This is my new, completely worked over and fine-tuned Bodoni Classic for Europe (no Greek and Cyrillic). I have added a set of elegant Swashes (B) and 2 alternating uppercase swirly Initials (C) as well as two lowercase end-letters (D). The fonts A and B have extensive kerning, which the initials (C) don't need, they are aligned to replace the standard capital letter. The lowercase end-letters (D) are aligned to replace the standard lowercase letters, so you might need to add a blank after the swirl. While watching a 1920s Charlie Chaplin short film, Jeff Levine was taken with the unusually modern looking lettering of the title cards in that silent movie. The lettering was not only right for its time, but could also be adapted to both Art Deco and Techno applications. From this classic film comes the font Two Reeler JNL, a bit of yesterday with an eye toward the future.

German designer Erbar drew the Candida typeface for the Ludwig & Mayer foundry shortly before his death in 1935. The typeface was released posthumously in 1936. An italic designed by Walter Höhnisch was published the following year and a reworked version was produced in 1945. Bold weights followed in 1951. Thanks to its clarity and readability in small sizes, the Candida family remained popular in the digital age.

Released by the Compugraphic Corporation in 1979, the Garth Graphic font family is based on a design by John Matt from the 1960's, reworked by Renee LeWinter and Constance Blanchard. Garth Graphic was named after Bill Garth, a founder of Compugraphic. A fairly strong old style face suitable for text setting; the heavier weights and condensed forms are most used for display work.

Shortly after the preparation of the original Century, the two Bentons (father Linn Boyd and son Morris Fuller) prepared a wider version for De Vinne’s press and called it Century Broadface. In 1900 ATF released the design for general use as Century Expanded, one of the most popular and effective of typefaces, to this day the text face of the New York Daily News.

This font set was developed for the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and their 1999 Monet exhibition, Monet at Giverny: Masterpieces from the Musée Marmattan. Monet Regular is a fairly straightforward script font with an undulating thick and thin stroke. Monet Impressionist is a semi-legible script which can be used for decorative rather than communicative purposes. Monet Sketches features 26 icons related to Monet's imagery.

Madita started with the idea of an upright sans script. Unlike other script typefaces, some of the characters look fairly constructed. The endings are either vertical or horizontal. On the other hand there are the swashes of a flowing script woven into the sans stroke that create an interesting tension. Madita is surprisingly legible, even in smaller sizes. The upper case letters even work in all caps.

It’s jaunty and flaunty and up to no good! It’s a child born of fairly odd parents and always looking for the good kind of trouble. It'll get you out of the red and into the pink like a panther pawning diamonds! Comicraft’s John Roshell has slipped his hands into the gloves of the Phantom Font Finagler and there’s HighJinks ahead to be sure!

Goudy Type was designed by Frederic Goudy for ATF in 1916. He endeavored to create a lively design with some brush-lettering qualities. In his words, he believed he was still attempting to ‘find himself’ as a designer. Thirty years later he was shown the design and could hardly recollect its creation. Steve Matteson has digitized Goudy Type to preserve its place in typographic history.

Slatterine is a retro-futuristic family, inspired by the second streamline era of the 1950s It's ideal for any design work that needs to suggest bygone visions of the future, or to have a retro-space-age effect. Slatterine's horizontally shaded glyphs give a strong sense of motion, whether coupled with the regular form's sharply leaning oblique angle, the perpendicular form, or the reverse leaning 'Lefty'.

Hellone Script is a lovely font duo and comes in two styles: monoline and regular. They are perfect for projects with feminine or girly theme! You can play with the ligatures, stylistic alternate, swash, etc to create your own customized lettering. This font is also support multi-language.

Jolly is a cheery, little display typeface that is suitable for headlines and informal body-copy. Being slightly slanted to the right, jolly has a fairly positive straightforward appearance which makes it pleasant to read. Its various Open Type features, such as swashy alternates for the capitals, ligatures and stylistic alternates as well as the small caps and the extended language support make it versatile and open for different applications.

Originally designed for American Type Founders, Goudy drew inspiration from the classical old style faces for Goudy Old Style. Round characters have a strong diagonal stress, ascenders are fairly long but descenders are very short. Goudy bold was introduced in 1920; this was designed by Morris Fuller Benton. This typeface has been particularly popular in America where it is extensively used in advertising, book jackets, for labels and packaging.

Horizon was inspired by the style of the lettering used in the original Star Trek TV series. Quite fittingly, this font was used 21 years later in the film Star Trek: Into Darkness. In keeping with the digital experimentation of the 90s, Horizon has a space-age look—with sharp, unexpected angles that were achieved sharply with digital tools. It was designed in 1992 by Bitstream staff designers.

A flat pen script font face with a fairly elegant look to it. The design of this script was intended to be used anywhere a well legible script is called for. A heavy stout script is the perfect display face which has a 30s and 40s flair that will add class. It has an urban and, I like to think, urbane character which puts me in mind of classic Thirties architecture like the Rockefeller Centre or the Empire State Building. I did consider calling it Rockefeller, but the family might think it a bit of a liberty, and I can’t afford to get into a copyright battle with them!

It’s a mixture of digital exactness and analog freedom. With over 130 Opentype features, the font can change its look from strict to charming twirly. Tobias Gutmann designed the Font in 2009/10 in the Typoclub which is part of the Hochschule der Künste Bern.

