Porker was an experiment in making a barely readable but very simple and very bold typeface with no curves. It is caps only with some of the letters on the lower-case keys giving alternate versions. Include are three variants, a tall version, a striped version, and a randomized version. The striped version can be placed in a layer above the regular version to give two-colored letters.

Notebook BH Black was inspired by the block lettering we used to draw on our school binders. Notebook is a unicase design, with the lowercase drawn to the cap height, and each "case" having a distinctly different flavor. The fun and seemingly unlimited combinations of the upper and lowercase forms make it difficult to stop typing innocuous phrases and, if you're mobile, can even make boring lectures tolerable!

Black Bamboo is a beautiful plant. My father in law, who recently passed away, loved it and had a prized specimen growing in his garden. This font was named in his honour. Big News! Tenez has been selected for the Tipos Latinos Biennial 2016 and Typographica’s Favorite Typefaces of 2015! Tenez is a Grand Slam display didone typeface from Plau. We designed it for a branding project, further developing the resulting logotype into a typeface we felt could solve many designers’ needs. Its origins are rooted in pointed nib calligraphy which can be seen in contemporary Didot and Bodoni inspired typefaces. But Tenez’s shapes are organic (these modern typefaces were originally cut by hand after all) – in fact that was the challenge we set from the start: to make a typeface as organic in construction as possible. This echoes some of late 19th century typefaces and advertising, yet we thought of it for contemporary uses. One of the several unique features of Tenez is its unusual Thin weight, in which the contrast between thin strokes and the black area left by the serifs makes for a typewriter-like personality. The italics provide a perfect counterpoint to the roman weights. Tenez was unapologetically conceived as a display typeface meant to be used large as in magazine openings, drop caps or everywhere there’s a need for elegant impact. The family includes support for almost all Latin languages available, figure sets for almost every conceivable occasion (tables, text, you name it), alternates for the quirky beautiful R (sometimes simpler is better, but not always!) and Q (with a nice big tail for that article opener). Tenez pairs really well with our no-frills sans-serif Motiva Sans and our cute vertical connected script Primot.

ITC Photoplay is another gem from Nick Curtis. Unearthed from the 1927 edition of Samuel Welo's Studio Handbook for Artists and Advertisers, the design's original suggested use was for title and caption cards for silent movies. A monoweight design that bridges the gap between turn-of-the-century decorative type and Art Deco, ITC Photoplay is both casual and stylish. And, yes, the cap S" is supposed to look that that. To expand this already handy typeface's versatility, a Black weight has been added to the original design. Curtis has also created an array of alternate characters, a couple of conjunctions, and a handful of "bishop's fingers" to help make your point. ITC Photoplay is eminently suitable for all those occasions when you need to say, "Unhand that fair damsel, you dastardly cad!", and really mean it."

Waypointer is a font of arrows. These can be used to indicate direction or emphasis in documents, signage, or websites. The arrow sizes match the standard cap height of most fonts making it simple to use within text. The arrows are accessed with the standard keyboard keys. Make your own arrow of any length with the 1 to 9 keys. Use uppercase (A to Z) and lowercase (a to z) for pre-made arrows that point right, left, up, or down. Those who use OpenType will find useful features, such as stylistic sets for changing arrow directions in 360 degree angles and stylistic alternates for quick changes between pointing right and left. Coal Brush is a bit of a misleading name. It looks as though it was made with a brush, but it was, in fact, made with a almost dried out old marker pen. But a font named ‘dried out old marker pen’ doesn’t really fly, so I decided to pimp the name. There you have it, you can’t even trust an honest typographer! Marker pen or brush, Coal Brush is a very sweet little font. It is all caps, but upper and lower case differ and can be mixed freely. Plus there’s a hidden stash of alternates for the lower case letters and an alternate ampersand! I actually threw that in to make up for my lie. So, use it for your books, your posters, your rap albums, rock operas, grilled food restaurants and designer BBQ sauces. It’s yours for the taking!

An offbeat alternate caps typestyle inspired by the cover of a vintage LP titled, Organ Moods by Jerry Thomas. A playful and childish font from a sexy cheesecake album! Go figure. I’m a bit of a sucker for neon lights, especially in big cities. My favourite city is Tokyo, with its brightly coloured billboards and its back alleys full of neon-lit eateries. At first sight, Neon Goo is a slightly warped font, with some funny looking glyphs and a generous spacing. When you start using it, you’ll find out that the glyphs do complement each other! Neon Goo comes with all diacritics and a set of alternates for the lower case letters.

Creating Halla was a bit unusual for me since I started out creating the italic version first and that inspired the name Halla, meaning to tilt in Icelandic. It is also a fairly common female name in Iceland. “Halla” is derived from old Norse word “hallr” = 'flat stone, rock' or 'sloping, leaning to one side' Halla is a true italic inspired by handwriting and mechanical type. The combination of Light and Italic makes Halla ideal for advertising, branding, signage, packaging and editorial design.

Slik is a type family developed with packaging in mind. It started as one word in the boldest weight while working on an update of the Swedish liquorice brand »Läkerol« , a rejected proposal with the logotype in all upper case letters. It has very characteristic elements and is still simple and consistent in a way that is suitable in packaging design. The family consists of seven weights from Ultralight to Extrabold. It contains some alternative characters more suitable for text & numbers for pricing.

This is definitely a font suitable for kids toys. The letters are legible, and at the same time totally wacky! Kinda like what a kids toy should be! Fidusmager started out as a handdrawn, slightly rugged looking fon. However I ended up manually tracing each letter in order to have those smooth lines. By the way, Fidusmager is danish and actually means someone who’ll trick you - but as a kid I didn’t know that, and found that it most likely was something positive! :)

As usual, I stumbled upon a great 1971 Italian movie poster when looking for something else. The poster for “La Morte Cammina Con I Tacchi Alti” (directed by Luciano Ercoli), was made by an unknown artist and comes with a great font. Cortese was based on this movie poster font, but as I started working on the glyphs, I figured they would even look better in ligatures. So here it is: Cortese font - complete with 135 ligatures, accents and even Greek and Cyrillic!
