LoveDuets is a family of two novelty fonts that have letters on hearts. There are at least five other font families on myfonts that have have letters on hearts but LoveDuets differs from them because it uses the OpenType feature of Contextual Alternatives (calt) to put two letters on each heart, one on the left side and a second on the right side. The two styles in the family can be used in layers to increase color possibilities. The brace characters have empty half hearts that can be used to replace spaces or to complete hearts at ends of lines. LoveDuets can be used when hearts are appropriate such as for Valentines Day, anniversaries, and weddings.

Cut by Monotype between 1900 and 1902, the Monotype Modern font family was based on Miller & Richards News 23 and 28; slightly condensed news text types of the 1890s. Monotype Modern is a lively typeface, with long, fine hairlines and well rounded letterforms, representing the best of nineteenth century modern face design. A classic text face, and typical of the moderns that were produced in the United Kingdom at that time, being less extreme in its rendering than some of the models of purer form being produced elsewhere. Monotype Modern is an excellent text face for magazines, newspapers and books, the heavier and more condensed versions are useful in headlines and display.

Falstaff first appeared with Monotype in 1931, an alphabet in the style of a wide, bold antiqua that was especially popular in the first third of the 19th century. Such typefaces distinguished themselves through their consistent basis in the transitional antiqua style. They are characterized by their extremely fine unflexed serifs with no curve connecting them to the thick strokes. The numerals with their generous curves and ball-like stroke endings and beginnings are particularly decorative. The vertical strokes are dominant and give lines of this typeface a column-like and therefore static look. Falstaff is today often used for book titling, especially for mystery novels. It is best used sparingly in middle and larger point sizes.

I remember a tea ceremony I attended in Fukuoka, Japan. The teahouse was set in a small, but beautiful garden and the whole idea of the ceremony was to appreciate the view from the porch. I thought the tea was quite bitter, but the view was unsurpassed. From time to time these memories pop up and I have to use them - that is why I named this font Teacup. Teacup is a slightly eroded all caps font, made entirely by hand with a Japanese marker pen and some high quality textured paper. It comes in a romantic open style and a more solid closed style. Teacup is filled to the brim with diacritics.

The productivity of the Berlingska Stilgjuteriet was made possible by the development of modern typeface art in Sweden in the 1950s. The typeface Berling was designed by Karl-Erik Forsberg for the Berlingska Stilgjuteriet in Lund. It belongs to the modern text typefaces and like most of these markedly shows the influece of the Neorenaissance. Berling Antiqua appeared in 1951 with a matching italic and by 1959, it was expanded to include five weights. Linotype offers Berling in four of them, roman and bold with their respective italics. In 2004 the Swedish publisher Verbum commissioned a complete redesign of Berling for the 21st century. Linotype assisted the designers of this new typeface, which came to be called Berling Nova.

Country Western is a revival of the classic William Page font known as Clarendon Ornamented originally designed in 1859 and again in 1877 by Vanderburgh & Wells. This version combines the best of both versions and adds something new. New to this font are the lowercase, italic, swash and script versions plus Greek and Cyrillic character sets. Keeping with the original theme from 1859 Fill fonts are available for the Ornamented and Open faced versions of this font. Linotype Schwennel is part of the Take Type Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This prize-winning font was designed by the German artist Svenja Voss. The figures seem to have been somehow eroded, parts of some strokes are completely missing, contours seem washed away. The eye works to put the pieces together to form a meaningful series of figures. The second weight, lila+negro, completes the letter fragments of the lila weight. Missing pieces are filled in and contours completed, making the resulting text stronger and a bit more legible. Linotype Schnwennel is intended exclusively for headlines in larger point sizes.

One of the first messy typewriter fonts to hit the market, Chandler 42 was compiled with forensic care from the voluminous output of a circa 1942 portable.
