are the widest characters in this set. FS Marlborough The elongated Marlborough features diagonal terminals to some characters and numerals. Also retained is the space-saving contracted ‘T’ glyph from the original sign, while the ‘R’ features a distinctive wedge-shaped leg. Highly individual in this form, similar signage appears around Soho, but featuring a variety of widths in their design. FS Portland The sister type to Cattle & Son, Portland is oblique rather than italic. The serifs are not overly long, yet still enhance its rather rigid cap height and baseline appearance. Its ‘A’ has a top serif, the ‘M’ is square and the ‘G’ foregoes any spur. Particularly delightful is the open ampersand. Numerals align to encourage the horizontal flavour of the oblique style. Overall, Portland is both confident and graceful. FS St James A lineal Continental style, St James also displays a true sense of ‘Londoness’ in its titling form, perhaps influenced by early Underground signage. Irregular letterforms display a continental flavour, particularly evident in its Deco style ‘W’, ampersand and numerals. The rather high cross bar in the ‘A’ is also reflected in the raised middle strokes of the ‘M’. Noteworthy are the distinctive unions found on all of the characters and the additional small caps. The original lettering is still located on Greek St.

Gibon draws inspiration from the fascinating comic book universe, inhabited not only by many legendary superheroes, monsters and superbadass antiheroes, but also by its own legendary typefaces. Every cartoonist and hand letterer needs a pencil, a T-square and on and on. For digital lettering, books Gibon is an option. This handy toolkit helps you easily letter your comic strips, but even if you have nothing to do with cartooning, this bundle can simply add some comic book feel to your design or make some noise with layered sound effects. The basic font for speech balloon inking is Gibon Lettering, while Gibon Bold and Heavy let you emphasize certain text. Gibon Bold is further developed as a multilayer type where different styles are designed to be overlaid on top of each other, letting you work with built-in shadows, 3D effects and outlines to create striking SFX. Gibon Balloons offers different types of layered speech balloons and a few halftone patterns. The OpenType contextual alternate feature is set to automatically apply the random effect using two sets of glyphs. Traditionally, comic books are lettered in caps only, which explains why Gibon is an all caps font. To easily access alternate characters they are encoded as lowercase letters. For example, type the uppercase “I” to access the crossbar “I” and the lowercase “i” to access the crossbar-less “I”. Turn on stylistic set number one to use only crossbar-less “I”.
