Birch Beer JNL comes from lettering spotted on a European business sign found in some stock footage that was used for an old black and white film about World War II. The name is derived from a popular root beer-like soda sold by the Royal Castle Restaurants that were popular in Florida from the 1930s through the 1970s.

Friedrich Poppl’s blackletter font, carefully redrawn and redesigned for modern use, named after the Parler master builder family who built the Schwaebisch Gmuend cathedral. This font contains the letter ‚long s‘ which can be reached in two ways. Either you use the OpenType feature ‚historical forms‘, or you type the integral sign + the option key on your keyboard.

Halliday JNL was redrawn from impressions made by a rubber stamp sign printing set, thus providing the slight imperfection of line widths that gives a hand-made approach to the typeface. The lettering style is based on Beton Open Condensed, a clean and popular slab serif used for decades in print display titling and rubber stamp manufacture.

A famous 1971 photo shows boxing champ Muhammad Ali making faces through a window at Joe Frazier at the challenger’s training facility. DuBois JNL is based on hand lettering designed by Albert DuBois of New York City, and originally titled "Round Block". His design was found in an old sign painters' design book from the early 1900s and has been translated to digital form by Jeff Levine. All of the quirks and charm of hand lettering have remained.

ITC Freddo is the work of New York designer James Montalbano and was inspired by a sign lettering manual from the 1930s. Montalbano liked the character shapes illustrated in this manual but found many of the proportions odd. So he reinterpreted them to produce capitals and lower case letters which, according to today's standards, better complement one another.

Helsinki 2.0 is a completely updated version of our popular Helsinki typeface. We expanded the character set, changed the weight structure, and also added italics. Helsinki is inspired by the Finnish traffic sign typeface. It is based on geometric shapes, with technical and masculine forms. A sign at the 81st Street (Museum of Natural History) New York subway stop provided the pattern for this mosaic tile face. In 1938 the Frankfurt-based foundry Ludwig & Mayer released Eugen Weiss’ beautiful fraktur ‚Hoelderlin‘. The font contains the historical long s which can be reached by the OpenType feature historical forms or by typing the integral sign [ ∫ ].

This narrow neoclassical revival is based upon a font released by the Haenel Foundry, Berlin, in the 19th century. By typing [alt] + p respectively [alt] + b you have access to a framing element as it can be seen on the posters. By using the OT feature stylistic alternative you can change the normal numbersign into an oldstyle numero sign.

Meet Wiblz (say “Vibbles!”). Wiblz is a Modern/Didone text family in the great tradition of squarish text families like Walbaum, Ibis, and Georgia. He has a high x-height and a great balance of legibility and readability. Plus, he supports the Latin alphabet, basic Cyrillic, Monotonic and Polytonic Greek, and the International Phonetic Alphabet. That makes him superlative in his usefulness and versatility! When searching for a didone typeface, it's often a struggle between blackness/legibility and stylishness/contrast. this is especially true of squarish didones, which number less than their round counterparts. Wiblz is an excellent balance between the two — clean and striking, good for uses from text to heading, and at home in print and on screen. Give him a try! He's a smart, adaptable, useful guy!

Acid Green has quite a psychedelic flair, but its origins are from long before the sixties psychedelia. Its roots date back to 1914, from an unnamed alphabet by J.M. Bergling, the amazing jewelry engraver and 'letterform inventor'—as he considered himself—whose books of art alphabets and lettering influenced countless artists, including, not surprisingly, those involved with the genesis of Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. Perfect for multiple display uses, including retro designs and trippy letterings, Acid Green has an extensive character set, with multilingual support covering 208 languages. There are yet some handy stylistic alternatives for some extra grooviness. Acid Green is somewhat retro looking, for sure, but it can sound perfectly contemporary too. Cumhuriyet means “the form of government in which the nation holds the sovereignty and uses it through deputies elected for certain periods”. The reason why I gave this name to the font is that 2023 is the centennial anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, which was founded by Atatürk. This typeface, which is sans serif, consists of three families: ▪ Cumhuriyet: Font family with Latin letters ▪ Cumhuriyet Pro: Font family including Latin, Arabic and Hebrew alphabets ▪ Cumhuriyet World: Font family including Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic and Hebrew alphabets Cumhuriyet World is a family of multi-purpose typefaces designed in a geometric style. Pompeijana is a part of the 1990 collection Type before Gutenberg 2’, which includes twelve contemporary typefaces each representative of a particular era. Pompeijana is Adrian Frutiger’s contribution to the project Type before Gutenberg’. He based the forms of this capital typeface on the writing of the Romans in Pompei. The decorative look of the alphabet is achieved by purely graphic means, placing the emphasis of the top and foot of the letters with heavy horizontals and diamond-shaped serifs. Frutiger completed his typeface with the weight Borders, a font consisting of numerous ornaments true to the style of the alphabet. The ornaments can be combined to form different borders and offer an optimal addition to the elegant Pompeijana. Pompeijana is best combined with modern sans serif typefaces.
