In Brazil, young people sign their gang names on the top of São Paulo City buildings. Their letters are tall and structured just like the buildings that they have to scale. For them, typography has become an extreme sport. The font Brazil Pixo Reto pays homage to these new athletes of design.

This is a 2023 redesign of Bronzo, originally designed by Rick Valicenti and Mouli Marur in 1991. With this redesign, Bronzo now has 6 new weights, for a total of 9, and 587 more glyphs than it was able to in 1991. Bronzo appears to move forward, yet remain still, via a center stroke that only sticks out on the left, a tense curve that only happens on the right, and a width that sits uncomfortably between square and rectangle. Those three things, combined with a balanced light to dark ratio, are what makes Bronzo appear tense and ready. Bronzo accepts Modernist ideals of minimal, rational construction—but it also adopts luxuriant shapes over Modernism’s sandblasted neutrality. It’s almost an alternate reality, a “what if?” of Modernism. Modernism’s fun, interesting, cute reboot.

Novantico is an all capitals typeface, influenced mainly by roman inscriptional capitals and renaissance typefaces. Classicly designed forms give text a noble and elegant feel. It is intended to be used for relatively short and important texts, titles, headings, quotes, etc.

The Trellis font family was an effort to combine my love for Art Nouveau and storybook lettering. The capital letters are intricately illustrated and fully appreciated when magnified. Trellis is a font family decidedly decorative and ready for greeting cards and holiday cheer. I was inspired by Storybook caps for the capital letters, and wanted to combine it with some lettering from early 20th century posters. What are its main characteristics and features? Leaves intertwined and growing out of the ends of the capital letters. Although it's highly decorative, it remains legible. Usage recommendations - Holiday Greetings, scrapbooking, personal seals since the capitals are quite attractive.

Eagle Bold was designed by M.F. Benton in 1933. It is a heavy geometric Sans Serif font with unusual spurs on Capital G and Q. An all-Capitals design, the Eagle Bold font is perfect for magazine and book covers, posters and packaging.

Letters in circles are certainly nothing new typographically, but nonetheless they were a favorite tool for sign makers in past decades for emphasizing names or key words in a message. Inspired by an image of an old-time hardware store sign in New York City with Franklinesque lettering, it has been reproduced as Circuletter JNL.

Inspired by "pixação" from the brazilian cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Balburdia can translate the street culture and add a little extra to your designs. ITC Chivalry is a calligraphic hybrid that honors the tradition of combining Roman capitals with italic lowercase letters. Drawn by Missouri lettering artist Rob Leuschke, who used a flat-nib pen on textured watercolor stock and then converted the drawings into a digital font, the design combines an old world" feel with "new world" legibility. A companion set of black letter caps completes the suite of characters. "I've loved drawing letters for as long as I can remember," says Leuschke. "Even in kindergarten, I tried to draw letters like my teacher." After graduating from college, Leuschke worked for a short time at a sign company in St. Louis, and in the early 1980s began working at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. His talent as a calligrapher and lettering artist eventually brought him back to St. Louis to begin a freelance career. Since then Leuschke has created over 250 fonts, primarily for the greeting card industry, that are now being used on work for his clients all over the world. Leuschke first conceived of the face as just the black letter caps; he later added the Roman letters to give the design more versatility. The Roman caps of ITC Chivalry combined with the lowercase are well suited to blocks of copy, while the more decorative black letter caps are ideal for showcasing short text of just a few words. Both sets of capitals also make great initial letters."

Handmade Dropshadow JNL was modeled from lettering found on a vintage silk screened metal sign used for point-of-sale marketing. Before the advent of computers and modern techniques, silk screens were hand cut using material called frisket and knife tools, and the lettering reflected the human inconsistencies of cutting these lettering into the template surface for transfer.

Burdigala X Sans is an open and spacious typeface, ideal for larger amounts of (printed) texts in brochures, magazines and books. Being wider than usual, it works especially well in media intended for on-screen reading, such as in Pdf-documents, e-books, applications and so on. Burdigala is the ancient Roman name of the city of Bordeaux France.

Tamiami JNL is based on a popular old typeface from the early 1900s, best known as "Cuba". 90 miles Northwest of that tropical island is Miami, Florida... and the Tamiami Trail was one of the first connecting routes between the City of Tampa on the West coast of Florida and Miami on the East coast - hence the conjunction "Tamiami".

Canterbury is named after the English cathedral city in the county of Kent, chiefly because its sculptural qualities are reminiscent of ecclesiastical architecture. It's a monumental font in the sense that it is well suited to plaques, certificates and other formal inscriptions. It's also suitable for any application that strives for a sense of elegance and dignity.
