Maison Neue is the completely reworked version of our original Maison typeface family. While the earlier version was constructed using rigid elements, Maison Neue has been meticulously redrawn to be less formulaic and have a stronger focus on optical criteria to create a distinct grotesque paying greater attention to harmony, rhythm and flow. In 2017, Maison Neue was further developed and expanded into a super family of 40 styles. This includes the subtly condensed original version, an extended counterpart, a mono-spaced alignment—all featuring additional weights within each family.

Ela Sans is the sister of the typeface I originally designed for the business of my second wife and mother of my two sons, her name is - of course - Michaela. A 1930s hand-lettered poster for the play "The Cradle Will Rock", put on by the WPA (Works Progress Administration) Federal Theater Project is the source material for Talent Show JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions. “One Hundred Alphabets for the Show Card Writer” was published in 1919 to afford sign artists the ability to create signs and show cards in then-contemporary lettering styles. I was listening to the radio and a song caught my attention. It was ‘Demagogue’ by a band called the Urban Dance Squad. That song brought back memories from when I was a student, so I decided to name this font after it. Demagogue was made using a Sharpie pen and a piece of expensive paper. The result is a very legible, very neat and very bold font. Demagogue is ideal for when you want to get your message across, but hopefully not in a demagogue-ish way! ;-)

The Daytona™ typeface family grew out Jim Wasco’s desire to design a readable and legible typeface for video and on screen use.
