  10. ITC Lubalin Graph by ITC, $40.99
ITC Lubalin Graph® was initially designed by Herb Lubalin and drawn to fit the requirements of typographic reproduction by Tony DiSpigna and Joe Sundwall in 1974. Its underlying forms are those of Lubalin's previously released ITC Avant Garde Gothic, but its shapes were modified to accommodate large slab serifs. Its condensed weights, which include small caps and oldstyle figures, were later additions by Helga Jörgenson and Sigrid Engelmann in 1992. The family, with its generous x-height and overall tight fit has come to represent the typographic style of American graphic design in the 1970s. The typeface is at home when paired with mid-century modern design and spare sanses or more traditional text faces from the period. ITC Lubalin Graph covers four weights in its condensed width from Book to Bold, and five weights in its normal width.

  14. Bristles by Typodermic, $11.95
Step right up folks and feast your eyes on the most authentic and pure font to ever grace the pages of your ad campaign. Bristles is the name, and it’s a font that speaks volumes of homegrown authenticity with every brushstroke. As you gaze upon this sun-bleached and weathered sans-serif, you’ll notice how the paint barely holds onto the substrate. It’s as if the letters themselves are just barely hanging on, like they were painted decades ago and left to weather the storm. But that’s what makes Bristles so special. Its wispy, textured lettering gives your message a voice of purity that simply can’t be replicated by other fonts. Each letter has its own unique character, telling a story that only a sign painter’s hand could convey. And with its letter pair ligatures, Bristles breaks up the monotony of blatantly repeating characters in OpenType-savvy apps. It’s a font that’s as versatile as it is beautiful, perfect for any project that needs a touch of old-school authenticity. So what are you waiting for? Give your message the voice it deserves with Bristles, the font that speaks volumes of homegrown authenticity. 33. TT Backwards by TypeType, $29.00
TT Backwards useful links: Specimen | Graphic presentation | Customization options About TT Backwards: TT Backwards is an experimental font project inspired by the USSR typography and fonts of the late 70s and early 80s. Shop signs, posters, and book design—this is where we drew the inspiration for our project. TT Backwards consists of two complementary font subfamilies, a Script and a Grotesque, each of them includes 5 typefaces in 5 different weights (Thin, Light, Regular, Bold, Black). TT Backwards Script is a noncontrast almost monolinear solid script inspired by shop signs, poster and book design of the USSR. TT Backwards Script features a large number of Latin and Cyrillic ligatures (more than 70 items), which allows to make the script versatile and sophisticated to the max. And thanks to the implementation of a huge number of context alternates, all lowercase letters are joined softly and without breaks, and they meet the uppercase letters beautifully and correctly. TT Backwards Script supports the following OpenType features: liga, case, ordn, frac, sups, sinf, numr, dnom, tnum, onum, pnum. TT Backwards Sans is a narrow grotesque, which takes us back to the book design of late 70s and early 80s with its ductile characters. It is created considering its use in the small text size. TT Backwards Sans has a number of pronounced peculiarities: high x-height, exaggerated extenders, and big visual compensators and ink traps. Apart from the basic visual solution, TT Backwards Sans contains two experimental stylistic sets, which markedly change the overall visual perception of the text. SS01 alters high-frequency symbols of the Cyrillic alphabet, and SS02 significantly changes the high-frequency symbols of the Latin alphabet.
