A mediterranean style sanserif in 4 styles The original idea of Costa was to create a contemporary mediterranean typeface style. Costa is a synthesis of the purity, as found on Greek capitals, and softness, found in Renaissance scripts. First thing was the design concept that take its roots on the Chancery script. Such writing style appeared during Italian Renaissance. Later few typefaces have been developed from such cursive models. Today most serifed typeface italic take their roots on such triangular structure we can find on gylphs like the n, p, or d. The Costa capitals remains close to pure sanserif models when the lowercases features an ending serif on many letters like the a, n, d, etc. This ending serif being more like a minimal brush effect, creating a visual contrast and referencing the exoticness of the typeface. Knowing that the Costa typeface family began life in the 90s as a bespoke typeface for Costa Crociere, an Italian cruise company — it suddenly makes sense and explains well why Jean François Porchez focused so much on Italian Chancery mixed to a certain exotism. The curvy-pointed terminals of the Costa n can obviously get find on other glyphs, such as the ending of the e, c and some capitals. So, the sanserif looks more soft and appealing, without to be to pudgy or spineless. The general effect, when set for text, remains a sanserif, even not like Rotis Semiserif. Costa is definitly not a classical typeface, or serif typeface which convey past, tradition, historicism as Garamond does beautifully. Because of the Costa crocieres original needs, Costa typeface was designed to be appropriate for any uses. Anytime you’re looking for good mood, qualitative effects, informal tone, cool atmosphere without to be unconvential or blowzy, Costa will convey to your design the required chic and nice atmosphere, from large headlines sizes, brands, to small text sizes. It’s a legible typeface, never boring. A style without neutrality which doesn’t fit comfortably into any typeface classification! Does it proves the novelty of its design and guarantees as well as its originality? Its up to you to be convinced. Barcelona trip Originally not planned, this need appeared because of a trip to Barcelona at the time of the project, where Jean François was giving a lecture. He wanted to pay an homage to that invitation to create something special. So, he designed during his flight some variations of the Spanish Ch, following ideas developed by the Argentinian type designer Rubén Fontana for his typeface called Fontana ND (published by the Barcelona foundry Bauer). Corton was inspired by the traditional lettering on a gravestone in an English village. While that might sound a rather solemn beginning, Corton has wonderfully lively air, with distinctive lively serifs and beautifully swashed downstrokes. Eight faces are offered: regular and titular each in three weights plus regular condensed. Between them they are ideal signage and display faces, merging 'olde-worlde' charm and fun character, but remaining clear and legible.

The Collegeblock family is reminiscent of straight lined letter forms found on collegiate sweaters and in the sports world. Satsuma. It used to be only a Japanese orange, but now it's a typeface as well. A rather unusual typeface. Satsuma is rough around the edges, squarish and playful. It is handmade and comes with over 400 interlocking ligatures. If that ain't fun, I don't know what is! Of course, Satsuma comes with extensive language support AND accented ligatures! This rough-and-ready display face is based on El Greco Antique, released by the Fundición Richard Gans of Madrid in the 1930s. Distressed but not distressing, rough yet charming, ragged around the edges but curiously refined. Named after a village in Greece which is the ancestral home of the forebears of the Curtii. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Vintage sheet music for the song "Just Once for All Time" (from the United Artists release "Congress Dances") provided the bold sans that served as the model for Dance Number JNL. This 1932 film was the English language version of the German comedy "Der Kongrefl tanzt" The movie's plot is based around the Congress of Vienna. There, an Austrian commoner is mistakenly thought to be the Tsar of Russia.

Overskrift is headline in danish. My mind was set on making a font suitable for headlines, and that is exactly what this font is useful for - but, I found it suitable for many other things as well. I was thinking about packaging, posters, postcards and other things that needs a super legible handmade font! I have added 5 different versions of each letter, and they automatically cycle as you type!

This Deco delight is based on logotype lettering for Crosley Radios from the 1930s. By aLtErNaTiNg upper and lowercase letters (brackets and braces, too), you can maintain the flow of the lightning bolts through the letters. Additionally, inline hyphens can be found at the ASCII circumflex and ASCII tilde positions. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Suchow was developed from a hand lettered storybook title by Willy Pogany. It's designed to give the feel of the Far East, with character shapes reminiscent of oriental brush lettering. The look of the characters is typical of lettering often used around the turn of the century for oriental-themed advertising and decoration, but not seen very often in contemporary use. Willy small but fine is a typeface with a wink. This display font is based on existing piquant form from the immediate vicinity. It is sexy, if you have an eye for. But it also should not be taken too seriously, especially because it has a humorous slant. The font has its origins in an art project. With a nod to the Golden Age of children's stories, this delightful font will have many uses. 'Luceat' is the Latin for 'shine' and we arer sure you will agree that this is a shining example of the genre. Due to the modular nature of this design there may be a very slight lack of smoothness to the curves at extremely large point sizes (around 200 pt and above).

The origin of this family is the classic French-Belgian comics. The screams and onomatopoeia of these comics have so much personality that I needed to create a typeface family that would allow the designer to really replicate them. But this family has many more applications: packaging, logos, posters, signage, packaging, branding, etc. With its wide variety of glyphs you can make your sound effects, logos, etc. in most Latin languages.

Linotype Indus is part of the Take Type Library, which features winners of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contest from 1994 to 1997. Designed by P.H. Hashin from India, Indus finds its historical roots in inscriptions found on ancient Indian graves. Thus Indus has a unique look and is versatile in point sizes from middle to headline. The font combines well with sans serif and slab serif typefaces.

I just love biscotti; they’re one of my favourite cookies! I thought they were all rock hard and half-moon shaped, but I found out that there’s a ‘soft’ variety as well, mainly aimed at young children who may have trouble munching on the hard cookies. Soft Biscotti is a handmade, all caps font. It comes with extensive language support and a set of alternates for the lower case letters.

Asphaltica is a geometric sans serif font. This is a universal font that can be used for both headings and paragraphs, thanks to the customized kerning for bold style. The typeface includes uppercase multilingual letters, numbers and punctuation. I've found the font to be great for logos, titles and I enjoy using it with really wide spacing. The unusual mix of Art Deco lettering with a smattering of Art Nouveau characters found within Dance Partner JNL comes from a movie poster for the 1935 RKO picture "Roberta" starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The musical was based on the hit 1933 stage play that introduced the song "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes". The play itself was based on the Alice Duer Miller novel "Gowns by Roberta".
