On one hand, this font serves as a calm sans-serif, while on the other, it stands alone as a graphic system. Leksa is an oldstyle, even a bit old-fashioned text family in 12 faces, including six upright and six italic ones, from Light to Black, with both oldstyle and tabular digits and true small caps. The typeface works best in the books of classical style, and looks good in both small and large point sizes. One of the main features of the typeface is its professionally-designed Cyrillic which (together with sans-serif companion Leksa Sans) was awarded for excellence in type design at Modern Cyrillic competition in Superfamilies category.

Quintet is a narrow, stylized sans serif font made up of thin, looping lines. This font tries to walk the line between retro and modern and to incorporate some hand drawn imperfections without being too obvious about it. I kicked off designing without any particular inspiration in mind but, as time went on, started associating it in my head with an old-timey, swingy jazz aesthetic. So hopefully it captures the spirit of the Jeeves and Wooster throwback theme song and opening credits, the music of Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt (who the name is a nod to), and countless album covers from that era.

Barbieri is a casual sans type family, based on a German lettering style from the 1960s. The original hand-drawn alphabet was used in a rather peculiar edition of Der Barbier von Bagdad, an opera composed by Peter Cornelius. Our efforts to identify the cover designer have been, so far, unsuccessful. As fans of informal typography and popular lettering styles, we thought these few thin letters deserved a re-incarnation as a complete type family. Andrés Torresi and Marta Sánchez Marco were in charge of the production work. Now Barbieri has 6 weights suitable for packaging, posters, and music covers. It resembles a certain 'Americana' spirit, though with a Germanic twist.

Earthpig is based on samples of poster lettering from classic club posters of the 1960s, from venues like the Fillmore in San Francisco and the Armadillo in Austin. Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic was a Serbian philologist and linguist who was the major reformer of the Serbian language. In addition to his linguistic reforms, Karadzic also contributed to folk literature, using peasant culture as the foundation. Because of his peasant upbringing, he was closely associated with the oral literature of the peasants, compiling it to use in his collection of folk songs, tales, and proverbs. He was well known abroad and familiar to Jacob Grimm, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and historian Leopold von Ranke. This typeface, based on his manuscripts, presents the perfect balance between casual handwriting and careful calligraphy. Chift is a quite narrow serif font for both body text and headlines in periodicals, where economy of space is needed. The type family consists of ten faces: five styles of low contrast for body text sizes and five styles of high contrast, including Hairline and Black, for display purposes. One of the main features of the typeface is its professionally-designed Cyrillic, which won one of the special prizes at Modern Cyrillic 2009 competition in Text category.

One good pun is worth a simple description… Nondescript JNL… 'Non' - not. 'de' - of, in Spanish. script - a cursive (handwritten) letter form. So… while nondescript generally means lacking any defining description, in this case it also means "not of a script"… which is precisely what a typeface such as this one is!

Some years ago I designed Chalfont as a sans face. All the characters have a top heavy look when viewed straight on, however, as most type is read at an angle with the top further away than the bottom, this top heavy look is diminished. Chalfont Roman, although re-drawn with some alterations, is still basically the same face but with a top left serif giving more emphasis to the top heavy characteristics. I have also added a set of non ranging numerals.

The hand-lettered title on a piece of sheet music for 1938's "Don't Be That Way" (as recorded by Benny Goodman) featured squared letters with rounded corners, slight variants in line thickness and interesting "overhangs". Most of the lettering on a piece of sheet music for a song from the 1921 George M. Cohan musical comedy entitled “The O’Brien Girl” was hand lettered in a playful, casual Art Nouveau design with rounded ends. The characters on that page took on a look reminiscent of cartoon or comic strip wording, and the result is a digital typeface named Cartoon Nouveau JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Ciribiribin is an Italian ballad composed by Alberto Pestalozza in 1898. Many versions with different sets of lyrics have been recorded over the years. The hand lettering on the sheet music for one such popular version of the song was comprised of bold characters with a "semi-serif" treatment; that is, characters with partial or no serifs on certain strokes of the letters. Ciribiribin JNL extends this unique design into a complete digital typeface. Available in both regular and oblique versions.

Since the subject of the song had a number of good times underneath the house, it's a fitting name for the font. The hand lettering for the original song sheet showed strong influence of the 1920s and the Art Nouveau style, and has hints of the popular metal type "Hobo" in its character shapes.
