The 2nd installment of the Enchanted Land family takes us on another medieval adventure, opting to completely rebuild instead of refining the legacy script. More emphasis was put into the undulating nature of the Uppercase characters and how they keep your eyes flowing. For this reason, straight lines and right angles are rarely used in favor of flamboyant terminals and wispy swashes. Lowercase characters, by contrast, adhere to a consistent model defined by its straightened edges and sharp corners. This script flirts with several old world styles but seeks only to borrow elements rather than completely emulate them. German Blackletter, Old English, Uncial, Victorian, it’s in there! Glosa is a type family designed for editorial purposes. Glosa is delicate and highly readable at very small sizes but reveals all its strength and personality when used at big sizes. Dimitrina was created with a simple premise: Can there exist a typeface which features a minimum of sharp angles? And a readable typeface, as well? With these strict rules in mind, the development started. At first the typeface looked more like a script, and some characters ( M G or R, to name a few) still hold traces of a handwritten style which spices the overall taste of Dimitrina. Since the first draft every character was redrawn, and edited several times, for the purpose of making the typeface readable, and distinct at the same time. Vintage sheet music for a song from the 1941 animated feature "Mr. Bug Goes to Town" featured a casual, hand-lettered inline type style on its cover page. Recreated as the digital font Go to Town JNL, this design is presented in all the imperfect glory of pen and ink lettering. A bit about the cartoon: The project was created by the legendary Fleischer Studios in Miami, Florida (they had relocated from New York City), after they could not obtain the rights to adapt Maurice Maeterlinck's "The Life of the Bee". Beset by the expenses of relocating to Florida, growing production costs on the full-length feature cartoon and other problems; mid-way through the making of "Mr. Bug Goes to Town" the Fleischer brothers were forced to sell their studio to their distributor (Paramount Pictures) in order to continue in operation. It was released on Dec. 5, 1941 - just two days before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The release [and subsequent re-release by Paramount as "Hoppity Goes to Town"] was a disappointing failure, earning [as late as 1946] only $241,000 of the initial cost of $713,511 it took to make the film.

A grunge-oriented secret code font, Dekapot Deluxxe has mysterious underlines and accent marks that pop up at seemingly random locations as you type.
