At first glance, Typewriter Sans JNL seems to look like the pantograph lettering of an engraved sign or the rounded-end lettering from an architect's templates. The hand lettered title on the sheet music for "Gee, But I'd Like to Make You Happy" (from the 1930 MGM motion picture "Good News") presented a conundrum. Some of the lettering was a classic Art Deco "thick and thin" design while the others resembled comic book title lettering. Leaning toward the comic book style, the conflicting letters were revised and the finished result became Funny Business JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

Defect Scam could easily have been a name for a punk band. But it's not - it's the name of my stencil wannabe font. But, it was inspired by a combination of some punkband's LP cover and the vibes of that genre of music - but not overdoing it by making an obvious punk font! Visum means Visa in Dutch. The name was inspired by Dutch soccer club Vitesse's rather sad decision to leave Israeli player Dan Mori behind, after he was refused a UAE visa because of his nationality.