Obrigado means 'Thank You' in Portuguese. It is my way of saying thanks to the unknown designer of a Portuguese port-wine poster from the thirties. Obrigado font is based on that poster. As I had to work with a handful of glyphs, I designed the missing ones myself. Obrigado is a quite elegant and refined art deco font, which would be ideal for posters and logos. Obrigado speaks most Roman based languages.

Metropole is an exercise in combing the curvaceous lines of the Art Nouveau with the solid character and simplicity of Art Deco. The resulting three display faces combine the spirit of the 20s and of the thirties, creating lively fun display faces for headings, signage and banners. Designed at ParaType in 1990 by Elvira Slysh. Based on Brush Script of American Type Founders, 1972, by Robert E. Smith. À popular and widely used script face. Designed to give the impression of letters written with a brush with coherent lowercase, giving a fairly black overall color. Ideal for display work and wherever an informal, handwritten style is required. For use in posters, newspapers and magazines, advertisements, signs and many other informal applications.

The Saxo family is based on the typefaces of the twenties and thirties, where through the Art Deco and Futurism were built the foundations of the modern movement. Designed from basic geometric shapes (triangle, circle and square). This font transmits his solid character and modern spirit, through 470 glyphs, including Opentype features like ligatures, stylistic alternates and borders based on the geometry of the typeface. All Saxo fonts come with CE languages support.

Tactical is nothing more than a testosterone-laced typeface. Rigid, mechanical and unforgiving. Originally conceived in 2007 while I was working through the early sketches of Ginza, Tactical features hard 45-degree angles and the presence of a curve for curve’s sake is just not there. Complimenting the original is a Stencil variant (inspired by the military, marathon video game, explosion-influenced name) and matching Obliques—altogether creating a sharply coordinating family.

Yuge, apparently, is how New Yorkers pronounce huge. I have never been to New York, so I can’t tell if this is a fact. But I often hear a certain New Yorker pronounce it that way, so I guess it’s sort of true. Yuge is a handwritten font - made with a Sharpie pen. Believe me, it is a good font. It is fantastic. It is the best font ever. It is YUGE! ;-)

Cosmic Dust is dust that occurs in outer space or has fallen onto earth. Cosmic Dust font isn’t a dusty or celestial affair, no, it is a nice and useful font I made with a Sharpie pen. It is a little uneven, a little wobbly, but comes with a lot of character. Use it for your book covers, product packaging or posters. Cosmic Dust comes with extensive language support and a cool set of alternates.

Phraxtured is a fairly accurate rendition of the letter forms used in an old German-language publication that I found in a trash heap. However, several characters in fraktur, such as the k, y, x, and S, look bizarre to English-language readers, and I have created more comfortable alternatives. The Phraxtured-Deutsch version has the more traditional characters. The ShadowedInside style is designed to be used in layers with the Shadowed style.

I can’t remember when I had a true lazy morning.. I was a looong time ago, before I had children! Even now, when I’m down with the flu, I can’t stay in bed for too long - it really seems like a waste of time! Lazy Morning is a nice handwritten font. I made it with a Sharpie pen. It comes with all diacritics and double letter ligatures for you to play with.

Rose Colored is a Handwriting Script which is beautifully crafted with feminine touch. This font is perfect as a logo, quotes, apparel design, wedding invitation, and any design needs especially for a girly / feminine theme. Quanta was designed without reference to existing sansserif faces. As an original design, Quanta draws on principles of letterform developed during my studies of lettercarving (in Wales with Ieuan Rees) and Roman proportion. My intention was to produce a highly legible and adaptable sans-serif, initially intended to be a TrueType GX font, then as a Multiple Master font, later as a five weight range from extremely thin to extra black. A related uncial design will be released shortly.

I started this font on a Monday and I finished it the Monday after, so I guess the name is right! Another Monday started off as a bit of doodling (with a Sharpie pen) on a piece of paper. Before I knew it, I had a complete glyph set and it looked nice. Another Monday is a bit messy, uneven and maybe even a little weird, but it will look good on postcards, packaging and labels.

At first glance, Else may seem to be similar to many of the Century typefaces, with its prominent figures and sturdy alphabet. But when Robert Norton, of Norton Photosetting Ltd., designed Else in 1982, he added a bit of flair to that basic model. Note the bowl of the g, the splayed legs of the M, the sharply curved G and J, as well as the leading strokes of v and w and both of the graceful ampersands.

Shababa is a hand-drawn 3-D font. The linework is fairly relaxed, mostly smooth with some distressed edges. There is lots of texturing from the pen strokes which becomes more evident at larger point sizes. This looseness enhances the smooth technicality of the properly extruded forms. With extended codepages for Cyrillic, Romanian, Turkish, Baltic & Central Europe, Shababa is suitable for multilingual environments & publications. It also features West European diacritics, ligatures & a sprinkling of dingbats for extra fun!

Belle Jardin is an Art Deco inspired display family of three typefaces, offered in in-line engraved regular and demi bold forms as well as a solid bold form. Set the wayback machine for about 1967. Smell the patchouli? Now you can inject just the right dose of swirly-licious mojo into your retro design with this original vintage-styled sixties font. But as with many psychedelic hippie lettering designs, the history reaches back even further; it owes a designer's debt of gratitude to the designs of the Art Nouveau era as well. This is predominantly a uni-case alphabet, but also features a few alternative characters in the lower case – at the full height of the capitals. With an extensive character set and multilingual glyphs, you can use Hippie Mojo to say "Groovy baby" in many languages.
